Truly a beautiful show from our atmosphere! Here is a full 21-hour animation of the Lake Michigan snow mesovortex train that happened yesterday into early this morning! One of my most favorite things to catch on radar, the atmosphere is really showing off its stuff here.

$This is still, by far, the weirdest thing I have ever seen on radar. I still have almost no clue what is going on here. Towards the end it looks like whatever it's detecting "stretches" to the south.. almost like it's dealing with some ridiculous super-refraction that suddenly resolves. Any smart radar people have ANY ideas here?$

Storm-following birth-to-death loop of the supercell (well, supercells) responsible for multiple tornadoes last night in OK/KS

Storm-following loops of the dramatic upscale growth of a line of storms in western ND that would go on to become an extreme high-end squall line and wake low/sting jet that produced numerous wind reports over 100 MPH last night. Some strong tornadoes can be seen in the loop but this focuses on the squall's lifecycle and progression. Included a reflectivity only version just in case the dual panel loop gets too cooked by Twitter's algorithm.

Incredible satellite animation showing the flow of air/clouds over one of the Channel Islands of California (specifically, Santa Cruz Island). The airflow is disrupted by the island and forms a pair of huge, persistent counter-rotating vortices that look just spectacular! Also lots of waves, ripples, and other cool dynamics easily visible.... Fascinating loop for enjoyers of air and water vapor!
