National Sangoma, Sebokoana Khounyana (50), appeared at the Vanderbijlpark Magistrates’ Court on charges of premeditated murder and Human trafficking of a 02-year-old baby Kutlwano Shalaba. A charge of premeditated murder was added against the mother Keneilwe Portia Shalaba (32), who was previously facing charges of human trafficking, conspiracy to commit robbery and making a false statement to the police. It is alleged that on 10 November 2024, the mother of the child took the child to the sangoma and requested him to kill her child because she was not happy with the gender of the baby and was tired of hiding it from her family that in fact, the child was a girl. The mother then allegedly fed the baby poison and after the baby died it is alleged that the two took the child and buried her body in a shallow grave in Waterpan After investigations by the police, the sangoma was arrested on 29 May 2025 and he subsequently made a confession and pointed out to the police about where the body of the child was buried. In court, the matter was postponed to 05 June 2025, for legal representation for the sangoma. The state intends to oppose his release on bail. Tragic video footage from 2022 captures the last moments... of 22-year-old Burcu Saglam inside the cockpit of a small plane just before the wing fatally collided with an overhead power line. Shortly before the crash, Saglam posted footage and pictures of herself from the cockpit. One image was even accompanied with the caption, “Byee.” The plane was piloted by Hakan Köksal, a 54-year-old who was the president of an aviation association in Turkey. Data released by the US National Transportation Safety Board... (NTSB) in response to a freedom of information request, shows that the fuel switches to both engines were shut off simultaneously before China Eastern Airlines flight MU5735 dropped out of the sky and crashed in March 2022. It was China’s deadliest air disaster in decades, but the Civil Aviation Administration of China (CAAC) has not addressed the crucial question of what had prompted the deadly nosedive. The data was taken from the plane’s flight data recorder that record all relevant operational information — which was recovered from the wreckage and sent to the NTSB’s laboratory in Washington DC for analysis (with the agency’s involvement stemming from Boeing being a US aircraft manufacturer). “It was found that while cruising at 29,000 ft, the fuel switches on both engines moved from the run position to the cutoff position. Engine speeds decreased after the fuel switch movement,” the NTSB report said. China has not published an update into its investigation since 2024, when the CAAC released a statement on the two-year anniversary of the crash reiterating earlier findings that it found no problems with the aircraft, crew or weather conditions.show more

KNUST STUDENT: Details exclusive to ASK suggest that Joana and her boyfriend, Daniel, had been dating since their first year (level 100) and that he had a history of physically abusing her. Their friends were aware of the abuse, but Joana consistently denied it. Both sets of parents were allegedly aware of the relationship. Two weeks prior, Joana's father allegedly visited the school, saw Joana and Daniel together, and warned Daniel to stay away from his daughter. On Monday, Daniel allegedly stole Joana's phone for ulterior motives, prompting her to report the incident to the KNUST Police Station. The following day, Joana and Daniel went to their department to study, but the tension between them was palpable. As they left the department, two friends escorted them to the Disability and Rehab Centre of the university. After the friends left, Daniel allegedly attacked Joana, pushing her from behind, hitting her on the ground, stamping on her, and using his knee to choke her until she became unresponsive. He then dragged her into nearby bushes, took her phone and laptop to make it appear like a robbery, and fled the scene. When friends and coursemates called Daniel's phone the next morning to inquire about Joana's whereabouts, his phone was off. When reached later, Daniel claimed he was unaware of Joana's location and suggested asking the friends who had escorted them. Joana's body was later discovered near the Disability and Rehabilitation Centre, where Daniel allegedly dragged her. CCTV footage allegedly captured the events surrounding the murder, leading to Daniel's arrest. According to reports, Daniel has confessed to the murder of Joana, asserting that her death was an unintentional consequence of a domestic dispute. Subsequent to his confession, Daniel was arraigned before the Circuit Court in Asafo today. A 50-year-old biker was killed on the spot after... being run over by a tipper truck at Bumbu Bazaar in Davanagere. The horrific accident was captured on a local CCTV camera. The deceased has been identified as Manjunath, a resident of Saraswati Nagar. According to police, the accident occurred when Manjunath was attempting to overtake a tractor travelling ahead of him. At that moment, a tipper truck coming from behind allegedly hit and ran over him, resulting in his death on the spot. Following the accident, police took the tipper driver into custody. The CCTV footage of the incident is being examined as part of the investigation. The case falls under the jurisdiction of Davanagere South Traffic Police Station. The 35-year-old man, who was arrested for raping a... seven-year-old girl and inserting iron in her private parts, was booked for attempted murder after he attacked cops with a sickle and tried to escape on Wednesday night. The police fired in self-defense and two bullets hit the accused #Ramsingh's leg in the village of #Jasdan taluka where they had taken him for recovery of the rod. After recovering the rod from his field, the cops reached Ramsingh's house where he suddenly picked up a sickle and launched the attack which left Dharmesh Bavaliya, head constable with the Local Crime Branch (LCB) of Rajkot Rural police, injured. HC Gohil and KM Chavda, both police sub-inspectors, fired from their service revolvers to prevent him from fleeing. Bavaliya suffered injuries in the chest and arm. The police control room was informed and both were first taken to KD. Parvadia Hospital in #Atkot for treatment and later shifted to the civil hospital in #Rajkot city late at night. Rajkot Rural superintendent of police (SP) Vijaysinh Gurjar had told reporters that the accused committed the sexual assault in about 10 minutes. He was familiar with the girl and her family, knowing that they were originally from #Dahod and had come here to work as farm labourers, Gurjar said. Police said the girl cried out during the assault, which agitated the accused, who then inserted the rod in her. Ramsingh is on police remand until December 15 in this rape case. Acting on a tip-off about the sale of ganj in the Pulianthope, a team from the Basin Bridge Police Station, led by Sub-Inspector Krishnakumar and other personnel, conducted a raid on a house in Gandhi Nagar Fifth Street on Sunday night. The house belonged to Nandakumar, 26, who is listed as a history-sheeter by the police. During the search, officers seized 29 packets of ganja weighing a total of 10 grams and six syringes from the premises. Police said women present in the house initially objected to the search and attempted to prevent officers from carrying out the raid. After Nandakumar was arrested and police attempted to take him into custody, his mother and other female relatives assaulted the officers. According to police, the officers used force to protect themselves and bring the situation under control. A video showing the confrontation between police personnel and the family members subsequently went viral on social media platforms. Nandakumar was taken to the Basin Bridge Police Station, where a case was registered against him under relevant provisions relating to possession of narcotic substances. He was inquired further. In a related development, Nandakumar’s mother, Meena, went to the police station and demanded her son’s release. Police said she injured her wrist with a razor blade during the protest and argued with officers inside the station premises. She was later sent away after intervention by police personnel. A 40-year-old guest lecturer was allegedly murdered by her... male friend, who later set her body on fire inside a car before dying by suicide, near Jinkebachchahalli village in Doddaballapur taluk on Saturday. The deceased has been identified as Saroja (40), a guest lecturer at a private college in Devanahalli. The accused, Ramanjinappa (45), a relator, is suspected to have died by suicide by jumping in front of a train. Ramajinappa was married Senior officer told reporters that Saroja and Ramanjinappa had been in a relationship for the past year. Police said Ramanjinappa had been pressuring her to marry him, but she refused. Saroja having a decent job, living with her with her family and the husband. Investigators believe that enraged by the rejection, Ramanjinappa planned the murder. On the day of the incident, he allegedly took Saroja on a long drive in a car borrowed from a friend. During the journey, an argument broke out, following which he is said to have attacked her with a hammer, killing her on the spot. Police said the accused then set the vehicle on fire in an attempt to destroy evidence and fled the scene. Passers-by noticed the burning car and alerted authorities. Personnel from Karnataka Fire and Emergency Services assisted the Doddaballapura Rural Police Station in dousing the fire. A charred body was later recovered from the backseat of the vehicle. The car was completely gutted and the police found the body in the backseat in a sleeping position and the jawline facing upwards, indicating that she was murdered before setting the car on fire the officer said. Using the chassis number, police traced the vehicle owner, identified as Suresh Kumar, who informed them that he had received an alert about an accident involving the car. His attempts to contact Ramanjinappa were unsuccessful. Later in the evening, railway police alerted local authorities about the recovery of a mangled body near the tracks near Bidadi. The decreased was identified as Ramanjinappa through his Aadhaar card and ATM card. Piecing together the sequence of events, police concluded that the accused murdered Saroja and later died by suicide while attempting to escape. A case of murder and suicide has been registered, and further investigation is underway.show more

Mariam Faez Sultan, Age 16 Abducted on January 9, 2026, in the Mezzeh area of Damascus (she lives in the Mezzeh 86 neighborhood, which has an Alawite majority, within the broader Mezzeh district). After contact with her family, her father confirmed she had been abducted. Strangely, he offered thanks and praise to the “General Security” after learning that the caller belonged to a team working with the UN Office of Investigations. Nevertheless, as of the writing of this report, March 8, 2026, the girl remains abducted. 2.Lana Al-Suleiman, Age 18 Abducted on March 1, 2026, in the Burj Al-Ghanum area in the city of Masyaf, Hama countryside. She was released two days later on March 3, 2026, and was compelled to appear in an interview stating she had not been abducted and had simply been at a friend’s house. It should be noted that our team and most documentation pages recently chose not to publish abduction cases, and that the girl appeared in posts on Facebook from her local area indicating she had been missing, yet none of the posts mentioned abduction. We were unable to contact her family. 3. Layal Ibrahim Abdullah, Age 25, Married Abducted on February 22, 2026, while traveling by public transport from the town of Slunfeh toward the city of Latakia to visit a doctor for a previously scheduled appointment. All hospitals were checked; she was not found. Layal was released on February 27, 2026. A documentation team contacted her family, who confirmed she had been held for four days, but refused to provide details, saying: “What matters is that she came back.” 4. Alma Elia Saleh, Age 14 Abducted at Karsana Square in the city of Latakia on March 4, 2026. After contact with her family, her mother was in a state of breakdown and confirmed that her daughter was missing, adding that they had filed a report with security forces. The girl was released one day later on March 5, 2026. Unofficial sources reported that the Coastal Police Station arrested the abductor and secured the girl’s release. 🔹Our sources confirmed that following a visit by the UN Investigation Team to Damascus, during which files on kidnapped Alawite women since 2025 were presented, the HTS-led General Security is now pressuring abductors to release the girls within days. This marks a shift from the previous pattern of denying abductions and shielding perpetrators. In several instances, units of the General Security or HTS factions were themselves involved in the abductions, as in the case of Abeer Suleiman from 2025 (cited as one example among others), who has not been released to this day. At the time of her abduction, General Security personnel in the city of #Safita contacted the abductors in Idlib to warn them that her family had filed a complaint — less than half an hour after her father and brother had done so. Over the past year and continuing to the present, dozens of Alawite women abducted since 2025 remain unreleased. The total number of abduction cases from 2025 exceeds 80 documented cases. Yesterday morning, after a football session, the NBM cultists returned with more members. As the Navy personnel was leaving, they att@cked and injvred him before fleeing the scene. One of the NBM cultists identified as the chief mastermind of the att@ck is named Jerry.
