A tour of the post-processing features in my WebGPU... engine. Chaining global passes like blur, bloom, and pixelate, on top of a disturb pipeline with its own options: distortion, black and white, lighten, darken, noise, RGB split, and more. It also supports layer and plane UV isolation. Planes can have optional shadows and rounded borders. Behind-the-scenes split view shows the raw pass vs final composite. Built from scratch with the WebGPU JavaScript API. Lightweight, minimal code, 0 dependencies, modular custom components 🧩. Next, vertex work and finish the MTSDF generator I’m building in Rust. ✨show more

My MTSDF generator is ready, built in Rust. The... output is highly optimized and plugs directly into my WebGPU engine, using instanced glyphs. Text now aligns perfectly between canvas and HTML, whatever the font used, with accurate position, letter spacing and line height. 🦀 Next step is a particles module: simulation, point cloud, gaussian splatting. 🫧show more

Experimenting with the pretext library... saw a brick breaker... demo and had to try making it in PixiJS. Wanted to see what happens when you add WebGL/WebGPU shaders to the mix. Using bloom, glow, rgb split filters from pixi-filters. plus gsaps physics plugin for the text effect.show more

New from PocketJS: quickjs-oxide. A JavaScript interpreter modeled after... QuickJS, implemented from scratch by AI in Rust with zero unsafe code, and the first of its kind to achieve performance competitive with the original QuickJS. We spent one month achieving a high Test262 pass rate, then another month cleaning up the code, getting rid of the AI slop, and reaching competitive performance with just a stack VM and reference counting. Over the last weekend at RustChinaConf, we rewrote the core into a register VM and achieved this level of performance in just two days. Now quickjs-oxide outperforms most non-JIT JavaScript engines on benchmarks like V8 v7 and the Octane suite, using only around 30% more memory than QuickJS, while maintaining zero lines of unsafe implementation code and no external dependencies except for BigInt support. Huge credit to Ericoolen(薄肌版) for making this happen, and massive thanks to our sponsor Zephyr Cloud for supporting the journey!show more

🟢 News: GPU compute in the browser is finally... real. WebGPU now ships by default in Chrome, Firefox, Safari, and Edge—not a polyfill, not behind a flag. You can run LLMs client-side. Transformers.js and ONNX Runtime already ship WebGPU backends. Eight years of spec work. No more asterisks. 🔗 #WebGPU #GPU #Chrome #Safari #Firefox #Edgeshow more

I am summing up our interaction with big boys... of global engine supply chain in Wings India. Pratt & Whitney and Rolls Royce stated : An engine is a complex and strategic tech, most of the players have mastered it with more than half a century of continous efforts. India has shown phenomonal efforts and progress in their pursuit of developing of an engine. India has the minds, it just need a right collabration to speed up the process which can take 10-15 years on its own.show more

Aware is (basically) a browser we're building to explore... personal computing and generative, malleable software. it keeps a footprint of the materials (pages, files) as a graph in a relational database stored locally. Been writing my paper in my own latex editor inside Aware. It's very satisfying when software fixes itself and fetches its own context and attach them to the right parts. The editor is an experiment of "interface as a skill": the editor's code and its skill live in the paper's repo, so the same agent that knows my code and data also lives in the editor. So i get: 1. an interface i can reprogram any part anytime (aesthetics i like, and the scratch pad i always wanted) 2. an agent living in the editor, with the whole project as context (a figure links to the dashboard, built from the real analysis code that made it) (though i have to admit, some of my focused writing time now goes to wanting to tweak the editor instead)show more

Getting a bunch of questions about this! It's a... full gpu rendering pipeline with built in shader editor for Rive, which can interleave 2D + 3D. Think WebGPU (minus compute, for now) that runs anywhere, not just the browser. You can implement anything at all. Cell shading. Background blurs. Deformation effects. And yes, even Rive vector components as textures. Shaders are precompiled and ship with your .riv. Minimal runtime size impact. Still WIP.show more
