When I came to Sweden, I thought it would be festive, grand and full of opportunities. And in many ways, it certainly was. But I also had to face war, crises and unexpected challenges. After five years, I am leaving Sweden with many memories, more press clippings than I could ever have imagined, and, despite everything, a strong belief in the future. I will miss the aurora in the north, the rapeseed fields in the south and, of course, the Swedish archipelago, both east and west. And to all my friends, the Jewish community, and everyone who has supported Israel, thank you for everything we have accomplished together. And thank you, Sweden, for the memories. I hope to see you in Israel!

I’m standing here in Tel Aviv’s Hostage Square where thousands of people are showing up to show solidarity with the families of the hostages in this great moment of joy and optimism. We didn’t start this war. We didn’t want this war. We’ve said all along that it could end immediately once Hamas releases our hostages and gives up its military grip of Gaza. Finally after 733 days, thanks to President Trump’s peace plan there is hope for the return of our hostages and for a better future for the Middle East.
