Congress didn’t care about Swargiya Chaudhary Charan Singh, even though he spent much of his life serving Congress. The BJP awarded him the Bharat Ratna just after the Kisan Andolan and used it to bring much of western Uttar Pradesh’s Jat belt to its side, helping the alliance win seats there in 2024. The BJP doesn’t fight because that gives its opponents a chance to win.
