While we were sitting around at Thanksgiving with our... families, there was a family that was enduring what may be their most painful Thanksgiving that will carry over to each year when this time comes around. Sarah Beckstrom, 20, was shot and critically injured in Washington D.C. November 26, 2025, the day before Thanksgiving. On November 27, 2025, Sarah Beckstrom succumbed to her injuries and as her father said "has passed on to glory". Every Thanksgiving that we have from here on out, we should not only remember what we are thankful for but also the sacrifice that Sarah Beckstrom made. Gone but not forgotten! If you think OpenAI Sora is a creative toy... like DALLE, ... think again. Sora is a data-driven physics engine. It is a simulation of many worlds, real or fantastical. The simulator learns intricate rendering, "intuitive" physics, long-horizon reasoning, and semantic grounding, all by some denoising and gradient maths. I won't be surprised if Sora is trained on lots of synthetic data using Unreal Engine 5. It has to be! Let's breakdown the following video. Prompt: "Photorealistic closeup video of two pirate ships battling each other as they sail inside a cup of coffee." - The simulator instantiates two exquisite 3D assets: pirate ships with different decorations. Sora has to solve text-to-3D implicitly in its latent space. - The 3D objects are consistently animated as they sail and avoid each other's paths. - Fluid dynamics of the coffee, even the foams that form around the ships. Fluid simulation is an entire sub-field of computer graphics, which traditionally requires very complex algorithms and equations. - Photorealism, almost like rendering with raytracing. - The simulator takes into account the small size of the cup compared to oceans, and applies tilt-shift photography to give a "minuscule" vibe. - The semantics of the scene does not exist in the real world, but the engine still implements the correct physical rules that we expect. Next up: add more modalities and conditioning, then we have a full data-driven UE that will replace all the hand-engineered graphics pipelines.show more

After 50 hours, God of war Sons of Sparta... Platinum 100% is done! Full thoughts: - The game gets better and better the more you play - Boss fights where awesome - Fun to see Kratos as a kid but also wish you could play sections in 2D as the adult - OST is incredible - From a Metroivania point of view it's decent, it's not the best but also not the worst - From a god of war perspectively it's definitely better, it has a lot of old school stuff - Side stuff where ok, mostly not needed - I really like the art style, playstation definitely needs more different art styles Basically there are 2 sides here, if you're a god of war fan then obviously this is a must play since it adds to the lore, story and pure fun. So that way worth asking price However if you're a Metroivania super fan or casual GOW fan then better to wait for a sale if you want to play it. Either way, it's a fun game and Sony needs imo more of these "smaller" scale games.show more

LinkedIn wrapped is here! And it's made with Rive... Stoked to be invited by BUCK to join the project. I wasn’t actually animating the thing though I had more of a technical assignment and we had quite a few things to solve. There is 9 chapters total (but not everyone sees all the chapters or even all the slides in given chapter) in 3 languages, the data being sent to Rive is raw so we had to cover for many variables: - A progress bar aware what chapters are included for given user - A progress bar checking what slides are included for and logging their duration time to progress bar - A custom slider solution (the default Rive slider is not enough if you turn contents on and off) - A State Machine logic aware of chapters or slides skipped from playback - A custom slider behavior for when there is auto-slide (instant) and tap-slide (slide animation) - A custom text-length tracker for to dynamically change font-size for long strings - A custom screen ratio tracker to scale down the UI for small screens - Handling dynamically handle big numbers (10,000 becomes 10k etc.) - Handling translations (3 languages) - Super complex behaviour for when if some data-point is missing we don’t leave a blank space, but it is being replaced with other data point instead (so some user se A-B-C, but some will see only B-C as if A never existed without leaving blank space) - Rage click prevention Amazing experience, thanks for having me. People at BUCK are absolutely goated, kudos to everyone who was helping me and to everyone who was actually doing the animations, stunning. Is it the biggest Rive exposure yet? Maybe Riveshow more

Copepods, could stop climate change 5 gigatons of these... 1mm-sized zooplankton called COPEPODS live in all the world’s Oceans. This is equivalent to 17 million 747 jets, and if you laid the jets end to end, they would go around the planet 31 times. The copepods migrate from around 200m below the ocean surface every night to feed on plants (phytoplankton) at the surface. It is the greatest mass migration of animals on the planet, and it happens twice a day. The vertical motion of the copepods moves just about as much water as the moon and the tides. The copepods eat 30 times more carbon than humanity generates from burning fossil fuels, and about 6%, or 3 gigatons, of their dead bodies and poop end up in the world’s largest carbon bank, the Abyss. The Abyss contains 500m to 1000’s of meters thick layer of organic carbon / mineral sludge with an area greater area than dry land on the planet. Yet humanity has wiped out more than 50% of marine plankton productivity over the last 70 years due to chemical and particle pollution. We have also wiped out 50% of Arctic krill, which are just as important. and we are now even contemplating dredging the ocean floor! We would not have had climate change if we had not poisoned and destroyed most of the world’s oceans. By 2045, the destruction will be complete unless we act now to stop the inevitable annihilation of nature and life on Earth. Let’s put things into perspective, in comparison to protecting nature, carbon mitigation, windmills and electric cars are almost a joke. It's important to know that the Thing which is... sometimes called a "camel spider" is better called a solpugid or solifugid. It's not a spider at all. It has no venom glands, and kills prey by crunching them up with their massive jaws (the most powerful for their size of any animal). A really big one can nip you, and probably draw blood if you let it hang on long enough. But no venom of any sort. They just look super scary. I kept one as a pet for a while but it was a pretty terrible pet because all it wanted to do was escape the terrarium 24/7. Spiders, scorpions, and mantises are way more chill.show more

Why does my cat stalk towards me as though... I am prey? I only caught the tail end of this occurrence in the video, but about once a week I notice my cat (5 months) stalking towards me like this (she typically starts from much farther away and goes even slower). The weirdest part to me is that she only really does it towards me, not my husband. I’ve also seen her stalk prey before and she doesn’t usually continuously move in slow motion like this, she typically walks forward, pauses and assesses for a while, and then goes for the kill. Usually when she does this to me, she ends up snapping out of it due to movement or sound elsewhere, so she’s never pounced or anything - at most she jumps up next to me and then goes back to normal. I’m a new cat owner so this may be typical behavior, but it is so bizarre to me that this behavior seems reserved for me alone - not my husband, not our dog who she loves wrestling with (thanks reddit for clearing that up), and not the bugs she preys on. I was laughing in this video because she was cracking me up, but sometimes it genuinely freaks me out a bit, I feel like prey and I don’t like it 😶 I would love to hear any thoughts on the matter, if nothing else just enjoy this clip of my cat being an apex predator lolshow more

I'm not a MultiversX $EGLD maximalist. There are many... other chains that I like and resonate with for different reasons, like $XNO, $XMR, $SUI $ALGO, $XRD, $DASH, $ADA, $AVAX, $BCH, $NEAR etc. However, I believe Multiversˣ has the biggest asymmetry at this point. And for that, I mean, not only looking at egold from an investment perspective (which is also true, with massive growth potential, in my opinion), but also (and much more) from an ecosystem perspective. The ecosystem is still small and super welcoming to active contributors. Starting to contribute now, or building something within the ecosystem now, offers a huge asymmetric reward for the long run if MultiversX grows as much as I think it could. This, of course, is also a sort of bet and has its risks, but the risk-reward ratio is positive from my assessment and this is precisely what I'm doing. Anyone building a reputation, a brand, a business, or simply a network around MvX, now, is positioning for the future. This is the most valuable asymmetry in my opinion. Even bigger than simply buying EGLD, which I also believe will be very rewarding soon, but anyways. Build something. Whatever that is. Start now. What's your opinion about what I said here?show more

Getting to know: Trisha! ----- Bitterest rival turned to... the best of friends to Kezia, Trisha serves as KettleCorp's COO. Where Kezia is out making sure the Kettleverse doesn't collapse upon itself, Trisha keeps the shell corporation from collapsing on itself! While a cold, strict businesswoman at work, she's the most gentle and loving lady one could ever hope to be around off the job. Trisha has had to learn to be gentle ever since receiving her 'gift' years ago from the late 'Mr. K', who was seeking to create both a capable secretary and bodyguard: Nanites embued with 'chaotic essence' flow through her bloodstream that permanently increased her body size to an impressive 275 cm. Not only does this allow her wildly heightened strength, the nanites also allow her to manipulate her body mass at will. With enough concentration, Trisha can reach into the atmosphere with her height alone. The result? A gentle giantess, ready to love and protect those she holds most dear. Don't be intimidated by her size, instead be intimidated by the possibilities of having a 'Giant Goth GF'! #AIイラスト︎︎ #AIart #AISlop #GiantessGrowthshow more

⚔️ Kingdom Come Deliverance first impressions ⚔️ Loving it... so far, basically a medieval detective simulator that really doesn't care that you are the main character. And I'm all here for it. ▪️The WORLD is the real star of the show here and even though it's got plenty of jank and lots of copy and paste NPC faces, it just feels so IMMERSIVE. Even the UI just transports me to the times with a bright colourful medieval art style. ▪️The MUSIC I love, absolutely sells the world and basically ASMR as you trot around on your horse through the world. ▪️THE Combat is a real interesting one, it's got quite the learning curve which I actually LIKE, it definitely has some jank to it as well but I really appreciate the attempt at an original and nuanced combat system. (Having to stop your bleeding with bandages is really cool) ▪️The Story has gripped me (19 hours in so far) And while it seems a simple revenge story on the face of it, I think the story is more about Henry making his way through the world after the horrors of Skallitz. The writing quality is top notch as well as the quest design also. ▪️The CHARACTERS are amazing and the humour is top notch. I'm not sure the last time I laughed so much at a game. Henry is great and so well voiced by Tom McKay This really feels like Warhorse Studios have put a lot of love and work into making an authentic medieval world and as a bit of a medieval nerd I can't get enough of this game. A True RPG as well by all accounts, the game really makes me think hard about how to approach situations. Also I can't wait to get to KCD2.show more

Somalians in Minnesota have been in the news a... lot. As someone who has lived in Minnesota my whole life I want to share my perspective. First we need to separate groups. A lot of people are saying things like we should deport all Somalians. That is wrong. Many Somalians were born here or moved here decades ago and they consider themselves American first. They raise families here, contribute to their communities, and see this country as home. Treating them as anything less than American is wrong. With that said there is a different group of Somalians that people in Minnesota talk about privately but are afraid to say out loud. Starting in the late 2000s and continuing since then, large numbers of Somalians were imported here from Somalia who do not see themselves as American, they identify as Somalian only. Many do not speak English, many do not work, and many do not support American law and norms. People who live in Minneapolis or around have seen this. This group has not been a net positive economically, socially, or culturally. They have also gained a large amount of political power in a short period of time. This is why you see Minneapolis politicians speaking Somalian instead of English, and why the Minnesota flag was changed to look almost identical to the Somalian flag. People in Minnesota are not surprised by the recent fraud stories. The scale is shocking but the behavior itself is not. Everyone in Minnesota has seen what Minneapolis has become, and it’s sad. Most people in Minnesota don’t say anything about it cause they know they will get in trouble if they do. This does not mean every Somalian person fits this description, and we should not generalize in totality at all. But Minneapolis is a fallen city, and anyone who lives in it or around it knows this even though most won’t say it out loud.show more

People don’t grasp the magnitude of what Lee Know... did at the MAMA Awards 2025. He showed why he is considered, not only the best dancer and performer of his generation, but also in the top 5 of all K-pop idols. He performed for more than 10 minutes with such a severe leg injury that makes it impossible for him to walk properly, needing a wheelchair to get around. Even with this, he delivered an outstanding performance, one at the same level of quality as every one of his presentations. It's not only an inspiration, but a pride and joy to stan someone like him. STAYS and Jewels can say with the outmost confidence that they stan an idol that comes once in a lifetime. I really like the answer Namjoon gave here.. Jimin... feeling like a year and half to write six songs is too long especially since he’s grown up watching mostly the hyungs churn out 10 to 20 songs in half the time he took. And Namjoon, instead of feeding into that little doubt Jimin is clearly having, he turns the point towards Jimin’s ability to pick up a dance choreo so much faster than the rest of them. What Namjoon does here is completely eliminating the notion of a comparison. Its like he’s trying to say that Jimin taking 15 months to write 6 songs but half an hour to learn a choreo while he himself may take 6 months to write 15 songs but take days to pick up their choreo shouldn’t matter because with them it’s never been a competition. It shows the level of respect and understanding they have for one another as a group but also as distinct individuals that bring different aspects of their talents and gifts to the table. They just really do not see each other’s shortcomings as shortcomings. Which is very admirable. ‘Cause no two people are the same. And it really does take a significant amount of insight to be able to recognise something like this.show more

TW. Faking S*icide We strive to be an account... that does not spread negativity, but unfortunately it has come to the point where we can no longer accept the behaviour a certain XLOV ‘fan’ account has displayed. This started on the 23.12.24, where this account had attacked our admin team for creating a EVOL community as they had already made one, we tried to explain that it’s normal for fanbases to have multiple communities and that we shouldn’t be in competition as we are all supporting the same group. This then drastically escalated as they pretend to unalive themselves and blamed our account for this. We decided to move on from this as it was a concealed issue in the groupchat and we concluded that they were probably young and immature. We encountered no issues with them since this, that was until today. Today they had seemingly logged back into their account to post HATE towards Hyun. We absolutely and utterly do NOT condone this. This is beyond disgusting behaviour and no matter their age, they should know better. Their account has been deleted since, but since they have previously shared their names (also allegedly goes by Kevy, a person who runs several fan accounts for groups) and also have created an XLOV discord server (we are unsure as to whether or not this is still active) we urge EVOL to be aware of this person or anyone with a similar name displaying similar behaviour. We also urge EVOL to report and block any accounts spreading negativity and hate towards our boys, thankfully there have been little issues in our fanbase, but with posts like this appearing, please keep an eye out.show more

Lady Gaga says you have committed violence by objecting... to her celebration of Dylan Mulvaney on International Women’s Day. “It's appalling to me that a post about National Women's Day by Dylan Mulvaney and me would be met with such vitriol and hatred. When I see a newspaper reporting on hatred but calling it ‘backlash’ I feel it is important to clarify that hatred is hatred, and this kind of hatred is violence. “Backlash would imply that people who love or respect Dylan and me didn't like something we did. This is not backlash. This is hatred. “But it is not surprising given the immense work that it's obvious we still have to do as a society to make room for transgender lives to be cherished and upheld by all of us. “I feel very protective in this moment, not only of Dylan, but of the trans community who continues to lead the way with their endless grace and inspiration in the face of constant degradation, intolerance, and physical, verbal, and mental violence. I certainly do not speak for this community, but I have something to say. I hope all women will come together to honor us ALL for International Women's Day, and may we do that always until THE DAY that all women are celebrated equally. That all people are celebrated equally. A day where people of all gender identities are celebrated on whichever holiday speaks to them. Because people of all gender identities and races deserve peace and dignity. “May we all come together and be loving, accepting, warm, welcoming. May we all stand and honor the complexity and challenge of trans life-that we do not know, but can seek to understand and have compassion for. I love people too much to allow hatred to be referred to as ‘backlash.’ People deserve better.”show more

RHP Cole Leaman (Lehigh Baseball) is an arm I'm... really looking forward to following this spring. Fresh off a strong Sophomore season in which he worked a 2.31 ERA with 49 Ks to 23 BB across 46.2 IP. Showed some positive flashes on the Cape. While slightly undersized, Leaman has a strong and athletic build at 6' and 190-lbs. Has put on a lot of good weight over the last couple of years. Leaman has almost a "check point" delivery in which he takes a noticeable side step towards the 1B side, gathers himself and breaks into the rest of his motion. Lengthy arm stroke and attacks from a high-3/4 slot from a low release height. Leaman is a high-level athlete and a dynamic mover on the mound. Sits really well on his back glute and his lead leg block enables him to generate power and drive his back side through. Drop and drive delivery. Little bit of effort, but plenty of arm speed. Leaman's FB sits in the 91-94 range, but it was up to 96 this summer and 98 this fall. Jumps out of his hand from a ~5'3" release height and flashes riding life through the zone. Averaged 15" of carry this summer and 2,361 RPMs. Gets over the barrels of opposing hitters when located in the top-1/2 of the zone, which is where the pitch is at its best. Command can be erratic at times. Would give it a 55. Leaman's most-used off speed pitch is a high-70s-to-low-80s CB. Shape is inconsistent and it can get a little slurvy at times, but he snapped off a handful of really good ones between the spring and summer. When it's at its best, it will flash a bigger shape with sharp, downward tilt. Leaman will also mix in a low-to-mid-80s SL that's distinct in shape. Another pitch he's still gaining a feel for, but like his CB it's also shown big time flashes. Shape of it will vary, but it will sometimes flash plus with sharp, two-plane break (more sweep than depth) and essentially take a late, hard left turn. Rounds out his arsenal with a high-80s cutter and a mid-to-high-80s CH. The former is more intriguing than the latter. Curious to see how much he uses the cutter this spring, threw a couple this summer that had late glove-side life. Leaman has a very intriguing blend of athleticism and stuff, though he'll need to iron out his command and control in order to maximize his upside. As mentioned, it's a bit scattered right now and has hindered him in some starts. 5th-8th round type this July. (📽️: Falmouth Commodores)show more
