A Pap smear is a screening test that takes a sample of cells from the cervix. The aim is to detect cellular changes before they turn into cancer. Because cervical cancer is not a disease that develops suddenly; it is mostly the result of long-term cellular changes. The most critical point is this: Most patients feel nothing in the early stages. So, the approach of "if there are no symptoms, there is no problem" is not valid for this disease. PHOTON COUNTING CT AND A NEW CONCEPT OF NORMAL... CORONARY ARTERIES For more than 2 decades we have been performing Cardiac CT with constant improvements in all parameters (spatial, temporal and contrast resolution). The improvements were progressive in certain fields and steep in other (e.g.: the introduction of Dual Source CT that completely changed the range of temporal resolution achievable basically overnight and still is the most important source of flexibility in Cardiac CT scanning after almost 20 years). Spatial resolution instead was improved in a slow and progressive way until the test EID CT generations that achieved a spatial resolution of 250 microns. This allowed us to assess a coronary artery tree and define it as normal when no apprentice changes were visibile up to that value. But we know that the normal thickness of coronary artery walls is quite below that threshold. It is more in the range of 80-200 microns. Therefore, the very early changes in coronary artery wall thickness could not be picked up by EID CT technology. With the introduction of PCCT we can constantly achieve 100 microns spatial resolution which means that we work extol in range in which coronary artery disease starts. It also means that we don't see any thickening of the the coronary artery walls we have a much higher specificity and reliability. This concept is a transformative one because it allows us to shift earlier and earlier the beginning of atherosclerosis in our patients and think even more precisely in terms of cardiovascular prevention and monitoring. One cool idea I had to make that more useful and made now: Let people make a 3d model then change the view of the it with the 3d viewer, then press [ o ] and it grabs a frame of the 3d That image you can then [ Remix ] (img2img), and it becomes a real photo again and that in turn you can then turn into a video again with [ Make video ] So that essentially gives you a fully freeform camera position control to take photos with One thing I need to fix is the background/skybox, I kinda need to take the original photo and remove the person and just get the background for the 3d model viewer, in this case it should be white, but it's a start!show more

There’s a developmental milestone known as object permanence and sometimes parents overthink it. In a nutshell it’s the understanding that things continue to exist even when they’re out of sight - and it typically develops somewhere between 6-9 months. Does that mean you cease to exist (to your baby) when you go to work or the grocery store? It can be kind of a scary thought to new parents. The answer, even before the development of object permanence, is no. But it may mean that (even for your toddler) you’re misattributing adult forms of memory to your little one. Infants and toddlers both live very much in the moment and are still developing the type of robust narrative memory we possess as adults. So while you’re gone, it’s not that you cease to exist. It’s more a case of “out of sight, out of mind.” Will they recognize you when you return? Will they be excited to see you? Three wanted suspects have been killed in a gunfight... with KZN police in Kranskop during the early hours of this morning. According to the SAPS: "Police acted on intelligence which uncovered the whereabout of the suspects and when they approached a residence at Mambulu area, a shootout ensued between police and an unknown number of suspects. Three suspects were shot and fatally wounded during the shootout and they were found in possession of firearms." The men are linked to this brazen cash van robbery in Kranskop in April this year, where one robber was killed in the explosion. Because of the generality of foundation models, ASAL can discover new lifeforms across a diverse range of seminal ALife simulations, including Boids, Particle Life, Game of Life, Lenia, and Neural Cellular Automata. ASAL even discovered novel cellular automata rules that are more open-ended and expressive than the original Conway’s Game of Life.
