A friend flagged for me that Mike Kelsey at McLean Bible Church (Davis Platt’s church) just preached another crazy woke sermon, this time chastising Christians to “do better” when it “comes to the LGBTQIA community.” He goes on to say “Specifically when it comes to trans people” and that “Christians should be at the front of the line” in “protecting and promoting their inherent dignity.” He says Christians need to stand up for “bullied” transgender people and “lean into their mess.” This comes a week after Mike Kelsey attacked Charlie Kirk from the pulpit. He makes a throwaway joke at the end of this clip about that. Kelsey had nicer words for the “trans” community than he has for conservatives, White people, or Charlie Kirk.

ICYMI in the back and forth today: Kevin Roberts gave a clear, good, and unequivocal answer to Evan Myer’s very reasonable question: “We’re not going to require anyone in this institution to do anything that violates their faith.” He goes on to repeat this, saying again “No one’s religion is going to be violated by anything Heritage has asked you to do.” He also rightly adds that the fact the letter got leaked (and of course this staff meeting got leaked too) only complicates things. Again, Dr. Roberts is a good man and the right man for Heritage. If he says this, I believe him and believe he will stand by it. These dinners are just “recommendations” right now. But whatever happens, not only should any dinners like these be entirely optional, participation (or not) should never be used as a metric for judging employees at Heritage—and I’m confident Roberts would never let that happen.

The Big Eva, seeker sensitive, “winsome third way” Keller approach to Christian cultural engagement tried to offer the gospel as an “off-ramp” to Leftism. Charlie Kirk offered conservative politics as an on-ramp to the gospel. They tried to relate to the Left, Charlie rebuked the Left. They watered down the gospel so as not to offend liberals who came to their church. Charlie went right to heart of liberalism in America (the college campus) and offended them with the truth, and then showed them how that truth led back to Jesus Christ. They accepted the narrative that because of demographics and secularism, we had to change how we communicated Christian truth. Charlie rejected that and changed the paradigm. Ultimately, I think Charlie’s method has already been proven more fruitful. Glad to have this discussion with Ryan Helfenbein and Virgil L. Walker on the Standing for Freedom Center podcast!

Let’s be perfectly clear: DEI or any kind of “quotas” for hiring based on race is sinful partiality (it violates James 2:1) and it is *always* anti-white Therefore, DEI is anti-white racism. Plain and simple. So when JD Greear used DEI standards to make appointments in the SBC, he was practicing demonic sinful hatred against white Christians. Here he is boasting that “of all the appointments I’ve made, 2/3s of them are women or people of color.” So this compounds his sin, as he is intentionally hating *white men* specifically. And when he announced that his church has a target “diversity quota” goal in their staff hiring, that was also blatant racism. Because it’s against white people, he gets away it in the eyes of the world and the compromised church. But that doesn’t make him any less of a racist. And that’s Neil Shenvi’s pastor.

I want to see the largest ICE raid in American history on the day of Mamdani’s inauguration in NYC. And if he wants to interfere, he can get arrested, too. In his victory night speech, Mamdani challenged President Trump, declaring that that NYC is a proud sanctuary city for illegal criminal aliens. He said, “If you want to get to them, you’ll have to go through me.” Alright then. No one is above the law. And that includes you, Mayor-elect Mamdani.
