Day 23 - well that hurt a lot The... hike from BC to camp 1 - what a monumental day - one of the hardest sessions in my life We awoke at midnight, had ‘brekkie’ at 12.30am, and we were pretty much gone by 1.30am The icefall is like a big Jungle Jim set, with constant overhanging danger - for the most part it is quite good fun, but there are not many places that you can stop safely to rest. I was so busy that I did not get the camera out once, despite the fact that some of the photo opportunities were incredible When you get to the top of the icefall, there are a number of sheer walls that need to be jumar’ed up and this is where the first sense of false security set in - all of us thought that we were nearing the end of the day and that the tents of camp 1 were not too far off. Big bloody mistake - whilst the terrain looks gently undulating, it is cleaved by whopping big crevasses and gullies, which inevitably means you have to go down to come back up. Some of the ice walls we had to climb were at least 10m and there were multiples of them The video below show just how tired we were as we crawled into camp 1 (9:30mins later, 850m altitude gained). At three different times, when the flight was close to Delhi, three successive high power green colored lasers were beamed at the flight. I was able to capture only one. The flight path and log will be able to give you exact locations of the one I wasn’t able to capture. 1. Around 2120 - by the time I could get my phone and camera out, the plane had moved on and the beam stopped. Area unknown to me. 2. Around 2124 - I was able to record. The area was Churu- Tatanagar as informed by photo location feature. Recording attached. 3. Around 2128 - again, it flashed only for few seconds and by the time I started recording, it stopped. Area was Noida - Chapraula. I’ve highlighted the general area in the image attached. Threes successive beams, at regular intervals - you might want to check. There was a recent case in US just couple of weeks back where this laser pointing was taken very seriously by the agencies. And one odd guy fooling around is one thing. I spent 48 hours running AI from my phone.... Here are 11 things that turned out to be possible and 3 that almost cost me money Forgot my laptop at home and thought the day was lost. Opened a terminal from my phone and decided to see how long I could last Lasted 2 days. Not just lasted but made $840 What works from a phone: 1. Set up Claude Code through SSH in 10 minutes while riding the subway 2. Get Telegram pushes every time a wallet enters a position 3. Copy a trade with 1 tap without taking out my earbuds 4. Launch scripts by voice through Shortcuts 5. Monitor 3 wallets simultaneously without a single lag 6. Get a morning report at 7 AM as a regular message 7. Rebuild the bot when it crashed while sitting in a cab 8. Check PnL without opening a browser 9. Add a new wallet to tracking in 30 seconds 10. Set up auto-copying without confirmation on verified wallets 11. Get a full strategy breakdown of a wallet through Claude Code in a regular chat And here is what almost killed the deposit: 1. My finger slipped and I entered at twice the planned size. Did not notice for 20 minutes. Got lucky that the position ended up in profit but it could have gone very differently 2. My phone died at 2 AM. Missed the exit signal and the position dropped $110 while I slept. By morning I realized that a power bank is just as much a part of the strategy as the bot itself 3. The delay when copying was 40 seconds. On a 15-minute market that is an eternity. The price moved from 8 cents to 23, and instead of a 12x return I got a 4x. Still profit but you feel the difference immediately Total for 48 hours: +$840. Screen time on the phone: 47 minutes. Never needed the laptop The entire time I was following the same wallet. Finally broke out the lactate meter this morning. Starting... with this on the bike because I want to get comfortable taking my own samples before I start bringing it to the track and trying to do this during run workouts. Started with 25 min at 150W, then took a sample and started working my way up in 25W steps. 175, 200, 225, 250, 275W, holding each for ~5 min before taking another sample. I took a few extra readings along the way when something didn’t look right, which is how I ended up with: 150W: 0.6 / 1.4 / 0.8 (~101 HR) 175W: 0.5 (~110 HR) 200W: 0.6 (~117 HR) 225W: 2.2 / 2.2 / 1.7 (~126 HR) 250W: 1.1 (~136 HR) 275W: 1.6 (~143 HR) So yeah, the lactate numbers are a little all over the place. HR progression at least makes a lot more sense. Honestly most of today was just figuring out how to take the samples. Used my fingers and there was a lot more trial and error than I expected. How hard to prick, wiping a few times, then realizing sometimes I’d wiped enough that I could barely get any blood out, getting a big enough drop, figuring out how to actually touch it to the strip. I even realized at one point I was touching the wrong part of the strip. By 275W I was trying to do the whole thing while still pedaling and got a couple E-4 errors. Eventually stopped pedaling, got enough blood, got the 1.6 and called it. Definitely got better at it as I went though. I’m a lot more confident in the later samples than I am in some of the earlier ones just because I actually started to figure out what I was doing. By the end I felt a hell of a lot more comfortable than I did on that first sample. The plan is eventually to move to the ear and get comfortable enough with this that I can bring it to the track and take samples during workouts without the whole thing turning into a 10-minute ordeal.
