Earlier this week I was in J&K, every time a security convoy passes on the Jammu-Srinagar national highway (which is throughout the day), vehicles on either side are stopped. Our car was stopped multiple times, abruptly. Clearly Kashmir is more normal than the others! Am sure there are better ways to ensure security for the security personnel than causing inconvenience to locals and tourists.

There were easily around 1500-2000 people at Jantar Mantar today-braving the heat, temperature hovered around 40 degrees. Crowd started swelling after Abhijeet Dipke arrived, from 11 am on. Mostly youngsters were there demanding answers for the failing education system and resignation of Dharmendra Pradhan. Sonam Wangchuk received a rousing welcome. Crowd was interspersed with several You Tubers and a huge contingent of police was there too. #cockroach #protest #jantarmantar

The Hindu has accessed CCTV footage showing Dr. Umar, a resident of Pulwama (J&K), driving the white Hyundai i20 car believed to be involved in the blast near Delhi's Red Fort, through a toll plaza prior to the explosion on November 10 evening. Police sources said that the occupant of the car has been killed. Video shows Umar is in the car alone, wearing a mask.

During interaction with students yesterday, one thing that struck me is the sheer demonisation of protests in all these years. Some kids had come to Jantar Mantar at CJP protest to witness their “first ever protest in life.” (Listen to one such interaction below) The crowd was a mix -Youngsters from humble backgrounds, from affluent families, and also elderly people. Most said the country’s mainstream media (TV channels) failed to show the country’s reality and were biased. Most were tired of Hindu-Muslim shows. #GenZ
