📢 IntrinsiX: High-Quality PBR Generation using Image Priors 📢... From text input, we generate renderable PBR maps! Next to editable image generation, our predictions can be distilled into room-scale scenes using SDS for large-scale PBR texture generation. We first train separate LoRA modules for the intrinsic properties of albedo, rough/metal, normal. Then, we introduce cross-intrinsic attention using a rerendering loss with importance-weighted light sampling to enable coherent PBR generation. Our method outperforms text -> image -> PBR methods both in generalization and quality, since directly generating PBR maps does not suffer from the inherent ambiguity of intrinsic image decomposition. Currently testing Hunyuan brand new 2.5 model for image... to 3D. YUP! It's MAJOR improvement over 2.0, especially with making details look sharper, it can also reconstruct more detail. It also generates PBR materials now and you can automatically rig the character on the website. It's much better than Trellis and Tripo from my testing! Took it into Blender as well to compare Hunyuan 2.5 (on the left) and Hunyuan 2.0 (on the right). I wanted to see the mesh with a solid and material preview. If you're doing 3D printing, these would probably work very well. However...the biggest issue here is still topology which is a complete and utter mess, there's also still issues with texture projection...and the entire model is a single mesh, there needs to be a method to generate the model in parts BUT this tech is certainly improving. As someone that is also a 3D artist, I actually want to see what this tech is capable of generating to output 3D models.show more

📢 SHeaP: Self-Supervised Head Predictor Learned via 2D Gaussians... 📢 Given a single input image, we predict accurate 3D head geometry, pose, and expression. Previous works (e.g. DECA, EMOCA) use differentiable mesh rasterization to learn a self-supervised head geometry predictor via a photometric reconstruction loss. We borrow these ideas, but our key insight is to replace the mesh rendering with 2D Gaussian Splatting. An Object is Worth 64x64 Pixels: Generating 3D Object... via Image Diffusion discuss: We introduce a new approach for generating realistic 3D models with UV maps through a representation termed "Object Images." This approach encapsulates surface geometry, appearance, and patch structures within a 64x64 pixel image, effectively converting complex 3D shapes into a more manageable 2D format. By doing so, we address the challenges of both geometric and semantic irregularity inherent in polygonal meshes. This method allows us to use image generation models, such as Diffusion Transformers, directly for 3D shape generation. Evaluated on the ABO dataset, our generated shapes with patch structures achieve point cloud FID comparable to recent 3D generative models, while naturally supporting PBR material generation.show more

HOLY SHIT! Sparc 3D is INSANE! All they need... to do now is enable PBR texture support, object separation and decimation and this in my opinion completely replaces photogrammetry. The quality of the reconstruction of these 3D objects from a single image is mind blowing to me.
