[ Grab from 3d model ] So the problem is we're at that stage in time (typical for AI) where image-to-3d models are not good enough but are fun to play with, but we know they'll be good enough in 1-2 years With [ Make 3d model ] you already can turn any Photo AI pic into a 3d model but it still looks hyper clunky and deformed, but it works! One cool idea I had to make that more useful and made now: Let people make a 3d model then change the view of the it with the 3d viewer, then press [ o ] and it grabs a frame of the 3d That image you can then [ Remix ] (img2img), and it becomes a real photo again and that in turn you can then turn into a video again with [ Make video ] So that essentially gives you a fully freeform camera position control to take photos with One thing I need to fix is the background/skybox, I kinda need to take the original photo and remove the person and just get the background for the 3d model viewer, in this case it should be white, but it's a start!show more

Okay so someone suggested trying WAN 2.1, a video... model that supports LoRas So I trained a LoRa of myself and it works really really well, super high resemblance, obviously you can't use a Flux LoRa but similar effect, it just works great A few annoying things: - WAN 2.1 FPS is like 16 fps, so jittery, so you have to run it through an interpolator to add another frame to get close to 30fps - Limited to about 5 seconds clips (but that seems to be a bug, see "Bug Fix I2V Frame Count Hardcoded to 81 (!!) and Optional Batch Mode") Here it is with WAN LoRa + my ElevenLabs voice + 2x interpolation + boomerang loop to make it from 5 into a 10 second video Very big potential this is the working solution if I can make this pipeline work 🤯🤯🤯🤯🤯🤯show more

Kling 2.6 Motion Capture is so good. It's a... huge leap forward. We've been able to do motion capture with AI for a while, but the quality bump finally made this approach useful. Here are the steps: - Get a reference video - record it or get a stock video - Grab the start frame of that video - Edit it using Nano Banana Pro. Ask to replace character and background. - Select the Kling 2.6 Motion Capture model in the video generator on Freepik (now Magnific) - Upload reference video + set the edited start frame - Video prompt can be simple e.g. "Gandalf dancing"show more

Here is a 3D visualization of the coming solar... storm using model parameters from NASA's run, NOAA's run (shown below), and the coronagraph views from STEREO-A/COR2 and SOHO/LASCO. The storm is expected to hit Earth early December 9. The 3D visualization clearly shows the low inclination orientation of the solar slinky core inside the larger storm envelope. Of course, the earlier eruption that erupted to the northeast, might deflect this structure a little bit, but likely that will only make the structure move more towards the ecliptic plane, which will give us a larger chance of crossing through the solar slinky core. One nice thing about low inclination flux rope cores is that they almost ALWAYS have southward field in them at some point. So this is good news for aurora photographers-- as long as this solar storm stays true to its launch trajectory and inclination, we could see some organized southward pointed magnetic field. Considering this solar storm is fast-- that usually indicates the storm will not deviate much from its original launch trajectory! Android vs. iOS app quality difference [Part 8] This... one is about two highly-requested media apps: Spotify and Netflix. Netflix is miles better on iOS, but Spotify is about the same in my opinion because each version has one extra feature that's absent on the other. Netflix: - Netflix on iOS has a very modern design. Cool animations while logging in, and 3D parallax effect on the main title shown on the homepage. Nothing like this on the Android version. - You can use gestures to navigate the titles as shown in the video, and it's coupled with cool animations. Absent on the Android app. Spotify: - On the iOS app, you can use swipe up/down gestures to navigate between the mini-player and main music player UI. Can't do that on Android. - However, on the Android app, you can like a song directly from the notification panel - which is very useful. You can add a song you like to your Liked playlist directly without having to open the app. I believe this is on Apple alone, since they don't allow adding shortcuts like that to media player. Made a quick haptic feedback prototype for hand-tracking interactions... with a voxel. Felt fun and engaging. It's another level of immersiveness (unfortunately, the video is not able to convey this). Visual design alone can make an interactive experience great, but if you want to make it exceptional, DIFFERENT, this is where haptic design plays the key role. The device on my wrist is from the Hapticlabs.io Prototyping Kit (the thing on my index fingertip is called Linear Resonant Actuator). It's a beautiful, simple-to-use tool. Found a good case for it in my experiments :) To get hand-tracking data, I used the Leap Motion controller (Computer Vision Camera), which is excellent for quick prototypes like this. I saw people experimenting with gloves to build a solid haptic feedback system for XR. It's great for advanced immersive experiences (video games/simulators/interactive entertainment). But for many day-to-day use cases (productivity/OS/media entertainment), having just a "simple" thimble that provides the haptic feedback for the "touching" fingertip will already significantly improve the UX. Hope we will have something like this from our major XR vendors in the near future.show more
