In April this year, the Department of Home Affairs approved a $110,000 grant to OZ Arab Media Pty Ltd under its Independent Multicultural Media Transformation and Sustainability program. The program’s stated purpose is to “support social cohesion” and help independent multicultural outlets move to digital media 🌈🦄 Here is the "social cohesion" they are doing with our money 👇 There are plenty more examples of this, but I caught this one yesterday. Here they platform Sydney-based rabid antizionist Taveet Sinanian, who says that on October 7 he was disturbed not by women being raped, elderly people being burned alive, fathers being murdered in front of their kids, old and young people abducted into Gazan tunnels... No, he wasn't upset about that. He was disturbed because he predicted the Jews would retaliate.... Imagine being such an out-and-proud racist and still calling yourself a human-rights activist. Idk wtf our money is going towards this trash. How does this improve Australia or social cohesion?

I went from volunteering with Muslim refugees because I thought Islamophobia was the most pressing issue in Australia (lol, 20-yr-old-woman mentality) to coming to question whether Islam is compatible with Australian values. Chama Mechtaly (MillennialMoor) explains how my instinct to care was also the very impulse that certain Islamist organisations have learned to exploit.

Jewish Australians celebrating Hanukkah on Bondi Beach could not be further removed from the politics of the Middle East. And yet they, too, have been targeted—evidence that this ideology does not stop at borders, and does not require proximity to Israel to find its victims.
