This is Shahed drone but not the same ‘world... famous’ Delta wing Shahed. This is Shahed-101, a loitering munition drone that attacked the fuel storage site in Erbil. Shahed-101 struck a Castrol linked warehouse at Sardar Group facility. How is ‘101’ different from ‘136’? Shahed-101, a 26 KG drone uses electric motor, so it does not make noise like ‘136’ or Arash drones. It can go upto 1500 km with 8 KG warhead. On the other hand, a 200 KG Shahed-136 uses a piston engine and it can go upto 2500 km with 50 KG warhead. So Shahed-101 is a new weapon in this war with low cost saturation tactics against million dollar interceptors. They can hit Israel.show more

🇷🇺 Russian occupiers report that Ukraine has sharply increased... the use of the medium-range loitering munition “Trust” (as they call it). 🔻 There is no official information or confirmation about this system from Ukrainian sources, and its real designation remains unknown. According to the occupiers, it is mainly used to destroy transport vehicles on logistical routes. 🔻 The Trust is an aircraft-type drone with a very simple design, optimized for mass production. It has a tubular fiberglass body, an internal combustion engine, and carries a 12 kg warhead, which can be either high-explosive fragmentation or thermobaric. This drone appears to be another cost-effective and efficient Ukrainian development focused on deep strikes against Russian logistics. Its simplicity and mass-production potential make it particularly dangerous for Russian supply lines in the rear. Video is generated by grok AIshow more

⛽️📉 Diesel production in Russia fell by approximately 10%... in May, following a similar 10% decline in April. According to Reuters, the drop is a direct result of Ukrainian drone strikes on Russian oil refineries, which have forced facilities to reduce or completely halt operations. This continued decline in diesel production highlights the growing and sustained impact of Ukraine’s long-range drone campaign on Russia’s energy sector. With two consecutive months of significant drops, Russia is facing increasing difficulties in maintaining fuel supplies for both military operations and the civilian economy. Russia installed anti-drone cages around the VNIIR-Progress plant in... Cheboksary. Ukraine sent a Flamingo. The cages didn't help. The FP-5 Flamingo is a Ukrainian-built cruise missile with a 3,000 km range and a 1,150 kg warhead - developed by Ukrainian firm Fire Point. Cost per unit: around $500,000, roughly one quarter of a US Tomahawk. VNIIR-Progress, now ablaze, produces the Kometa navigation modules used to guide Shaheds, Kalibr missiles, Iskander-M and precision glide bombs - the same weapons Russia uses to strike Ukrainian cities. The plant sits 1,000 km from Ukraine's border. The Flamingo reached it anyway.show more

Chinese aircrafts are competitive, but time will tell about... reliability. Since we've been discussing Chinese aviation lately, I want to show how Chinese aircraft are becoming increasingly competitive in a market traditionally dominated by the West and Russia. The J-35 and KF-21 are expected to enter the market only by the end of 2026 or early 2027. However, I have estimated their costs. I dare say that, with the current level of automation in the Chinese defense industry, the prices of these aircraft are likely to decrease even further. The Gripen and Su-35 are competitive, but what attracts most to the Su-35 is the R-37M missile, which has a range of up to 400 km and its radar irbis-E Reaching also 400km. It operationally both reaches 350 km would be already significant advantage without analogous. Western aviation remains expensive, and in my view, it will only become more competitive with the arrival of the AIM-260 missile, which has a range of over 300 km. Additionally, maintenance costs are very high, with the Gripen again standing out in that aspect as a cost-effective option for acquisition and maintenance. Another advantage are the interoperability on multiple terrains. Values are based on recent deals and local estimates. Costs can vary depending on the package. - J-10C: Cost: 40-50M. Radar: AESA KLJ-7A (~150-170 km). Missiles: PL-15 (~200-250 km). Maintenance cost per flight hour: ~$8,000-$9,000. - J-35 (FC-31): Cost: 70-85M. Radar: AESA (~200+ km). Missiles: PL-15 (~200-250 km); PL-21 (>300 km). Maintenance cost per flight hour: $10,000-$15,000. - Rafale: Cost: 80-120M. Radar: RBE2-AA AESA (~200 km). Missiles: Meteor (>150 km). Maintenance cost per flight hour: ~$16,000-$22,000. - Su-30: Cost: 50-86M. Radar: Bars PESA (~150-200 km). Missiles: R-37 (~300 km). Maintenance cost per flight hour: ~$10,000-$12,000. - Su-35: Cost: 80-90M. Radar: Irbis-E PESA (~350-400 km). Missiles: R-37M (~300-400 km). Maintenance cost per flight hour: ~$12,000-15,000. - F-16C/D (Block 70): Cost: 80-120M. Radar: APG-83 SABR AESA (~135-160 km). Missiles: AIM-120D (~160-180 km). Maintenance cost per flight hour: ~$25,000-$44,000. - Eurofighter Typhoon: Cost: 110-117M. Radar: Captor-E AESA (>200 km). Missiles: Meteor (>150 km). Maintenance cost per flight hour: ~$30,000-$45,000. - Gripen E: Cost: 85-120M. Radar: Raven ES-05 AESA (~200-250 km). Missiles: Meteor (>150 km). Maintenance cost per flight hour: ~$6,000-$7,000. - KF-21 Boramae: Cost: 70-110M. Radar: AESA (~150-200 km). Missiles: Meteor (>150 km). Maintenance cost per flight hour: ~$15,000-$20,000. - JF-17 Thunder (Block III): Cost: 40-60M. Radar: AESA KLJ-7A (~170 km). Missiles: PL-15 (~200-250 km). ‼️‼️🇺🇲 The United States has placed a large order... for additional Tomahawk Block V cruise missiles, marking the biggest simultaneous purchase of this long-range weapon in recent years and lowering the average cost per missile significantly due to volume pricing. Raytheon will produce 219 missiles under the new extension, bringing the total contract to 350 missiles valued at $785.2 million for U.S. forces and foreign partners. The bulk order also accelerates production rates, nearly doubling output compared to earlier plans. This move illustrates how increased procurement scale can reduce unit costs and boost manufacturing capacity for key long-range strike assets.show more

China has flight-tested a 60-kilowatt hybrid propulsion system designed... for small battlefield drones. The system lets drones generate electricity from fuel in flight, then switch to silent electric mode when the mission demands it. The result: longer range, lower noise, and a reduced heat signature. That dual-mode capability matters most precisely where stealth and endurance have to be traded against each other. It fits a larger pattern. China has simultaneously tested 3D-printed jet engines for low-cost disposable drones, deployed AI-driven swarm systems, and integrated long-range maritime strike missiles with drone-based targeting. Converted J-6 jets are now stationed near the Taiwan Strait. China is not building a drone force. It is building a fully integrated unmanned combat ecosystem, from cheap expendables by the thousands to stealth platforms capable of guiding anti-ship ballistic missiles deep into the western Pacific. The hybrid engine is not a curiosity. It is the logic behind everything else. Gandalv / Gandalvshow more

U.S. company Mara has presented its Spike counter-drone system,... designed to defend against FPV drones. The system consists of two main components: the Spotter detection module, which uses visual and acoustic sensors to identify incoming drones, and the Seeker interceptor UAV. The Seeker reportedly has a maximum speed of up to 200 km/h (124 mph) and an operational range of approximately 1.5 km (0.9 miles). Mara estimates the complete Spike system will cost between $30,000 and $100,000, depending on the number of Seeker interceptors included. A single system can reportedly accommodate up to 48 interceptors. The company says the interceptor itself is intended to cost approximately the same as its target, or up to twice as much. A stationary version of Spike is planned for late 2026, while vehicle-mounted and portable versions using manual launch are expected in 2027. The system reportedly underwent testing in Ukraine in July 2026. #USA #Mara #Spike #CounterUAS #CounterDrone #FPV #Drones #DroneWarfare #Interceptor #MilitaryTechnology #Defenseshow more

🇵🇱 Poland is weaponizing its domestic industry for a... massive conflict by striking a deal to build thousands of cheap, long-range American Barracuda cruise missiles every year. This massive production run creates a nightmare scenario for Moscow, giving Warsaw the independent firepower to strike targets deep inside Russian territory. ✅ The giant of the Polish defense industry, the company Polska Grupa Zbrojeniowa, plans to master the production of the Barracuda-500M cruise missile developed by the American company Anduril. 🔻 Signing the corresponding agreement with Anduril is a highly important event for the Polish military industry. Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk stated that this is "bad news for Mordor," implying Russia. It is planned to jointly produce several thousand Barracuda-500Ms annually. 🔻 The Barracuda-500M is a small-sized cruise missile designed for mass production and is distinguished by its low cost compared to counterparts. The warhead is 45 kg, but the flight range reaches 900 km when launched from an aircraft. The Barracuda-500M can also be launched from a ground launcher using a rocket booster, though in this case, the flight range drops to 700 km. The Poles plan to use Barracuda-500M cruise missiles from F-16 and F-35 fighter jets. This industrial leap completely alters Eastern Europe's military balance by removing the cost barrier of traditional cruise missiles. By turning F-16s and F-35s into ultra-long-range launchpads capable of reaching 900 km, Poland is surrounding "Mordor" with a cheap, un-interceptable swarm of precision weapons, making any potential Kremlin aggression a suicidal move.
