And the cops are in my ear saying, ‘If he doesn’t wake up, you’re done.’ And I knew right there on that bench, I said to myself, ‘Look, man, this is gonna go one or two ways. If he doesn’t wake up, I’m going down, and I’m going through that room that way. I’m done with family. I’m done with friends. And I’m gonna be the devil.’” Jon Bernthal: “And it was a scary feeling because I wasn’t scared. It was peaceful. I was ready to be that guy. But I said, ‘Lord, if you can just wake this guy up.
