A HOSTAGE ASKED FOR ONE THING BEFORE HE WAS... MURDERED Remember this name. Ori Danino. His picture appears in the first comment below. Ori was at the Nova party on October 7. He escaped to his car and was driving to safety. Some people who he first met the day before at the party called him and asked if he could help them. Ori turned his car around. He drove back to the site of the terror attack. Ori went back to save Maya and Itay Regev, and Omer Shem Tov. All four were taken hostage. But Ori didn’t allow himself to be taken hostage easily. He punched the terrorist who kidnapped him, breaking his skull and causing him to lose his sight. At some point during the kidnapping Ori was shot in the shoulder and ended up in captivity in Gaza with a bullet lodged in his shoulder. During the first few days in captivity Ori physically fought with the Hamas terrorists so that they would give medical treatment to Hersh Goldberg Polin, whose arm was blown off during the kidnapping. Thanks to Ori’s struggle, the terrorists worked to at least close Hersh’s wound. Ori spent time in captivity with Eliya Cohen. Ori asked Eliyah to promise that if Ori was killed but Eliya survived, he would make sure that a Torah scroll was written in his memory. Ori was executed by Hamas terrorists in September. Eliya was freed after spending 505 days in captivity. (The three hostages that Ori went back to save - Maya and Itay Regev, and Omer Shem Tov - have also been released) Eliya told Ori’s family about his wish for a Torah scroll to be written in his memory. And a few days ago, his wish was fulfilled. Going to the hospital was also deeply triggering for him, as it brought back the trauma he endured in a hospital in Gaza. Tanzanian hostage Joshua Mollel’s body has been returned to... Israel 732 days after he was murdered by Hamas terrorists. Many of you will remember the video of him being stabbed and then shot by the terrorists on October 7th 2023. 21-year-old Joshua was an agricultural student who arrived in Israel just weeks before the attack. This man was driving in stop and go traffic... with wet road conditions. The people in front hit their brakes but he doesn’t hit his at first, he speeds up a little and swerves into the left shoulder lane and the truck with a trailer behind him smashes into the car in front of him causing a chain reaction accident of cars. Some say he might be to blame because he didn’t brake because he was going to fast himself and it didn’t give the truck behind him enough time to stop. Others say no way, he had great defensive driving skills being aware of what was happening behind him. I am constantly looking in my rearview mirror and have swerved many times to avoid being hit from behind. This man was expecting his new furniture delivery, he... took the day off from work so that he could have them carry the heavy new ones in since he was alone. Later that day during their ridiculously long delivery window, he gets a text saying that he missed the delivery and to click a link to reschedule. He was confused because he’s been home all day and he never gotten any indication anyone came. He checked his door cam and saw that they did come, pretended to ring the doorbell while taking a picture to prove to the boss that they came, and then left.
