A Chicago man who has a long criminal record... of physically attacking random people has been arrested and charged with felonies for two random attacks in June. An investigation by CBS News Chicago found William Livingston has been arrested at least 20 times dating back to 2012 but keeps being released from custody. In June, Livingston was identified by two victims as their attacker. He struck a 40-year-old woman and a 29-year-old woman in separate incidents in the 2700 block of North Clark Street on June 12. One of those victims, Anne Kurze, identified him from a police lineup as her attacker. «He stood about this far from me, and punched me, and then kept walking north up the street,» she told CBS News Investigative Reporter Dave Savini. CBS News Chicago spoke with Kruze today after charges in her attack were formally filed. «Any day he is off the street is a good day,» she said. «It does stir up a lot of big feelings, a lot of free floating anxiety, fear, that feeling of being so scared back in June.»show more

A 65-year-old Chicago man is facing felony charges after... Sheriff’s Police identified him as the person responsible for stealing more than $8,000 in high-end athleticwear. At approximately 10:15 a.m. on Aug. 18, Lululemon loss prevention notified Sheriff’s Police Organized Retail Crime investigators that a man took dozens of items from their store in 900 block of West Randolph Street in Chicago and fled without paying for them. Unbeknownst to the man, one of the items had a GPS tracker. The item appeared to be tracking to a Green Line train. An investigator boarded the train ahead of where it was tracking and ultimately found the man sitting on the train with a large bag with him. The man identified as Frederick Campbell, was taken into custody, and taken off the train. Investigators recovered $4,620 in merchandise from the bag. Upon further investigation, investigators identified Campbell as the person responsible for a previous theft at the same store, where more than $3,800 in merchandise was taken. Later that day, the Cook County State’s Attorney’s Office charged him with two counts of felony retail theft. He was ordered released from custody on Aug. 19 following his first appearance hearing at the George N. Leighton Criminal Courthouse. This is why he was fired," Joint Commissioner of Police Vijay Kumar said. He was arrested from a hotel in the Dwarka area, where he had been hiding. According to police, the woman was found by her family members inside the house under suspicious circumstances, after which the authorities were alerted. The victim had completed her schooling at DPS RK Puram and later graduated from IIT Delhi. She was preparing for the UPSC examination. She was also a dancer and had won several awards in dance competitions. Her elder brother holds a senior position in a multinational company, and her mother is a doctor. When police reached Rahul's residence in Alwar, they found that he had previously been involved in a sexual harassment case. Police said the accused arrived in Delhi from Alwar the previous night and is suspected to have entered the house using a spare key.
