After receiving his first visitor at HMP Belmarsh, Tommy was secretly transferred late Friday night to HMP Woodhill—a prison notorious for violent jihadist gang activity. The abrupt move, made without any explanation or notice, blocked his legal team from acting until Monday, putting Tommy at immediate risk. HMP Woodhill lacks the secure zones of Belmarsh, where he’d at least been kept away from dangerous prisoners. Last time he was at Woodhill, he was attacked by a jihadist gang member who shattered his teeth. Now, he’s been placed in “the block,” an isolated punishment cell typically reserved for violent offenders. But even there, he’s not safe; prisoners posing as janitors or staff can still access him. This transfer isn’t just punitive—it’s deliberate endangerment. Tommy, a category D civil prisoner, isn’t a violent offender and shouldn’t be held in a maximum-security facility at all. His removal to Woodhill reflects a larger campaign to silence and intimidate. Tommy was reassured he’d have visitation rights, routine, and protection at Belmarsh. Now, he has none of that.
