On This Day: The fall of the Valkyrie June... 9 1966: The 2nd prototype of the North American XB-70 Valkyrie [62-02070] collides with an F-104 Starfighter over California (US). Of the three aboard both planes, only the XB-70´s pilot survives, with his co-pilot and the fighter pilot perishing. Incident occurred during a photoshoot while in close formation. Enquiry stated the F-104´s pilot was in a position where he was unable to safely distance from XB-70 (more details from the ASN Entry below) The XB-70 was a Mach 3 bomber developed in the 50s. Developments in missile technology made the concept obsolete, leading to its cancellation in 1961. At the time of the crash, the two prototypes that had been built were being used for research. Look at how American children live! I filmed this... on my way home from New York City after attending the World Falun Dafa Day parade a few days ago. I happened to get stuck behind a school bus, which kept stopping and delayed me quite a bit — but it also gave me a chance to closely observe the happy lives of these children. As you can see, the school bus drops each child off right at their home. Sometimes two houses are only five or ten meters apart, yet the bus still stops separately for each family. It doesn’t try to save time by dropping the children somewhere in between and making them walk home on their own. Around the 10-second mark in the video, you can see a small child get off the bus and cross the street to go home. That’s why in the United States, whenever a school bus stops, not only must all the cars behind it stop, but even the cars coming from the opposite direction must stop as well — all to ensure children can cross the road safely. I filmed both of these clips from inside my car. I was quite amazed that day, but I hadn’t had time to share them until now. Today I finally wanted to show everyone. The Government Railway Police (GRP) arrested 30-year-old Roshan Suvarna... on Wednesday, June 24, for allegedly stabbing a co-passenger to death inside a moving first-class compartment of a Mumbai local train. The fatal altercation, which took place late Monday night between Andheri and Borivali stations, began as a dispute over closing the coach door to block out heavy rain. The victim, 22-year-old finance marketing professional Mayank Lohar, was stabbed multiple times in the abdomen and chest before the attacker jumped from the slow-moving train at Borivali station and fled. Roshan Suvarna is a 30-year-old airport ground employee who works in the cargo section at the Mumbai International Airport. A resident of the Mira-Bhayandar suburb, Suvarna was a regular commuter on the Western Line network. According to railway police investigators, Suvarna did not have a known prior criminal record matching this profile, but he was carrying a large knife inside his personal bag on the night of the incident. Following the stabbing, CCTV footage captured him calmly walking away from the station platform, prompting authorities to deploy specialised tracking units to locate him.
