7 months ago the Reds made a very public pitch to sign a hometown kid and massive slugger Kyle Schwarber. He decided to re-sign with Philadelphia, it was reported the Reds couldn’t meet the price and Schwaber was weary on the Reds plan to compete. Fast forward 7 months to present day, Kyle Schwarber is leading the league in home runs, the Phillies are 50-41 and Kyle Schwarber blasted a home run 200 MPH in his first game in Cincinnati this year. The Reds on the other hand are in the midst of one of the more disappointing season of my lifetime (30 years old) and are having their broadcast openly promote neon yellow shirts that were handed out at the game tonight so people can take them off, wave them around over their head, and leave them on the ground as they trot out of the stadium watching their Reds fall to 41-49.
