I am demanding that my spouse Dr Kifefe Kizza-Besigye is taken to see his personal doctor at her clinic in Bogolobi NOW. He has collapsed in court and was returned to prison. His doctor is concerned about his health. Dr Kifefe Kizza-Besigye has insisted NOT to be treated at a govt hospital. He does not trust any institution under the control of Yoweri K Museveni and his son Muhoozi Kainerugaba

We are at a perilous moment in the global AIDS response. Decades of progress are at risk as the world pulls back just when we need to push forward. Donor cuts have hit the HIV response like a shockwave. Prevention services are collapsing, treatment expansion has stalled, and community organizations—the backbone of the response—are being forced to shut down. Community-led services—our frontline defenders—have been devastated. Across eight countries, 89% of their funding came from bilateral donors, 10.9% from multilaterals, and less than 0.1% from domestic sources. When donors withdraw, communities are left with nothing. The human cost is stark. In 2024, 570 adolescent girls and young women were newly infected with HIV every day. Yet, 60% of women-led HIV organizations have lost funding or closed programmes. : From rising criminalisation, to shrinking civic space, to collapsing services, those most at risk are being abandoned. But let me be clear: the science shows we can end AIDS. The question is whether politics will allow us to. That is why the Multi-Stakeholder Hearing this week and the United Nations High-Level Meeting on HIV/AIDS in June matter so much. We need governments to rally behind an ambitious, actionable Political Declaration—one that can save millions of lives and put the world back on track to end AIDS as a public health threat by 2030. #HLM2026AIDS #UnitedToEndAIDS

Misleading. Legally, Uganda can ignore European Parliament but NOT without consequences. The Parliament influences funding decisions by the European Commission. It does not impose sanctions, but it can pressure the Council and Commission to do so. It can impact market access.

Merry Christmas to all my friends and followers! This morning I attended Mass at Gayaza parish, later I cut flowers in my garden, and now I’m in the kitchen with Anselm, cooking for friends. What a privilege it is simply to be alive — to belong to communities, to love and be loved. I take none of it for granted. Thank you, BOBI WINE, for this call to action. This struggle isn’t just about Kifefe Kizza-Besigye—it’s about whether we allow Yoweri K Museveni to wield power over life and death in Uganda. By rejecting Museveni and his son’s military court, Besigye has drawn a line in the sand: the army cannot be used to override our laws and silence citizens. He stands for all of us. Let’s rise together and say NO to totalitarianism!

Every person has the right to health. Every person deserves dignity. Last year saw the sharpest drop of global aid, including to HIV programmes. Yet, it remains within our reach to end AIDS as a public health threat — if we have the courage to match science with justice, innovation with equity, national leadership with global solidarity. 🔗

Agree with you, Hon. Kahinda Otafiire. Our past is marked by violent change—every leader has exited through the gun. Ugandans now ask for a different path: a predictable, democratic, and peaceful transition after 40 years of rule by Yoweri K Museveni. Not an heir!
