Just once more, for old time’s sake…

Does anyone who’s seen the Amazon documentary about Langer’s time in charge of Australia really want him as the next England coach? It would be swinging the pendulum too far in the other direction. Yes, some of the players need more discipline, but Langer is very intense.

This is still one of my favourite nostalgic cricket videos on YouTube.

Just stumbled across this on Instagram. Bravo Luke Kempner 😂👏👏

Thanks to Rob Key for taking the time today to respond to Liam Livingstone’s allegations. Here he is speaking to me from Bexhill Golf Course.

Helluva moment in cricket this — I remember hearing it on TMS at the time. Didn’t appreciate what it meant then. I do now. Proper sportsmanship.

People of a certain vintage may enjoy this TMS montage. It may evoke a few fond memories.

The Leg Over I never tire of hearing it

Just stumbled across this audio on The Cricketer Instagram account. It doesn’t seem to have been posted on their Twitter account yet, but I thought people would find it interesting. I’ll leave it to you to make up your own minds on whether you agree with what’s being said.

Have a random clip of Ian Chappell having a strop.

Some of the actors and extras in this clip look rather familiar…

I’ve seen a few post this morning slightly misrepresenting an interview given by Ben Duckett and putting words in his mouth that he didn’t actually use. Here’s what he actually said, with a bit more context and without any judgment on my part.

I like this, but it needed more appropriate music. So…

How on earth did I miss this before the Ashes? This is total GENIUS by Denis Carnahan I’m going to be singing this all evening now! 😂😂😂 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿

Simply too good not to post! Retro bat making by Gray-Nicolls

What cricket looks like to most people…

For those who haven’t yet seen it, here are some highlights from the ICC World Test Championship Final video. It’s more fun with the sound on.

Thanks for this Sky Sports Cricket and Mel Jones 😂 And thanks to everyone who let me know about it. My phone went a bit mad for a while there! I had a lot of fun today.

There’s a lot of really fascinating silent footage of Silver Age cricket (1918-1939) available online, which I suspect hardly anyone ever watches. So I’ve edited together some of the Jack Hobbs footage and set it to music of the era. I’m pretty pleased with how it’s turned out.
