Why does my cat stalk towards me as though... I am prey? I only caught the tail end of this occurrence in the video, but about once a week I notice my cat (5 months) stalking towards me like this (she typically starts from much farther away and goes even slower). The weirdest part to me is that she only really does it towards me, not my husband. I’ve also seen her stalk prey before and she doesn’t usually continuously move in slow motion like this, she typically walks forward, pauses and assesses for a while, and then goes for the kill. Usually when she does this to me, she ends up snapping out of it due to movement or sound elsewhere, so she’s never pounced or anything - at most she jumps up next to me and then goes back to normal. I’m a new cat owner so this may be typical behavior, but it is so bizarre to me that this behavior seems reserved for me alone - not my husband, not our dog who she loves wrestling with (thanks reddit for clearing that up), and not the bugs she preys on.
