The newly appointed Irish Language and Ulster Scots Commissioners have both told View From Stormont, that while they are now officially in office, they do not yet have any powers. The official mechanism to give both Pól Deeds and Lee Reynolds the powers to do their jobs, needs to be triggered in Parliament. Meanwhile, the Irish Language Commissioner Pól Deeds has said he believes it is the English, rather than the Irish language, which has been weaponised at times.
