Kitten update #25: We're starting to let the kittens... explore more of the house. The soda cases are blocking the door gap to keep them from escaping, but it's also provided a convenient barrier that Buffy respects so that the door can be open and the kitties can decide whether to engage with her or not. So far, they have enthusiastically chosen YES. Fortunately, Buffy has realized that the face end tastes better than the tail end because it might have some cat food on it. Besides the dog time, they also got to have new experiences with wood floors (soooo slippery!), stairs (fun to leap on), and the robot vacuum (not really that scary but not really making friends either). I suspect the afternoon nap will be extra intense today.show more

You’re on a journey on this kind of lonely... road with your car and your car suddenly develops a fault, You can’t call for help and your lines can’t be reached due to network issues, what do you do? Except the car will stop and the engine won’t come up again, please reduce your speed and accelerate softly till you get to a nearby town, if it is an overheating issue, keep driving, put the gear in the neutral position and switch off the engine and let the car keep moving, switch it back on when you have to ascend a hilly road and the car can’t move freely on its own again. If the battery signal comes up while driving, chances are that your alternator has failed, or the alternator belt is damaged, apply the same method and switch off your AC, radio system or anything that may drain the battery while driving till you get to a safe place. If it is a flat tyre, maintain a low speed till you get to a safe place to change and use your spare, keep moving. Yes!!! Damage that tyre till you get to a safe place, just keep moving and make sure you have a spare tyre always and it is in a good condition. If the engine suddenly goes off on top speed, chances are that a fuse is damaged and this is why I will make a thread on how to identify different fuses and how to have them fixed temporarily in case of Emergencies. If your car jerks or experiences a lazy movement while driving, it’s likely to be a fuel related issue, fuel pump most likely, switch off the engine intermittently and put the gear in Neutral position, keep moving… if the fuel pump rests for about 5mins, it’ll pick up back when you ignite the engine, this will/may at least take you to a safe place or where you can have access to network to make calls. If you hear strange sounds like knocking sounds or the oil signal starts to blink, relax and reduce your speed, keep moving. Manage it till you get to a safe place or can have access to network. If your gear/transmission system isn’t selecting well, apply the same method, reduce your speed but keep moving, slow movement is better than no movement, your life and safety matters a lot. Please note that there are some Mechanical issues that nothing can solve on the road except patience and just to pray to God for safety and help, for example, you run into a pothole unknowingly and the oil pan hits the road and your engine or gear oil leaks away, or your ball joint or tie rod head pulls out, I’ll suggest you leave the car there, roll up your windows and lock up the car and start trekking till you get network or help, staying with the car may make you vulnerable to attacks or attract unexpected company, just keep walking away from the car for safety. Most importantly, please stay safe and be conscious of your environment. Be friendly with your Mechanic too or any Mechanic you see on the road. It's 2030 and you are reviewing humanoid robots. A... Tesla. A Google. An Apple. An OpenAI. A Meta. A Figure. And a bunch of Chinese-made ones. Which one is best, and why? I think the Tesla understands the world much better. Why? There were eight Teslas around me on the freeway today. Start there. No other robot company has that data. But my robot is parked at the local high school twice a day. Its cameras see humans in all of our weirdness. How we move. Where we go. Where we walk. Who we talk with. What you are wearing. Whether your hair was combed this morning. That data will lead to robotics breakthroughs. Apple might keep up with its Vision Pro data, but it is too freaked out by the privacy implications of using said data. (On the front are six cameras and a couple of TOF -- Time Of Flight -- sensors that can see everything in your home in great detail). Google has a lot of data, for sure. All my: 1. Email. 2. Calendars. 3. Photos. 4. TV watching behavior. 5. Contacts. 6. Documents and spreadsheets. 7. Files. 8. Location data. So I expect Google's robot will be attractive to many. But how do you see the others shake out over the next five years? Make some guesses. But remember what an AI pioneer told me years ago about AI: it's all about the data. The Chinese ones have huge advantages: the Chinese have more data on their citizens, and many more citizens to boot AND they can make robots cheaper than we can. But now that you know OpenAI is building its own robot you have caught wind of what I've heard from many in San Francisco and Silicon Valley: that humanoid robots are the real prize of AI and will be highly profitable for those that can make them and find customers willing to buy them. And with that, the US Open dream is over... 😞 Just wrapped up U.S. Open local qualifying at Medford Village Country Club Didn’t quite have my best stuff off the tee today—and on a course this tight, that’s a problem. When I did find fairways, I couldn’t get it close enough to give myself real chances. Greens were absolutely rapid if you were out of position… borderline terrifying at times 😅 but I did hole some really good putts to grind out pars and keep the round alive. Only one birdie all day though, and that’s never going to get it done at this level. Finished +3 (75) — currently 37th out of 120 (top third of the field), so there are still some positives to take. Battled well, stayed patient, and didn’t let it completely get away from me—which is something I’m trying to get better at in these events. One qualifier down, one more to go in June for The Open Championship. Plenty of work to do before then—tighten up the driver, sharpen the wedges, and turn a few of those pars into birdies. I find it interesting that smart people like Joe... Rogan and Chris Williamson CONSTANTLY attack the redpill/manosphere, but NEVER actually have someone on from the genre to correct gross mischaracterizations. Instead they will bring on Dr. David Buss or Jordan Peterson. Both men are very intelligent. They can tell you the scientific THEORY of the female mating strategy, but can't actually explain how its personified by modern women TODAY via social media, dating apps, social circle, and other means. I can confidently say there is no one on social media that understands female nature, psychology, AND modern woman dating practices better than myself. I'm able to blend the psychology and match it up with the real time dating market, which is vastly different than when Rogan or Chris were single. Rollo Tomassi is also fantastic at explaining female psychology. The 2 of use have removed the feminine mystique women used to have a decided advantage in the mating game. If Joe Rogan or Chris Williamson are going to keep criticizing us, the least they can do is have a conversation and let the audience decide.show more

Blue-Green Algae at Red Bud Isle☠️🐶 Austin, TX -... Austin Watershed Protection staff have observed thick mats of blue-green algae, some of which may be toxic, notably near Red Bud Isle on Lady Bird Lake and at Walsh Boat Landing on Lake Austin. Samples were collected at all six monitoring sites on the lakes for testing. At this time of year, blue-green algae mats may be present in other parts of either lake and our creeks. Community members should be cautious and avoid contact with algae. They should keep dogs away from water with algae mats. The mats usually look like dark blobs floating on the surface and can be mixes of different kinds of algae. They may be mixed in with aquatic vegetation. As the weather continues to heat up, conditions for algae will become more favorable, and we expect to see more in our waterways. Assess Before You Enter Waterways If any of the following conditions are present, stay out of the water. They could indicate reduced water quality. •Algae along the shoreline •Stagnant, warm or murky water •Scum or surface film. In addition, do not enter the water if there has been rain in the past three days. After Entering the Water •Do not drink water directly from natural water bodies. •Avoid contact with algae. •Rinse skin, hair, and animal fur thoroughly after contact with water. •Do not allow pets to lick their fur before rinsing them off. If you or your pet experiences sudden, unexplained illness after swimming, contact your medical provider or veterinarian immediately. Residents are encouraged to report suspected human or animal illnesses related to algae using the City’s online reporting form. The mats of blue-green algae present at Red Bud Isle are similar in appearance to conditions in May and June in previous years. For the past five years, we have applied lanthanum-modified clay to manage sediment phosphorus in an effort to reduce the growth of algae as part of a $1.5 million pilot program. This year is a control year with no application so we can evaluate the effectiveness of the pilot program and whether it is beneficial to continue investing public funds at the previous level. No one player will keep her off the boards. No TWO players will keep her off the boards. Why did they have a loophole like this in... the first place? We should have had laws like this years ago to finally stop grave site robbers and vandalism. An Ohio bill seeks to create a felony offense for taking items or decorations from a gravesite This woman was so devastated by the cruelty of others I am hurt, angry, and heartbroken. Today, I went to my son’s gravesite at Green Hill Memorial Gardens Cemetery, and what I found brought me to tears. Everything I put out there is gone. Every flower, every decoration, every piece of love I placed to honor his memory... all of it is missing. To make things worse, the metal vase that’s built into the headstone has been broken off. How could this even happen? It’s all metal and connected to the stone. There is no way this could come apart on its own. On top of that, his gravestone is sinking into the ground on the front side. After all the money, time, and care I’ve invested to make sure his resting place was beautiful and respected, this is unacceptable. I have tried calling, leaving message after message, and I will keep calling until I reach someone who can explain what happened. Families should not have to endure this kind of heartbreak and disrespect. This isn’t just about missing items… It’s about respect. Respect for my son’s memory. Respect for grieving families. Respect for every person who has to visit a cemetery because their loved one was taken too soon. Something needs to be done. Our loved ones deserve better. And so do weshow more

It’s hard to believe we're on the final day... of our campaign to save the farm and keep our special Esther Magic in Campbellville with Operation Angels. In just two short months, we've raised over half a million dollars to help bring this dream to life. Although we haven't hit our goal yet, what we've achieved is incredible. With over 6,100 contributors from 39 countries totaling over $560,000, this is a global affair in typical Esther fashion. This project is designed to generate revenue to support sanctuaries and rescue organizations and serve as a model for revenue-generating programs at existing facilities. What sets us apart is our approach to drawing revenue from a new demographic to ease the pressure on current donors and an educational program to better equip animal organizations for the challenges they face. This project represents everything Esther stood for: kindness, compassion, inclusion, and support. I can't think of a better way to honor her and the community of like-minded people who make our little corner of the internet unique. The campaign will remain active until 4 am ET on August 1st, so we have less than 17 hours to give it our best and finish strong.
