Apparently, I saw this video online and I decided to share. What this worker is applying is called bitumen, or what many of us know as bituminous coating. Most people think a wall is a solid, impenetrable block, but in reality, it is more like a sponge. Concrete and blocks have microscopic pores that pull water from the earth through a process we call capillary action. This thick black substance is the shield that stops that water from climbing up into the house. It is not about making the wall look good because this part will be buried under the dirt forever. It is about creating a skin that water cannot breathe through. When do you need to do this? The need for this arises because the soil is a very aggressive environment. Water is not your only enemy.. The ground also contains salts and sulfates that want to eat away at the cement. If this moisture finds its way to the steel bars inside the columns, those bars will start to rust. And when steel rusts, it expands, and that expansion is what cracks the concrete from the inside out. This coating is the only thing standing between your foundation and that kind of slow destruction. Thats is why if you see wet patches at the bottom of your walls inside your house, it usually means someone skipped this step or did it poorly during construction. You can apply this anytime you are building parts of a structure that will stay in contact with the ground. It is common in areas where the water table is high or where the soil stays damp for most of the year. This is a one-shot opportunity. Once you backfill the soil, you can never go back to fix it without a lot of expense and a lot of digging. It is about having the foresight to protect the heart of the building while it is still exposed. Please don’t ignore this if you need to. If you ignore it now to save a bit of money, you will be funding the future decay of your own home. I hope this helps.

HAVE YOU SEEN THIS VIDEO? It is genuinely painful to watch, right? I know it is because it is for me too. It’s even more painful when you discover that it’s still the same Mudir-ul-Markaz who has been twisting the clear verses of the Quran to fit into modern logic. This is indeed a sign of trial for him. I pray the Almighty guide him alright. Having said that, I want to thank the brothers who have already done a fantastic job refuting this claim that Prophet Nuh (AS) only lived for 95 years, not 950. May Allah bless all of you. But as the Arabs say: "زِيَادَةُ الْخَيْرِ خَيْرَيْنِ" "An increase in good is twice the good." So, while others have attacked the conclusion, I want us to dig up the root. Where is he getting these strange ideas? Be clear that he isn't quoting the Salaf or the classical scholars like Ibn Kathir. He is parroting the Modernist Rationalist School—specifically the likes of Tantawi Jawhari in his book (الجواهر في تفسير القرآن الكريم). These men were obsessed with reconciling the Quran with Western science. So if science said "humans can't live 1000 years," they decided to twist the Quran to mean "months" instead of "years" just to please the critics. It was an inferiority complex masked as enlightenment. But here is why that fails. In the science of Usul al-Fiqh (Principles of Jurisprudence), we don't just guess meanings; we follow rules. The first rock-solid rule here is: "دَلاَلَةُ الْعَدَدِ قَطْعِيَّةٌ لاَ تَقْبَلُ الْمَجَازَ” "The implication of a number is definitive and does not accept metaphor." When Allah mentions a number, it is a mathematical fact. It is not a poetic exaggeration. We see this principle enforced by Allah Himself in Surah Al-Baqarah. When discussing the expiation for Hajj, Allah says to fast three days during Hajj and seven upon returning. He then confirms: "تِلْكَ عَشَرَةٌ كَامِلَةٌ" "Those are ten complete." (Quran 2:196). Why did Allah need to do the math for us? The scholars explain that He added "complete" to cut off any possibility of metaphor. He sealed the number as an exact total. So, when He says "1,000 years minus 50" for Nuh, He is giving us a similar definitive equation. Just as you cannot turn "10 complete" into "a short while; you cannot turn 950 into 95. This leads us to the second principle which protects the integrity of the message: "الْقُرْآنُ نَزَلَ بِلِسَانِ الْعَربِ وَعُرْفِهِم" "The Quran was revealed in the language of the Arabs and their customary understanding." The proof for this is in Surah Yusuf. Allah says: "إِنَّا أَنزَلْنَاهُ قُرْآنًا عَرَبِيًّا لَّعَلَّكُمْ تَعْقِلُونَ" "Indeed, We have sent it down as an Arabic Quran that you might understand." (Quran 12:2). The key phrase here is "that you might understand." When the Quran used the word "Sanah" (Year) to the Arabs of the 7th century, they understood it as a full solar cycle. If Allah actually meant "a lunar month" or "a harvest season" (which was a Babylonian concept) but used the Arabic word for "Year," the Arabs would have been confused. They would not have understood. That would be تَعْمِيَة (obfuscation). And Allah does not trick His slaves. He speaks to them in words they understand. So, no, it wasn't 95 years. It was 950. Let’s not let an inferiority complex towards modern science force us to rewrite our own Book. Allah knows best.

"AL-MUFTOQAH" IS NOT COMEDY: IT IS THEFT AND EATING FILTH This clown may sound funny, but seriously he is not. It gets even worse when you realize he is not just promoting theft but telling people to consume what Allah has explicitly forbidden in the Quran. More painfully, you see Muslim brothers and sisters sharing it. He mentions animals hit by cars or bikes and those that just drop dead, calling them "Muftoqah" and saying they are free to eat. This is a direct violation of Surah Al-Ma'idah, Verse 3. Allah clearly forbids Al-Mawqudhah (animals killed by a violent blow) and Al-Maytah (dead animals/carrion). When a car or Okada hits an animal and it dies, it is filth. It is Haram. Yet this man screams at the top of his lungs for you to "put Maggi and curry" on it. He is literally inviting people to fill their stomachs with rot and disobedience. Let us be clear on the substance because the truth must be separated from this nonsense. Islam, especially on this subject has a strict rule on lost property, which is known as اللقطة (Al-Luqata). You cannot just pick up a stray animal and claim it is a gift from God. There are procedures for announcing it and keeping it safe for the owner. But he ignores all of that. He ignores the rights of the owner and he ignores the laws of slaughtering. He is trying to turn the prohibited into a joke so you will swallow it without thinking. Do not let social media clowns teach you your religion. When he says "Motor jam it, Okada jam it," he is describing filth that is unfit for a believer. Eating roadkill or animals that died without the name of Allah being mentioned at the time of proper slaughter is a major sin. He is mixing theft with the consumption of Haram meat and serving it to the public as entertainment. We must reject this completely and warn others that "Muftoqah" is nothing but a ticket to eating what Allah has declared unclean.

MAY GOD BLESS DR SHARAFUD-DEEN You won’t know how happy I am watching this video. I am so glad that Yoruba land has reputable scholars, unlike the Agege people. As expected, Dr Sharaf excellently displayed his depth of knowledge here yet again. Did you see how he introduced his book on inheritance (Al-Faraid)? He identified a specific problem before offering his solution. He observed that many existing texts in the Maliki school focus heavily on the theory (Fiqh) but often leave students struggling with the actual mathematics (Hisab) needed to calculate shares. He saw that gap and wrote this book to combine both deep understanding and practical calculation. This is a massive lesson for us young people. Real intellectual work is about finding the "Research Gap." It is about stopping to ask, "What is everyone else missing?" and then building a bridge to fix it. Dr Sharaf went deep, researching across schools to isolate exactly where the Maliki methodology stands uniquely, such as in the specific cases where they differ from Zaid ibn Thabit. He also codified the "binding laws" (Dawabit) that govern the subject, proving that you haven't mastered a science until you can define the laws that restrict it. Whether you are in Islamic studies, engineering, or business, this is the blueprint. Be a researcher who adds value by organising chaos and solving the problems others have overlooked. I can’t wait to buy the book and learn from his wealth of knowledge. May Allah reward our teacher, preserve him, and accept this heavy work as a Sadaqah Jariyah.
