Dolly Parton on why her husband never wanted to be seen in public with her and how she knew to keep his life private. “My husband did not want to be out there. He never did an interview in his life. When I first got here, I won Song of the Year and won my award in 1966, the year we got married. I wanted him to go with me, so he rented a tuxedo. I begged him to go. When we were leaving, he started taking off the jacket and said, ‘Now, I want you to do great, but don’t you ever ask me to go to another one of these damn things, ’cause I ain’t going.’ And he never did. I knew right then that I was just gonna keep him private as best I could. Never ask him to do nothing, and certainly he wasn’t gonna volunteer. He was very proud of me, of course, but we got along great because we didn’t have nothing to fight over like that.”

Jon Bernthal reveals the hilarious way comic book stores treated him after he was cast as the Punisher. “I went to a comic book store in Ventura, and there’s a guy smoking a cigarette outside. I said, ‘Yeah, man, I’m just looking for some Punisher comics.’ He goes, ‘Yeah, we don’t have much since the announcement.’ I’m like, ‘Announcement?’ I’m thinking, ‘That’s me. That’s my announcement.’ I thought, ‘Do I be a total douche and go over to the guy and be like, “Yeah, actually, I’m the guy?”’ So I just said, ‘Hey, man, if you could…’ And then he looked up and said, ‘Wow, it’s you.’ He was so cool and helpful. He told me, ‘You need to read this, this and this,’ and gave them to me for free. Then I went to New York and into a comic book store in Brooklyn. I got a whole stack and went up to buy them. He looks at me and goes, ‘Yeah, I know who you are.’ I said, ‘Okay, cool, man. I just want to buy these comics.’ He goes, ‘No, you don’t. You’re not taking this, you’re not taking this. You need to read this, this, this and this.’ I was like, ‘Okay, dude.’ And he goes, ‘Do not mess this up.’ Got it. Conan: “Did you get it for free?” Jon Bernthal: “No, man. No, not at all.”

Tom Holland admits there’s still one word he struggles to pronounce. Interviewer: “You’ve mastered the American accent… but I heard on a podcast that you had some difficulties with the word ‘Spider-Man.’” Tom Holland: “Yes. Still to this day… if I don’t think about it… I want to say ‘Spider-Man.’ I don’t know why. That feels more comfortable to me.” “I have to really focus… and say ‘Spider-Man.’ The way I get around it… is imagining I’m saying it in fast forward.” Zendaya: “Just get it out. Don’t think about it too much.” Tom Holland: “The moment I relax… it becomes ‘Spider-Man.’”

Mike Rowe reveals the one job from Dirty Jobs he’d never do again. Shawn Ryan: “What do you think is the single, deadliest, most dangerous job in the world?” Mike Rowe: “There were 350 jobs. There’s one that I would never do again. Opal mining. In the Australian outback, in a little town called Coober Pedy. It was 129 degrees when I was there that day. The city itself is underground. It’s too hot to live above. The opal miners are kind of like crab fishermen in the desert… and on steroids. There’s no OSHA in this part of the world. The night before we got to Coober Pedy, I wanted to look at the opal fields because we were gonna be working there all the next day. They flew me over the fields. When you look down, there are thousands of these prospect shafts that have been dug over the years. None of them are filled in. The pilot said, ‘There’s a lot of wildlife out here. There are hundreds of them at the bottom of these shafts. They fall in all the time… and they die down there.’ I said, ‘Well, that’s terrible.’”

Denzel Washington says he hasn’t auditioned for a movie in nearly 40 years and makes it very clear he doesn’t miss it. Host: “You must be at that stage where it’s like you’re not reading scripts and auditioning, right?” Denzel Washington: “Haha, it’s been about 40 years for that. About 40 years, yeah. I haven’t auditioned for a movie in I don’t know if it’s 40 exactly. I won an Academy Award in 1989. How many years ago is that?” Host: “So that would be 35.” Denzel Washington: “I’m sure that nobody asked me to audition after that. I may be wrong. I may be wrong. I may be wrong.” Host: “I mean, do you miss that?” Denzel Washington: “Auditioning?” Host: “Yeah.” Denzel Washington: “NO!!!!”

Tom Holland forgot one of Zendaya’s biggest movies while counting her 2026 releases. Q: “How many projects does Zendaya star in throughout 2026?” Tom Holland: “There’s the drama… Spider-Man: Brand New Day… The Odyssey…” Jacob Batalon: “Shrek.” Tom Holland: “I think Shrek comes out next year. I think it’s four.” Zendaya: “Wrong.” Tom Holland: “Hold on… wait, what?” Zendaya: “You’re missing one major one.” Tom Holland: “Oh… Dune! Five! Five! Five!” Jacob Batalon: “Five in a row is crazy… if you think about the box office.” Interviewer: “Five in a row. Generational run.” Tom Holland: “That is a generational run. No one is doing it like her.”

Tom Holland reveals the excuse he gives kids when they ask him to shoot webs. Interviewer: “Is there a specific moment where you could really see the impact it has on a child to meet you as their Spider-Man?” Zendaya: “Many times.” Tom Holland: “Oh yeah. We’ve had countless experiences with young kids. It really means a lot… especially when they don’t know it’s not real. That’s when it’s really special.” “But then you have to be quite quick-witted… because I’ve visited kids before… and they’ve asked me to show them the webs. You’re like… ‘Oh, I ran out of webs swinging over here. I’ve gotta go back to the workshop… and get some more.’” “I really love that. It becomes quite a fun acting exercise. Seeing how excited kids get… is one of the best parts about playing this character.”

Jon Bernthal thought he was a fast driver… until he saw how fast Will Smith was going. Jon Bernthal: “I don’t have very many vices anymore, but one thing that I do do is I drive super dang fast, man. Like, super dang fast.” Host: “How fast?” Jon Bernthal: “Fast, okay. And I’ll tell you, I drive myself to work, and we were shooting down in Anaheim. I knew Will and I had about a two-hour drive home, and I know he drives. We were talking about the drive, and I said, ‘Look, Will, I drive real fast, man. You know, I go about 110 miles an hour the whole way. It’s four in the morning, there’s nobody on the road, and I high-tail it. I gotta get home to my kids.’ And so he goes, ‘Yeah, yeah, I know. I get it, man. I’m up usually around 150, 160.’ And I’m like, ‘Yo, man, you’re Will Smith, dude. You already got it all. You don’t like, I’ve never seen him be boastful. I never saw him be arrogant. I never saw like, what are you doing, dude? I got one thing. I drive fast. You don’t need to have this too. Like, there’s no way you’re doing one thing.’” Jon Bernthal: “Sure enough, man, I’m in my Ford Raptor, and I’ve got it going as good as that thing will go. And I’m high-tailing it home on the 101, and I look in my side-view mirror and I see something moving in a way that no vehicle should ever move. It was just like zoom. Just zoom past me. And I was like, ‘Could that be?’ And I looked at it. I said, ‘That’s not Will’s car.’ But then I looked back in the rearview mirror again, and I saw something coming that literally made it feel like I was standing still. And this thing just Whabo and that was Will. And the next day I’m like, ‘Dude, you really do drive that fast? Like, what are you doing?’ And I found out the first car was his security car that makes sure everything’s safe up along the way.”

Tom Holland reveals why Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield had better Spider-Man suits than he did. Q: “What’s the worst thing about wearing a Spider-Man suit for 12 hours?” Tom Holland: “The worst thing is definitely the smell. You spend 12 hours in that thing… in a deep lunge… jumping up and down all day. It stinks.” “We did a really interesting exercise in pre-production. I tried on Tobey’s suit. I tried on Andrew’s suit. I tried on my original suits. We spoke about all the things we loved about the previous costumes.” “Andrew and Tobey had it way easier than I did. They had zips in different places. They could use the bathroom. They could take their mask off by themselves. They could take their gloves off.” Zendaya: “Crazy.” Tom Holland: “Which I still couldn’t do.”

Shia LaBeouf says only one person showed up for him in rehab when his own family didn’t. Shia LaBeouf: “I wound up at this rehab in Utah, and they do something called Family Week. Every week on a Sunday, everybody who’s involved in the program has their family show up on these Skype calls. Week one, no one shows up for me. My mother, my father, no one. Manager, friends, no one showed up. Week two, same thing. So I’m sitting in this room, and even the person who’s therapizing me, she’s starting to feel it. She’s empathizing with where I’m at. And there comes a point where Family Week comes around and I say to my therapist, ‘I’m not gonna go. I don’t wanna subject myself to this shit. I’m on a path. Let me just stay here.’ And she says, ‘No, I think you should show up this week.’ I show up thinking, alright, my mom’s gonna be on there. And Mia is on the screen. She’s prepping a movie. She ain’t got no fucking time for this. But she found time. And she said, ‘Hi, Shia.’ And we just smiled. We had nothing else to say. But she saved my fucking life, dog. Before the kid, before the job, before fucking God, before any religion, before a laugh, before a phone, before anything… was this woman’s face. No promises made. No long conversation being had. Nothing. Just her presence. The ministry of presence. Sometimes that’s all you need to offer a person who’s in a situation like that. Just to be present. And she was present for me at a time when I didn’t deserve to have nobody in my life. Especially her. She’s a real one, man.”

Tom Holland reveals the wildest thing he did to keep Spider-Man: Brand New Day a secret. Interviewer: “What is the wildest thing you’ve had to do to keep this movie under wraps?” Tom Holland: “Especially when we’re chatting about character and arc and stuff like that… I delete a lot of text messages.” Interviewer: “Did you turn Find My Friends off?” Tom Holland: “No. I think Find My Friends is such an important thing. I have all of my friends back home on Find My Friends.” “What’s so funny is… in the UK we don’t have AC anywhere. We’re going through this heatwave right now… so I keep getting notifications of different friends letting themselves into my house… just to enjoy the AC.”

Hugh Jackman reveals the emotional reaction when he finally put on Wolverine’s iconic yellow and blue suit. Hugh Jackman: “For 24 years, people have been talking about it. It was one of the first things Ryan said to me: ‘I wanna do it.’ And he goes, ‘We’re gonna do the yellow and blue.’ I was like, ‘Alright, I’m in.’ In my head, I was like, ‘I don’t know if it’s gonna work.’ As soon as I put it on, he had his Deadpool suit on, I had mine, and we walked onto the set. There were 100 crew members who had done 100 movies and seen everything. You could hear a pin drop. Everything—it was just a hush. There was one guy there, Billy Lawless, who’s Ryan’s dresser. He started to cry. His kid’s name is Logan, just so you know. And he goes, ‘This is the best day of my life.’ It’s the best. It looks so good. It feels so good. Except when you’re urinating, it does not feel good.” Jimmy Fallon: “It must be hard to get out of that.” Hugh Jackman: “It’s like a labyrinth getting there. It’s very hard.”

Q: “The Odyssey or Spider-Man: Brand New Day?” Tom Holland: “You want to pit the movies against each other?” Interviewer: “In a friendly way.” Interviewer: “Which production had the more intimidating first day on set?” Tom Holland & Jon Bernthal: “The Odyssey.” Interviewer: “Which production had the longer hours?” Tom Holland & Jon Bernthal: “The Odyssey.” Interviewer: “Which had the better accommodations?” Tom Holland: “Spider-Man.” Jon Bernthal: “Not even close.” Interviewer: “Which one had the more intense prosthetics or costumes?” Tom Holland: “I’m in full lycra, dude. Full lycra in Spider-Man.” Jon Bernthal: “The production design on Spider-Man was astounding. Benny’s costume… incredible.” Tom Holland: “Charlie Wood for Spider-Man… remarkable. But Ruth De Jong for The Odyssey… what she did is remarkable. It’s hard to choose a favorite.” Jon Bernthal: “They’re both… as good as it gets.” Tom Holland: “The best in the business.”

Jon Bernthal says a night in jail made him realize he had to completely change his life. Jon Bernthal: “I was walking my dogs, and I see there’s a house party. These assholes are at this party, and there’s an old couple playing the didgeridoo. I see this one guy and I just fucking lock on to him. He was the ringleader. He goes up to this old woman who’s playing the didgeridoo next to her husband, and he puts the didgeridoo on his dick so it looks like she’s blowing his ***** there’s something about that that just fucking pissed me off. Then he locked on to my dog. He called Boss over, and when I called Boss back, he held onto him. There’s just something about my dogs and my family and my friends. I just can’t take that shit, man. I grabbed Boss from him and started walking away. His buddy pushed me in the back, and I turned around and hit him. He got knocked out standing up and crashed his head on the pavement. His buddies jumped me, the police came, and it became this huge mess. They ended up taking me away because the guy wasn’t waking up. And I’m sitting there handcuffed to this bench, and I remember being locked up when I was a kid. I had to piss so fucking bad, and I couldn’t even move. I had to ask somebody for permission to go to the bathroom. And the cops are in my ear saying, ‘If he doesn’t wake up, you’re done.’ And I knew right there on that bench, I said to myself, ‘Look, man, this is gonna go one or two ways. If he doesn’t wake up, I’m going down, and I’m going through that room that way. I’m done with family. I’m done with friends. And I’m gonna be the devil.’” Jon Bernthal: “And it was a scary feeling because I wasn’t scared. It was peaceful. I was ready to be that guy. But I said, ‘Lord, if you can just wake this guy up. If you can just change this, I am done, man. I’m done with the bullshit. I’m done with the drinking. I’m done with the messing around. I’m gonna commit to my lady. I’m gonna commit to my work. I’m gonna be about making a family. I’m gonna trim all the fat off my life. If you just give me the shot.’” Jon Bernthal: “Sure enough, this guy ended up waking up. And right after that, I had an audition for The Walking Dead. July 3rd, 2010, one year later, I was on set for The Walking Dead. I got married right after the first year of The Walking Dead, and that’s really when my life changed in every single way. I started working different. Started behaving different.”

Tom Holland says Matt Damon, Robert Downey Jr. and Hugh Jackman are among the only actors who became so iconic in a role that nobody else wants to play the character. “There are only three people I think that have ever really done this, and it’s you, Downey and Hugh Jackman. No one wants to play Jason Bourne. No one wants to play Iron Man. And no one wants to play Wolverine. You know, I’m the third person to play Spider-Man. There’s been lots of Batmans, there’s been lots of Supermans, all this sort of stuff. But there are only a few characters in our industry where it feels like, just leave them be.” Matt Damon: “Wow, that’s awesome. Thank you very much.”

Tom Holland says Sadie Sink steals the third act of the movie… her response says it all. Interviewer: “Tom Holland recently teased that you absolutely steal the third act in this movie. Without giving anything away… did you have to learn any bizarre or unexpected physical skills to pull off whatever it is you do in the finale?” Sadie Sink: “Oh… that’s a very sneaky question.” “I think with any new character you play… there’s always going to be a challenge. Or something new that you have to learn how to do. And this was no exception.”

Zendaya reveals what she wishes she could inherit from Tom Holland. Zendaya: “I think something I’m always impressed with Tom about, which I feel like I want to inherit more of, is that he’s very… I don’t know how to… What’s the word? Tom Holland: “Awesome. Legendary. Fantastic. Talented.” Zendaya: “Yes, so many great words. But you really stand on your big stickler for respect and kindness. Not to say that I’m not doing that, but you’re just super respectful. You make sure that that is in the front. And then if that line is crossed, I think sometimes you’re better at drawing boundaries and making things clear. I’m a little bit more like, ‘Okay guys, it’s alright. Everything’s alright.’ You’re good at being like, ‘No, no. This is… we’re not doing this.’” Host: “Setting the boundaries when they need to be set.” Zendaya: “Really clearly. Really strong. And I’m kind of like, ‘I’ll put the boundaries like, hey guys, can we just… if that’s okay, if I can just put the boundaries, that would be good. Okay, we’re good. We’re good.’ So I like that you really know what you feel is right for yourself, and you do it. And for others, you’re very protective in that way.” Tom Holland: “Thank you. I appreciate that.”

Sadie Sink reveals she was actually nervous on her first day filming Spider-Man: Brand New Day. Interviewer: “Tom said in an interview there was this level of confidence that you brought immediately that first day on set… that really shifted everything in such a good way. What does that mean to you… just to know that you walked in already and the aura was there… the energy was there? And what did you do to set yourself up for that?” Sadie Sink: “Oh God… I don’t know. I’m glad that it appeared that way. I think there’s always a level of challenge and excitement when establishing a new character in any environment… but especially in one that they’ve been here for 10 years. So yeah… I definitely was nervous. But I’m glad that I guess it didn’t come off like that.”

Ben Affleck says Marlon Brando was on another level in this performance. Ben Affleck: “GOAT actor?” Jon Bernthal: “I don’t know, man.” Ben Affleck: “That’s a tough one.” Jon Bernthal: “The GOAT performance for me is Buffalo Bill. Ted Levine - is that his name? Ted Levine as Buffalo Bill. That’s a GOAT performance.” Ben Affleck: “That’s pretty good. To me, a GOAT actor is like, there’s a bunch of people that are up there. Brando, Meryl Streep, Sean Penn, Daniel Day Lewis, Viola Davis, Denzel. There’s so many people I respect, you know what I mean? It’s a hard” Jon Bernthal: “What’s your favorite performance, though?” Ben Affleck: “Brando in Mutiny on the Bounty. You can see all the other actors, the contemporary thing, and it’s like a really good example of where you can see a guy is actually at the next level and the rest of them just don’t know what to do with it.
