If I remember correctly, successfully completing this single take stunt sequence of running, leaping a fence, and jumping into a moving car is what got Bobby Samuels into the Hong Kong Stuntmen’s Association. He’s the only African American to ever be a member.

I was so hyped first time I saw this stunt from Tiger Cage II (I shouted "oh fuck") my wife ran into the room thinking something was wrong. Clip source is the 88 Films Ltd. Blu-ray.

Best use of a railing in cinema? I'll start:

Drop a headshot. I'll go first:

What a phenomenal intro to a scene. Just 18 seconds and it provides geography, location, cultural context, character dynamics, and invigorating movement and energy. Taipei Story (1985) Edward Yang

This has gotta be on the short list for most insane / insanely dangerous stunts of all time.

I was in love with this movie from the first minute

What's the greatest weapon-on-a-string in cinema? I'll go first:

New favorite movie just dropped. I’m so in love.

Classic Jackie and Sammo. That fall at the end is BRUTAL.

The best film of 1987

When you absolutely, positively got to kill every motherfucker in the room, accept no substitutes.

I was in love with this movie from the very first second.

This moment won Steven McKay the Oscar for Best Original Screenplay. Watch it again and again. The implications. The subtly. The character relationships. The unspoken volumes. Writing doesn't get much better than this.

This scene has what is unequivocally the greatest character exit in the history of cinema

Rebels of the Neon God and Millennium Mambo is now my holy grail theatrical double feature

Anyway, here's the opening of the greatest action movie of all time.

The scale of Duck You Sucker (1971) is astonishing. Truly epic filmmaking of the nearly extinct variety. The best parts of this movie are as good as anything Leone ever did. As good as cinema gets.

If the few Taiwanese films I’ve seen are any indication of the heart of Taiwanese cinema, I think my soul was made to be a Taiwanese cinephile.

Legitimately one of the greatest fight scenes of all time.

Chow Yun-fat's range in this clip, from stoic cool -guy-in-a-suit double fisting pistols to anxious tension and finally emotional devastation is supreme. Easily the best actor-turned-action-star of all time.

The birth of gun-fu. A Better Tomorrow (1986, John Woo).
