This man at Whole Foods is shopping with his... wife when she asks, “You want some fruit, honey?” He's holding a package of pre-cut fruit (kiwi, strawberries, melon) ahe shows his wife the price tag — $40.60. He jokes, “Let me go sell the car,” as he puts the fruit tray right back on the shelf while the wife agrees with “Yeah… that’s staying on the shelf.” It’s shocking how something as simple as pre-cut fruit has gotten so expensive. The best way to fight back is to grab whole fruits instead and cut them up yourself at home — you’ll save a ton of money and usually end up with fresher, better-tasting results anyway. Heavy isometrics are the lowest-hanging fruit when it comes... to strength training for runners. There is no muscle damage, so they don’t make you sore. There is no technique or skill required, especially when you use a machine. Here I’m using the hamstring curl machine. After squeezing a relatively heavy weight for about 30 seconds, the hamstring muscle relaxes and the strain shifts to the tendon. Stronger tendons equal more force production, fewer injuries, and better running performance. It’s super simple. Hold a heavy fixed position for 30-60 seconds, then repeat for multiple sets if it’s a problem area. You can do these every day, multiple times a day. Isometrics are a game changer.show more
