Today is a wonderful day at LAW! 😍 Berani... has finally left the clinic and is joining her new family at our Celuk Buluh shelter 😁🥰 We'll keep her separate for a week or two to let her settle in and get used to her new surroundings, gradually introducing her to a couple of the other dogs. She's very friendly with humans, but very nervous around other dogs at the moment. The guy who alerted us to her has let us down very badly 😞 He said he would like to adopt her when she was better and would fundraise to help us pay for the veterinary care. Now he's changed his mind about adopting her and hasn't raised a penny 😢 We're determined Berani will have a good home with us and be well taken care of, regardless! ❤ We never put them back out on the streets to fend for themselves. In 2 weeks she'll be sterilised too. One of our goals is to try to get the numbers of unwanted puppies down, so every dog under our care goes through the procedure to battle those numbers. 🌈🌈 This morning has been a tough one as... it was time to say goodnight to Triana. She was diagnosed with a tumor on her spine leaving her in pain and unable to walk. Triana came to live with us because she had been diagnosed with cancer back in 2014 and was given a short time to live. However she just went from strength to strength and here we are 12yrs later. Triana was a star on the education classes with Sam. Together they would teach the kids full of enthusiasm and love and Trianas little tail never stopped wagging. She even visited people retirement homes with Sam and made the elderly feel loved. The truth is, Sam was always Triana’s soulmate, they were always so happy to be together. This made me so happy in return. Triana was good as gold with Sam. Always prim and proper. With me she would steal the sandwich straight out of my mouth 🫣😂 and if you left anything on the side… forget it. You won’t see it again. She was a smart and cheeky girl all in one go. She had lots of furry friends and in particular it was Wiggles and Abuela that stayed by her side as she went across the rainbow bridge. She was happy to go. Hopefully waiting for her will be all the retirement dogs she said goodbye to before her. She deserved not to suffer and whilst the tears are falling I know it was the greatest gift to set her free. Brazil's highest court could soon decide whether to imprison... a women's rights activist for up to 25 years for a single sentence spoken in an Instagram video and the sharing of four X posts written by others, even though neither her words nor those of others violated any existing Brazilian law. Under Article 213 of Brazil’s Penal Code, the base sentence for rape is 6 to 10 years for standard cases and 8 to 12 years if the rape involves violence or serious threat and causes serious bodily harm. As such, Cêpa could receive a prison term twice as long as what men receive for rape. The Supreme Court decided to reopen a case against Isabela Cêpa, which may determine whether the court can criminalize speech by judicial decree, bypassing the democratic process entirely. In fact, a federal judge had already dismissed the case, agreeing with prosecutors that Cêpa’s statements did not meet the legal threshold for hate speech and that no law had been violated. "The Supreme Court took the case and now they have only two options," Cêpa told me in our interview. "One of them is to admit that they're applying a law that does not exist and [that] they're punishing people for crimes that do not exist. And the other option would be to send me to jail. A lady on TikTok posted a video on her... page today, the first video. It shows her being awarded the Best Graduating Student at LOGIC Foundation Class by Pastor Flourish Peters. But the problem becomes apparent when you see the lifestyle of the girl. In the second video, she boasts about sexual activities. She talks about how she can engage in sexual acts for a sustained period of time. She boasts about engaging in oral sex licentiously. She boasts about how she relishes ingesting semen orally. She says she is “mischievous,” boastfully. But that is not all. She talks about other more depraved illicit acts she cherishingly engages in. When a Woman Took Off Her Shirt in the... Middle of a Bushfire 🐨🔥 Some images last only a few minutes, yet stay with us for a very long time. For me, it was the moment Toni Doherty rushed into a bushfire zone to save a badly injured koala. In 2019, during the devastating bushfires in New South Wales, Australia, Toni was driving near Long Flat, in the Port Macquarie area, when she spotted a koala struggling to crawl across the scorched ground. Its fur was badly singed, its body covered in ash, and its burns were so severe that it could barely move. Toni stopped her car immediately. She got out, took off the shirt she was wearing, and ran toward the koala. Amid the smoke and flames, she wrapped the animal in her shirt, carried it away from the danger, and used water to help soothe its burns. What moved me was not simply that Toni saved an animal, but the way she acted without almost any hesitation. She was not a professional rescuer. She had no special equipment with her. She did not even know whether she would be able to save the koala. But when she saw a living creature suffering right in front of her, she chose not to stand by and watch. Perhaps that is what makes this story so memorable. We often think of courage as something that requires extraordinary acts. But sometimes, courage simply means stopping when everyone else might keep going. It means kneeling beside a desperate creature and doing whatever you can, even when you have no idea how things will turn out. The image of Toni using her own shirt to wrap the koala has stayed with me. The shirt was just an ordinary piece of clothing, but in that moment, it became the first thing protecting a small life caught in the middle of a disaster. The story also reminds us that behind every bushfire are more than statistics about acres of land burned or homes destroyed. There are countless animals forced to flee, injured, or left without the habitats they depend on. The koala Toni saw that day was just one of many living creatures affected by the disaster. But at least in that moment, one person stopped. Toni could not save every animal in the forest. She could only save the one life she happened to encounter on the road. But perhaps compassion is not measured by how many lives we are able to save. It begins with whether we are willing to save one when the opportunity appears before us. President Gay has become a major liability for Harvard... University: **🎥Shocking Video of President Gay’s Testimony to Congress on Tuesday, December 5’th below.** 1) If her inflammatory and Antisemitic statements continue Harvard will likely be charged under the Civil Rights Act of 1964 Title VI clarified to explicitly include Antisemitism by the Biden Administration on September 26, 2023. 2) Harvard and other endowments may lose special tax exempt status. Treasury may argue that by taking a specific political position against Jewish Americans, a position that would not be taken against other ethnic groups, Harvard is politicizing itself and thus subject to ordinary tax treatment. This would be disastrous to Harvard University and Harvard Corporation and this could involuntarily drag along other endowments into a taxable status. 3) Donors, both Jewish and the 90% of alumni who do not share Antisemitic views will vote with their feet and as much as a predicted 60-90% of future donations may be lost from the alumni base. Non-Jewish alumni will be reluctant to step into the political crossfires by supporting an institution that explicitly condones and protects genocidal statements (shockingly in President Gay's own words). The vast majority (97% of donations) are made on a non-anonymous basis in order to build legacy at Harvard and with 1000's of causes competing with Harvard - donors will be reluctant to donate and be labeled bigoted and complicit in genocidal rhetoric through a historic lens. The Harvard Corporation has a Fiduciary duty to both the University and its alumni base to: 1) Remove President Gay effective immediately. 2) Take immediate action and expel students who are threatening and intimidating Jewish students with genocidial statements (no more teethless PR statements). 3) Outline specific policies that puts Harvard back into compliance to the Civil Rights Act of 1964 Title VI and takes away the risk of litigation, loss of federal funding, and loss of tax exempt status.
