What an intimidating sight Fung-wong (UwanPH) has become over... the Philippine Sea as her winds creep up to 65 mph (100 kph). The sprawling size of this budding West Pacific beast is creating an interesting dichotomy. On the one hand, it’s causing Fung-wong to take longer to organize and thus delaying a potential round of rapid intensification (limiting how strong she can get before striking Luzon). But, on the other hand, her larger radius will affect more people in the Philippines and possibly generate a greater storm surge risk near the location of landfall. Even in this latter scenario, which seems to be increasingly more likely, Fung-wong could still explode to a high-end Category 4 Typhoon. ⚠️ I’m not liking the way this Winter Storm... is trending for our Texas brotheren.... One aspect that isn’t being talked about enough is the combination of significant Ice Accumulations followed by days of Brutal Cold. If Texas were to receive even a fraction of the ice currently being shown, widespread power outages would become a real concern. With frigid air rushing in behind the storm, temperatures could remain at or below freezing for days, making recovery much harder. This will not be as cold as the deadly Winter Storm of 2021, but the dangerous combination of ice and prolonged cold will still be there. 🌡️ Some areas could see temperatures 30 to 40 degrees below average after the storm, which would compound impacts if outages occur. Jennifer Cruz punched a Florida Highway Patrol trooper and... kicked an ICE officer after telling them she was “ready to fight” during an immigration traffic stop. She resisted arrest aggressively, continuing to strike and kick officers as they tried to take her into custody. As officers attempted to place her in a patrol vehicle, Cruz kicked at a CBP agent, an ICE officer, and a Trooper, successfully striking the CBP agent and the ICE officer (whose left hand was injured). Even after being secured in the vehicle, she kept kicking the windows, roof, and in-car camera. While being transported, Cruz told officers her actions weren’t worth escalating the situation “over a set of car keys.” Later, she admitted on a phone call that she “messed up really ugly” and that what she did was not okay. She even apologized to the Trooper she had punched, saying she knew the officer had a job to do. Jennifer Cruz was charged with 14 crimes, including battery on an officer and resisting an officer with violence. She was sent a Notice of Hearing on June 10, 2026.show more

Morning Update Focus: North Georgia down to the Metro.... Last night behaved about as expected. Lighter precipitation fell across a wide footprint that was affected by CAD. This wide footprint was well forecasted by the NWS as you see the footprint still slightly past I-75 and south of I-20 on the early run of the radar. We have maybe a lull in precipitation, though I doubt it will be a complete lull before the line of thunderstorms and yes, thunder-ice moves through the area stacking ice totals quickly. The warm nose will slowly begin to lift north and eastward, however as you see portrayed by the 10z HRRR, the areas that are CAD prone never rise above freezing (I’m gonna hold off on gloating about calling that one cause it hasn’t happened yet), while the heart of the line pushes through. This is going to be interesting I’m about to get outside and check. I’m expecting to see around .25-.40 already in Lumpkin County. But let me get the morning going (coffee!)show more

In the video, ICE agents appear to be running alongside the vehicle, pulling on the doors as the driver tries to leave. The person is not “weaponizing” their vehicle, or trying to run agents over. They appear to be trying to drive away from masked, armed men attempting to force their way into the car. This is exactly what we’ve seen in video after video across the country… ICE agents surrounding vehicles, pulling people over before identifying them, trying to force their way inside, and demanding proof of citizenship. Which is a violation of the Fourth Amendment. The Constitution exists to prevent exactly this kind of government intrusion. And when the government lets agents ignore those limits without accountability, they’re not just violating people’s rights… they’re creating the exact conditions that turn routine encounters into deadly ones.
