After winning I went for a 90 minute thai... massage. Have found these crucial to sustainability in poker. Kept to myself in the interim between winning and the delayed stream finishing. Afterwards dropped by Weera Thai in Chinatown and had a wicked meal and watched The Orange Bowl while replying to as many messages as I could: crab rangoons tom yum soup with shrimp yellow curry with chicken durian sticky rice iced water Tomorrow will weightlift and then play PGT $1M freeroll that I qualified for by virtue of my results this week. Have been treating my brain well lately and have noticed the results in terms of my ability to execute in poker and life. I was in Madison Square Garden to witness the... Rangers win the Stanley Cup in 1996. I was at Shea Stadium in 1969 and in 1986 to see the Mets win the World Series. I have been blessed beyond words to see sports magic happen live. What I witnessed on Wednesday night from the back row of the Garden was miraculous….absolute magic that will live in my heart forever. To be able to share that with my two sons and daughter in law was beyond beautiful because I was able to watch them experience something I have known in my soul since my 11th birthday on October 16th 1969. The energy, the passion and commitment to family, loyalty, bravery and this great nation was felt in our hearts as we watched endless pride for this nation by young and old. And to describe that feeling ‘free’ in words is impossible. My heart and mind is full. I began my art journey in 2002 as a... mature student, applying to Leith School of Art for their portfolio preparation year and then to Edinburgh College of Art for the 5 year MA Fine Art program. I was 38 years old at my graduation. My classmates called me 'Grandpa Jones', seriously. 😂 I spent the next 7 years working 3 or 4 jobs/100+ hours a week (waitering, art tutoring, charity director, Airbnb host) so I could pay for my very expensive painting habit and paint enough for an annual solo exhibition (that I had to organise and pay for myself for most of them as no commercial galleries were interested in QR code/AR tech infused paintings)... and every year but one I lost money. I was my accountants biggest loser over and over and over. 😅 So, from 32 to nearly 50 years old with my art career being a horrendous detriment to my financial future I questioned my life decisions... daily. But I never gave up. In fact, it was the opposite. With every rejection letter, with every let down and disappointment, with every financial loss, with every exhibition that didn't sell enough to even cover the costs of paint, canvas and framing, I pushed even harder. I worked even harder. I looked for new ways to differentiate myself from all the other artists around me and I invested everything I had into me and my future. Fortune favours the brave. If you're willing to put in the time, the work and the risk you will be rewarded. It may take 5 years, 10 years, 20 years or more but eventually, if you keep working and taking the risks that the rest are not willing to take (creatively and financially) you will succeed. Don't blame others for your failure. Take the knock backs, take the disappointments, take the rejections, and use them to drive you. If you are willing and able to commit 100% for however long it takes, you will succeed. This is a fact and I'm proof of that. Stop listening to the FUD, stop listening to those who don't believe in you. Show them how wrong they are. Again, it may take years, even decades, but fortune favours the bold and this is undeniable. Will you give up or will you keep pushing, learning, growing, expanding your ideas and your creative output? Iran launches symbolic missile attack against Israel, which retaliates... strongly After Iran launched a symbolic attack against Israel in protest against the attacks on Beirut, hours later it was Israel's turn to retaliate, this time indeed with violence and hitting more than 10 targets in Iran, including Tehran airport and Tehran, Isfahan, Tabriz, Kermanshah, Karaj, and some other areas in western Iran. Israel used air-launched ballistic missiles from Iranian airspace and also dared to launch cruise missiles from ships stationed in the Mediterranean. The White House said the US had no part in the attack; however, strangely, American tanker planes were seen in the air. Refueling whom? It wasn't my motorcycle. There are two questions at this moment: One is that since the Iranian retaliation did not hit targets in Israel in a significant way, it is very likely that Iran still has a serious problem with the refurbishment and upgrade of its long-range missiles. And the other is that perhaps the US has not only reinstated THAAD radars and others but also added more batteries brought from Asia that were positioned in advance in the corridors. Be that as it may, the current situation forces Iran to retaliate and show that it possesses real means of inflicting damage on Israel. There will be no ceasefire in Lebanon in the way Iran desires, simply because Israel saw the quantity of missiles that Hezbollah accumulated in a short period of time and will not allow that again. Israel has its own agenda, its own interests, and they are completely antagonistic to the peace plan that has been discussed. Trump is trying to save his political skin, but Netanyahu will impose his agenda and Trump will be dragged along by it. But while Trump isn't dragged along, Iran seems to be wanting to settle scores with Israel, launching a new wave of missiles along with Yemen, which, by all accounts, has also decided to launch missiles against Israel. We said goodbye to my father today. George Mathew,... known by Sunny to friends & family, was truly a one of one. From being born to unimaginable hardships in India, to coming to America with only $20 in his pocket ($7 of which that he spent on beer in London), to becoming a successful business man and father, he was the embodiment of “beating the odds” and living the American dream. I owe my life to his sacrifice. This is my favorite photo of us two, taken recently on my engagement this year. Dad was battling late stage cancer at this point but didn’t hesitate to be there on my special day because he wanted to see me mark the beginning of my new life as a grown man. And, even in that amazing moment, I was so excited to just get a hug and approval from my dad. Cheers to the honor of being your son and knowing we’ll get to dance together again in the future. Writing this with eyes full of tears and a... chest full of sorrow and pain My PET scan results came in and the tumor on my lungs that was few millimeters in size two months ago, is now 7x7cm and was labeled as very active So yes i’m in a cancer relapse, and it’s more aggressive than ever 💔 The hardest part for me is not the operations or pain or chemo sessions on endless nausea. To me it’s unintentionally dragging my family and friends and people around me into it with me.. I’m set to have my operation (biopsy) later this week or next week, to know exactly the type and level of cancer i have. Will keep you updated as always I will try to be as active and supportive as possible. Anomaa Bronii, my daughter in law, called me in... the afternoon and said, ‘Mummy, I’m sorry I couldn’t be there today, but what did you cook?’ I said ‘Jollof, kebabs, spare ribs, spicy chicken, fried yam and plantain, goat meat stew, potato salad, lamb chops, Stephanie style, Gizzards and home made bread’. With a burst of excitement, Anomaa chirped, ‘Can you package some food for me?’. I smiled happily and said ‘Of Course, do you want everything?’ She joyously replied ‘Yes please. I’d love a lot more of the gizzard’. I looked in the almost empty gizzard dish and said ‘The girls ate most of that, but I’ll cook a fresh batch for you, don’t worry’. For a few days, JJ and Anomaa will have a feast and Cameron will also be set for the week with plenty of food in his fridge. Both left very happy. Unfortunately, the boys left me with 3 very unhappy, and angry daughters and a husband who were ready to be@t me, for giving all the food to my boys.🫣 Family Sundays is important to me, so when my African cooking brings my children back home, that makes me very happy. ermmm I got 2 more babies xD i had... to go back and get the other sisters they’re all from the same litter i felt so bad :c but once they’re all 3 bonded with my 4 older female rats im going to do a big cage upgrade and they’ll all be in the same one! but this is two of the new babies the other one is shy and sleepy 😴 ill try to take a pic of all 3 of them later! so the video is 2 of 3 of the new babies, and the 2nd pic is their cage until they bond with my adult rats and get a bit bigger, in which case by then i will be moving all of 7 (YES now SEVEN hahah) of my female ratties to the big big cage next to my older pack of 4 girls’s cage (u can see champagne -the albino- and oreo-the one below) saying hello in pic 4 :3 and what’s crazy is that the current rat cage for my 4 older girls is a pretty good size, so moving all of them to the larger cage is going to be crazy for them, im gonna make it like a rat theme park hahashow more
