Given the state of Victoria’s budget, it is crystal clear the Suburban Rail Loop will not be realised in full without substantial Commonwealth support. Yet from the FOI I sought it appears that no information has been shared by the Victorian government to Infrastructure Australia in the last 2 years to allow the project to be properly assessed. As far as I’m concerned, no Commonwealth money should be released for this project without all the facts.

Today the State govt announced plans for high-density housing projects near railway stations in Goldstein. You can't just make up housing policy and announce it in the newspapers. I hope the State has some kind of a plan to consult our community. If it does, I haven't seen it yet.

Today I introduced my Private Members’ Bill in Parliament to address the urgent need for Australia to have comprehensive and effective laws to combat the harms caused by social media. It’s time the Big-Tech giants were made to manage their algorithms to make our online experience safe. It’s time we stopped asking users and parents to find a solution for social media harm. It’s time the operators of these platforms stepped up. That’s what my Bill will achieve.
