One house stood still and sturdy as flood waters swept away everything around it. A family in the balcony looking at possible death, survived. The miracle of the green house in Nepal where more than 2400 people are now missing, 320 Indians among them. Is this green house a miracle of old fashioned engineering or a blessing from god. Possibly a bit of both 💔💜🙏 #nepal #nepalfloods

“Almost 10,000 people could still be missing,” says Ganesh Shrestha, a survivor of the devastating Nepal floods. Ganesh says his estimate comes from what he witnessed on the ground. He recalls that a mela, or local fair, was taking place in the area when the floods struck, drawing a huge crowd of people. When the flash floods came, water, mud and debris swept through the area with terrifying force, leaving little time for people to escape. For Ganesh, the scale of the tragedy could therefore be far greater than the numbers currently accounted for. He believes many of those who had gathered at the mela may still be unaccounted for — leading him to fear that almost 10,000 people could be missing. His account comes as rescue and search operations continue across the flood-hit areas of Nepal. Rescue teams are battling heavy rain, unstable terrain, mudslides and destroyed roads and bridges, making access to some of the worst-hit areas extremely difficult. Watch the full interview -

He came home soaked in blood. The next day, his daughter says, he was being called a "criminal" online. The daughter of a Delhi Police SI says her father, a former Marine Commando, was nearly lynched while on duty during the Jantar Mantar clashes and remained unconscious for hours. She says seeing his blood-soaked uniform at home was devastating, only to then watch those accused of attacking him move court against police personnel. She has now approached the Supreme Court, saying police families, too, deserve to be heard and to receive justice. #cjp #delhipolice #supremecourt

“What is the point of education if you don’t even know your own history?” At the Jharkhand student protest, Babita, an Adivasi woman makes a powerful argument about what education really means — and who gets to define it. She speaks about growing up in a state where education has remained deeply unequal, where government schools struggle with basic resources and where, she says, thousands of schools have only one teacher. But for her, the problem goes beyond poor infrastructure and alleged corruption in examinations. She asks: why are children taught about India’s Independence, but not enough about Birsa Munda, the Santhal Hul or Jaipal Singh Munda? Why is Adivasi history and knowledge still pushed to the margins of the curriculum?

Shaik Abdul Hafeez, 25, had gone back to the government school in his village in Bankura to document its basic facilities as part of CJP’s “School Thik Karo” campaign. What happened after was utterly shocking and disturbing, as his father was beaten to death, and Abdul blames BJP for it. In the aftermath of his inspection of the school, a group of men entered his home, assaulted Hafeez and his father, Janab Mafik, and demanded that Hafeez record an apology for raising questions about the school. Hafeez suffered a neck injury. His father suffered severe head injuries and died on August 15. Police have arrested eight people in connection with the attack, including a BJP leader. Hafeez later spoke about what happened. CJP founder Abhijeet Dipke then had a phone call with him and broke down while speaking to him.

A sharp exchange has erupted between BJP MP Kangana Ranaut and Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) Chief Spokesperson Saurav Das over the nationwide student protests. Kangana criticised sections of the protesters for allegedly using abusive language against Prime Minister Narendra Modi and questioned their conduct, saying such behaviour was unacceptable. She also remarked that she had built her own career from the age of sixteen and questioned whether the protesters could afford legal representation if required. Responding to her comments, Saurav Das dismissed Kangana's criticism, saying that "even members of her own party don't take her seriously," and claimed that younger generations no longer pay attention to her statements.

This viral clip has now led to the suspension of Karnataka DGP K Ramachandra Rao. Unverified videos, allegedly showing the senior IPS officer in a compromising position, surfaced online and spread rapidly. The government has suspended him pending inquiry, citing conduct unbecoming of a senior officer. Rao has denied the allegations, calling the videos false and fabricated. He claims the footage is old, from his posting in Belagavi, and says this is a conspiracy to tarnish his image. UNSPEAKABLE- a 13 year old girl was raped over 5 days by 30 men. The girls video testimony ( we have protected her identity) from a hospital bed is utterly bone chilling. She was abducted, moved from one hotel to another and gang raped repeatedly. The case came to light when police raised a hotel in the city and rescued the girl. The girl was sold by the rickshaw puller she asked for a lift from, to a hotel owner. From hereon, in shocking and disturbing details the owner and manager of the hotel kept her in captivity and called several men to the hotel to rape her. Even as the police formed an SIT, arrested 14 people, demolished three of the hotels - Hotel Khungar, Joy Inn and Hotel Saffire, the girl in a video now everywhere on social media laments over the police inaction as well, and says "sab phasenge, ladki ko maarna chahte hai". A video documentation so tragic, so awful; a 13 year old - writhing in pain, asking for justice over a torture unbearable.
