This video shows a static fire test of the... Archimedes rocket engine, developed by Rocket Lab. Archimedes uses liquid methane (LCH.) as fuel and liquid oxygen (LOX) as the oxidizer, a combination known as methalox. During combustion, these cryogenic propellants produce extremely high temperatures (over 3,000°C), hotter than lava. To survive this, the engine circulates cold fuel through its walls before burning it, a technique called regenerative cooling. Multiple Archimedes engines will power Rocket Lab's upcoming Neutron rocket, which is being built to launch satellites and cargo to orbit with lower cost and higher reliability. Rocket Lab is best known for its Electron rocket and is now expanding into larger, reusable launch vehicles with Neutron.show more

#Watch | Odisha forest officials are winning praise online... for a clever rescue mission involving an elephant stuck in a 30-foot well. By applying Archimedes' Principle, the Keonjhar team used water to float the elephant to safety, which accidentally tripped and fell into the well at night. Viral clips show rescuers using two pipes to fill the well with water while the elephant waits patiently. Once the water reached the brim, a JCB machine was used to gently nudge the animal back toward the forest. Read more:show more

Fighter jet pilot demonstrates centripetal force, a concept that... Isaac Newton discovered between 1676 and 1677. However, the concept of centripetal force was not actually discovered in a single event or by a single individual but rather evolved over time through the works of multiple scientists and thinkers. Here is a brief history of the development of our understanding of centripetal force: Ancient Greece: The ancient Greeks, particularly philosophers such as Aristotle and later Archimedes, made observations and formulated theories about the motion of objects. However, they did not have a clear understanding of centripetal force as a distinct concept. Islamic Scholars: During the Islamic Golden Age, scholars such as Ibn Sina (Avicenna) and Ibn Bajjah (Avempace) made significant contributions to the understanding of motion. They discussed the idea of impetus, a precursor to the concept of centripetal force. Johannes Kepler: In the 17th century, Johannes Kepler, a German astronomer and mathematician, formulated his laws of planetary motion. Kepler's laws described the motion of planets around the sun and the concept of elliptical orbits. Although Kepler did not explicitly mention centripetal force, his work laid the foundation for later developments. Isaac Newton: In the late 17th century, Sir Isaac Newton, an English physicist and mathematician, published his groundbreaking work, "Mathematical Principles of Natural Philosophy" (also known as the Principia). In this work, Newton presented his laws of motion and the universal law of gravitation. Newton's laws, particularly the second law of motion, provided a mathematical understanding of centripetal force. He demonstrated that an object moving in a curved path experiences an inward force acting towards the center of the curve, which is now known as centripetal force. Further Developments: Following Newton's work, subsequent scientists, such as Jean le Rond d'Alembert and Daniel Bernoulli, expanded on the understanding of centripetal force in the context of mechanics and fluid dynamics. It's important to note that the discovery and understanding of centripetal force were gradual processes that involved the contributions of numerous individuals over centuries. The concept became firmly established with the development of Newtonian physics and its laws of motion.show more

CLAVICULAR, SHIRTLESS ON A PARTY BOAT AT NIGHT. 14... SECONDS. THE MAKIMA COSPLAY GIRL COVERS HIS EYES, KISSES THE GIRL NEXT TO HIM, AND THEN COMES BACK FOR HIM. Pink deck lights, hotel towers across the water, somebody dancing on the back of the seats. First she slaps a hand over his eyes. Surprise incoming. Two seconds later she grabs his face with both hands and it's his turn. Before he can even sit up, the blonde goes in too. Rewatch it for the small stuff. > Her phone never leaves her hand. It's glowing the whole time, even while she's holding his face. > The girl in the black dress on the left just watches and smiles. She's seen this movie. > Nobody else on the boat turns around.
