A UX pattern I like: inline dialogs. Instead of... blurring the whole background, just push the main content out of focus and replace it with the dialog. Navigation and header stay accessible, and it feels less obtrusive than a standard modal.show more

I don't know what's worse: •Letting the gas nozzle... fall out and spill everywhere •Laughing hysterically about it instead of shutting it off immediately •Recording the whole thing •Then POSTING it online like it's content Oh, and just a friendly reminder: these are the same people voting in our elections. 😬⛽show more

Made a small dialog animation improvement at Linear: Matched... the previously mismatched animation duration of overlay and the dialog + swapped spring animaton for an ease-out one so it feels less abrupt. Toast at the bottom right shows whether it’s before or after.show more

2 WOMEN. 1 GROCERY STORE. AND THE CAMERA CATCHES... A MOMENT THAT LOOKS TOO PERFECTLY CASUAL. They are standing in the middle of a store aisle like this is completely normal. One is talking. The other turns toward the camera. Then the interaction changes. > The fluorescent lights stay flat and ordinary. > The shelves stay packed behind them. > Their movements stay casual instead of looking choreographed. > Even the background feels more important because nobody is paying attention to the camera. That is why the clip feels different from a normal staged shoot. It looks like someone just happened to press record. And those are usually the clips people watch twice...show more

Jennifer Lawrence said mother! was the hardest film of... her career: “I was hyperventilating and dislocating a rib. I have oxygen tubes in my nostrils, and Darren’s like, ‘It was out of focus; we got to do it again.’ And I was just like, ‘Go f**k yourself.’'show more

I watched Robot on the Road and honestly I... did not really know what to expect going in At the beginning it just feels like a pretty normal little road trip setup with this robot hitchhiking around Japan and it almost gives off a chill slice of life vibe But it does not stay like that for long The more it goes on the more you realize the robot is doing some really questionable stuff and the way it focuses on women without their consent makes the whole thing feel really uncomfortable By the end I was not really sure if I was supposed to find it funny or just feel weird about it Overall it feels like one of those shorts that tries to mix dark humor with awkward situations but it mostly just ends up being unsettlingshow more

I think Campsite had some of the most elegant... UI on the web, especially for modal dialogs, but it was all React components rendering <div>s inside <div>s. So I stole their design and rebuilt it with semantic HTML and CSS. 😅show more

“Regardless of the outcome of games you have to... be honed in on the standard of doing it. You have to set a standard, create a standard and then live and die by that standard. Then just attack everyday, attack and just be consistent,” Jalen Hurtsshow more

After trying BytePlus Seedance 2.0 with native 4K output,... what stood out wasn’t just resolution—it was how stable and natural the image feels in motion. Fine textures, reflections, and subtle details don’t break apart between frames. They stay consistent, which gives the footage a more cinematic and grounded feel rather than a purely technical upgrade. Combined with native 10-bit color, the result offers smoother gradients, stronger grading flexibility, and a more refined post-production workflow. Overall, it feels less like a quality bump and more like a step toward genuinely production-ready AI filmmaking.show more

The new link experience on X is actually insane?... Super snappy, doesn’t take you out of it, and it feels like it’s super obvious in hindsight Last time I felt this way about a consumer product UX was snapchat’s swipe to switch views Incredible work by Nikita Bier and the @x teamshow more

By far the most unsafe driving by FSD HW#3... in my 8 year experience with it. Navigation gets confused and takes this left instead of the suicide lane next intersection. I was hoping it would slow down to a stop but it did not. The car to the right was thankfully paying attention and acted defensively to prevent an accident!
