When the body of SOG jawan Amjad Khan reached... home, the room fell silent — until his 1-year-old daughter cried out, “Papa, Papa.” In Jammu and Kashmir, a Special Operations Group (SOG) jawan, Amjad Pathan, was martyred in a fierce gunfight in Sohan village, Majalta tehsil, Udhampur district last evening. Security forces had launched a search operation after receiving intel about three terrorists, believed to be linked to the Pakistan-based Jaish-e-Mohammad outfit. Two other SOG personnel were injured in the exchange of fire. While the initial gunfight has been contained, the area remains under a tight security cordon with all escape routes sealed. The Nagrota-based White Knight Corps shared updates on social media, and IGP Jammu, Bhim Sen Tuti, highlighted that a very small SOG team bravely engaged the terrorists. Forest combing was challenging due to darkness and difficult terrain. One terrorist is believed to have been injured in the initial encounter. The operation was suspended overnight and resumed at first light, with reinforcements rushed in to strengthen the cordon and neutralize the holed-up terrorists.show more
