CM Vijay’s meeting with HM Amit Shah in Mamallapuram marks a departure from the confrontational politics we have seen so far, even as several of TVK’s positions, particularly on delimitation and language, remain firmly rooted in opposition to the Centre. For Tamil Nadu, there is also a larger expectation from this outreach. The state will be hoping the Centre steps in to help resolve the Cauvery dispute and ensure Karnataka adheres to the Tribunal’s orders.
