If this were part of California, you wouldn’t be able to build a single hotel on the coast thanks to the Coastal Commission. No more resorts. It would be a highway with some parking lots dispersed and then little towns 1,000 yards from the water filled with $3 Million bungalows.

Can we just do this once somewhere in Europe or America? I want to feel the way I felt when I saw this for the first time, but in real life.

lol no they don’t.

This, tacos, and abundant housing.

Move to Austin. Go into debt if you have to* *no debt required because we actually build housing here

Yanjin, China is like if you gave a West Virginia coal town the population density of Manhattan. This place is so cool.

Babe, wake up. It’s time to go back to the moon.

THIS IS A HUGE DEAL. Texas’ Ultra MAGA Lutenent Governor, Dan Patrick is explicitly calling out Housing as a priority this legislative session. - Make sure cities stay affordable - Minimum lot size reform - Other regulations impacting supply

People are always talking about lunatics on public transit. But what about the millions of lunatics on our roads? This kind of shit happens every day without ever making the news.

There are people with sub 80 IQs blasting 6,000lb behemoths through our neighborhoods and school zones. This should scare us all.

There is a special place in Hell for this guy. “Let’s Feed the Homeless” - Create circus side show of giving homeless cigarettes and fireball “Keeping the homeless safe” - Machete and Liter of Vodka “Keeping the homeless in the streets” - Everclear for everyone FUCK THIS GUY

I'm obsessed with this dude on IG whose whole bit is frantically fixing manhole covers that have been misaligned with street markings lol

Peter Thiel: "If you add more people to the mix and you're not allowed to build more houses because of zoning laws, then prices go up a lot, and it's this incredible wealth transfer from the young and the lower middle class to the upper middle class and the landlords."

The California mind cannot comprehend this

15,000 of fans. 350 miles away from home. Dog, my college is a cult. You have literally no idea.

JD really cooked here. - Addresses the housing problem as a supply issue - Tells cities they need to be a partner and work on pro-housing zoning reforms - Lifts up liberal Austin as example of a city that has done these things and seen rents stabilize and even come down

My friend who runs a restaurant in Austin sent me this video of the ads that are playing on Pandora Spanish radio stations. Every commercial kitchen in America is hearing this. Straight out of a dystopian horror film.

What if you could imagine better streets in literally minutes. More bike lanes? street trees? bus lanes? I built a project this weekend to do just that:

Eliminating property taxes and replacing them with a larger consumption or income tax would be a massive mistake. It would hurt economic dynamism. Take it from Milton Friedman: "In my opinion... the least bad tax is the property tax on the unimproved value of land".

Second happiest day of my life after the birth of my daughter.

This actually might be one of his best.

“We used to build 50 homes per planner annually, but now it’s less than 9” In any other profession, this would be seen as an utter failure.
