However… Before you join the Army you have to take an ASVAB, the military’s intelligence test. It’s a test that someone with a 9th grade education can pass. It’s a test that determines what MOS (jobs) you are intelligent enough to qualify for. You can’t pick your job without a passing it, and if you don’t have a job, you don’t know where you are going for basic. Basically by telling everyone that Colin has a three week prep course AND doesn’t know where he is going to basic, he is saying that while Colin may have been smart enough to be accepted to Bridgewater State University, Colin is not smart enough to be a private in the Army.
