When BMW launched the X5 in 1999, it invented the idea of the “Sport Activity Vehicle.” But in 2004, they went one step further with the 4.8is. Under the bonnet sat a naturally aspirated N62 V8 making 360 HP which is in the facelifted model in place of the older M62, paired with sport suspension, unique styling, and massive 20-inch wheels. It was one of the first SUVs that could actually handle twisty roads better than the average bloated and slower lumps. Audi RS4 B7. Peak RS4 for many enthusiasts. The... 4.2 FSI naturally aspirated V8, around 414 hp, paired with a manual gearbox only. Audi was serious about this car. And unlike the M3 or C63 at the time, the RS4 had Quattro AWD, which gave it insane traction. The engine revs high and sounds incredible, although owners know about the carbon build up issue these engines can develop and that they love their timing chain jobs, so missing them just hurts the engine. Still one of the most loved RS cars Audi ever built.show more
