Balneário Camboriú, Brazil is so mind blowing to me. - 139,000 population - 30 skyscrapers over 150M - 5 (and counting) over 200M - Senna Tower which is about to break ground will be over 550M tall of residential 🤯

California can’t comprehend 3rd world beaches covered by shadow and water full of E. coli, hepatitis and other fecal infections

Remind me, what is the most photographed coastline in the world? Pretty sure it’s Big Sur, because it doesn’t look like this

João Mazzi's profile picture

this place is so horrible that after 1pm you can't go to the beach because the buildings shadows will cover everything

I would never prefer a jungle of concrete over a wonderful beach like San Diego or Malibu, or a coastal line like in Sausalito or SF Bay. Or Santa Barbara.

Because we have this and prefer it this way.

Who wants a concrete jungle along the coast. No thanks.

This looks terrible. All those tall skyscrapers littering the skyline. I'm glad California would never allow this.

The buildings are so tall they cast a shadow most of the afternoon on the beach so people have to go elsewhere in order to actually get sun. They destroyed a previously gorgeous beach town with these stupid towers.

I often show this images to people who think that Brazil is hell or something. The truth is that poor people suffer in most countries and inequality is a problem, but that doesn’t mean a developing country lack high standards of living. Brazil is the top 10 economy of the world.

Get rid of the road, replace it with a streetcar. Car access to the high rises on the inland side only

You're right. What a shithole. Saying that from 10 acres overlooking the ocean in the distance behind a preserve of 10,000 acres. But do built to the sky in a limited number of areas to keep my little piece of paradise as it is. Carry on.

What's unsaid: * Tall buildings, w/condos becomes the expensive real estate * the tall buildings form a wall that reduces the value of the short housing behind it

Forget it man! These streets are flooded all rain season. The traffic during the summer is totally stuck, like 45min for 1km. The high concentration of people, buildings, cars in an inner area cause a lot of problems. But this is a safe place and there are some spots to visit
