Halo Campaign Evolved's August 17th update did not just fix the Assault Rifle's rate of fire. This was a global engine fix that also corrected the fire rates for both Plasma Rifles and the Needler. They, too were firing slower than intended. The pre-update clip for the Brute Plasma Rifle was by Fire Mountain on YouTube. I forgot to film myself firing that version until it overheated :p

I just discovered that Hunters in Halo Reach have an exploitable weakness. By destroying the back armor plating using explosive weapons like the Plasma Caster, you can ride their backsides and either shove a grenade into them, or melee them to death. I wish I knew this for my Legendary run!

I'm not the biggest fan of how the 60 round Assault Rifle's spread in Halo Campaign Evolved is locked, with no way to increase accuracy with burst fire. I think it should have adjustable spread, to keep it more in line with the original version. I assume this was done because of the SMG's inclusion to reduce redundancy, since it behaves more like CE's AR with more accurate burst firing. Regardless, the resulting 60 round AR in the remake, while it's still pretty fun to use, is not as interesting mechanically, in my opinion. One of my favorite things to do in the original is to tap-fire the AR while closing the distance to my targets, then full-auto up close. I could just use the Pistol, but I really enjoy the gameplay and mechanics of the CE AR. Its bullets pierce through grunts and it has the fastest melee attack in the game. One of the most criminally underrated video game weapons of all time.

Turns out, if you load a map in the Halo 2 Alpha as a Campaign map, the cut sprinting feature actually works. It takes 4 seconds of walking forward to kick in, and is interrupted by firing, melee, and throwing grenades.

I get that 343/Certain Affinity made Halo 2 Anniversary's suppressed SMG like ODST's to differentiate it from the standard SMG (it's neat there's a trade-off where you lose zoom while dual-wielding), but a part of me wishes it was like this as a homage to the original H2 version.
