🚨Flashback: Oklahoma Candidate for Governor Gentner Drummond implies that... Catholic and Evangelical Professors can’t teach students of a different denomination: “Do we really want public school teachers teaching your Baptist child if they are Catholic? Or if they are Episcopalian or if they are Evangelicals?” What Drummond is implying here is if you are from one particular Christian denomination then you can’t teach children of a different Christian denomination on ordinary subjects such as Math, English, History, Literature, Science, Economics, Geography, Art, Music or Foreign Language due to having denominational differences. His quote suggests he believes Christian denominational differences disqualifies Professors from teaching children of a different Christian denomination.show more

We don’t need to label this kid as being... a Palestinian or an Israeli. It shouldn’t matter what nationality, religion, ethnicity or name this child has. It shouldn’t matter if it’s a boy or a girl, a child of a peasant or a child of a king. All that matters is that this is a child, and all children should be treated as the innocent beings that they are. If you are putting more weight on the life of a child of one ethnicity, one religion, or one ancestral line other than those of your own family or friends, then your moral compass is out of wack. All children’s lives matter!show more

Hills I will die on as an elementary school... teacher, who just wrapped up my 32nd year teaching! 1. If you are not PASSIONATE about blessing, serving, and empowering those you are blessed to teach, this profession is not for you. 2. Our students are not “ours”. They are their families, and we need to understand the magnitude of the calling, and responsibility we have to meet them where they are, and to help them to get to a place that they never thought possible. 3. As important as the curriculum is (and it IS important), the children in our classroom are what matter most. It’s our JOB to teach the curriculum to SERVE our students, NOT to use our students to push any sort of agenda. 4. Just as we teach our students to “leave things better than they found them”, we need to leave our students better than they were when they first entered into our classroom. Never let a day pass without pouring into each and every child. 5. We should not teach our children WHAT to think, but HOW to think, and how to use that knowledge to bless and serve not only themselves, but the world around them. 6. Our words carry little (or NO value), if we do not practice what we preach. 7. If we don’t make learning fun, children will view learning as a chore, and we we will be creating a generation of children who grow up to be young adults who don’t see the joy in learning new things. 8. The child that may be “difficult to reach/teach” (the one who may get on your last nerve more than you could ever imagine), is someone’s EVERYTHING. Get to know them as human beings, find out what motivates them, and do everything you can to help them to thrive. 9. Never tell a child they “can’t” do something. God has blessed each of them with far more strengths and talents than we may know, and it’s not our job to tell them what they can’t do, but to help them to realize all the things they CAN do. 10. The legacy you leave as a teacher will never be determined by your student’s test scores, but by the human beings you helped them become throughout their lives.show more

Think about what you’ve done. You have mass-produced your... children and determined which ones to have a relationship with. Then you gave away half of the leftovers. Those are your children. Just as much as the three you chose to raise. When you "donate" your kids, they don’t go to households that have been screened, vetted, and subjected to background checks. They could easily be acquired by a predator, by a seventy-year-old single man, or by a foreign national. Nobody will conduct post-placement reports or follow up to see whether they’re being loved. Some of your children will be raised in motherless or fatherless homes and hunger for that male- or female-specific love. If they are like other donor-conceived children, they will struggle with identity issues. And if they are not irreparably damaged by abuse, trafficking, or developmental struggles, they will very likely seek you out when they’re 18 and ask, “Why did you give me away?” That is not weird. That is wicked.show more

In Japan, a Pakistani Muslim father says that they... do not allow their children to participate at all in Japanese festivals such as Christmas and Setsubun at school. They take leave on those days because these are haram. Japan gave them refuge in the country, provided a safe environment, and gave their children excellent education. And what are they giving in return? An ideology that says, “We are different and superior to them,” directly sowing the seeds of extremism and separation in the coming generation. If they do not like Japanese festivals and culture, then why are they living in Japan?show more

Make sure to vet your instructors and report anyone... like this so they can never pick up a firearm again. I know we joke around here but this kind of negligence is exactly how people die. How to vet a firearms instructor: •Certifications are a baseline. NRA, USCCA, or state credentials are common, but they don’t guarantee skill or good teaching. •Ask who trained them. Good instructors are lifelong students. If they haven’t taken a class recently, that’s a red flag. •Experience ≠ expertise. Military or law enforcement backgrounds are cool, but don’t assume they’re good at teaching civilians. •They should ask about you. Your goals, your experience, your comfort level. If it’s all about them, move on. •Safety should be front and center. They need a plan, a trauma kit, and should talk safety early and often. •Check their online presence. Do they have student reviews? Do they list prices and course content clearly? •They should be respectful. If you’re in the LGBTQ+ community, a person of color, or new to guns, you should feel welcomed—not judged or tested. •Beware ego trips. If it’s just war stories, tough guy energy, or gear obsession, they’re not focused on teaching you. •Trust your gut. If anything feels off, walk away. There are plenty of good instructors who actually care. A good instructor doesn’t just make you a better shooter. They make you safer, more confident, and more prepared. Demand that.show more

What happens when a child learns that bad behavior... rarely has any real consequences? 👀👀👀 All parents want well behaved children, but how many actually want to be strict and discipline them when they start crossing the lines? It can be easier to give in, ignore the behavior, or hope the child eventually grows out of it. The problem is that children are constantly learning where the boundaries are. If they discover that screaming, throwing a fit, talking back, refusing to listen, or deliberately breaking rules gets them what they want, there is very little reason for them to stop. Young children need boundaries because they are still learning self control. They need to know that when a parent says no, it actually means no. They need consistent consequences when they knowingly cross a line. That does not mean being harsh or losing your temper. Good discipline can be calm, reasonable, and firm. The goal is not to make a child afraid of their parents. It is to teach them that their choices have consequences and that other people deserve respect. There is also a difference between discipline and simply punishing a child. Discipline is about teaching. Sometimes that means taking away a privilege. Sometimes it means making a child correct what they did. Sometimes it means simply refusing to reward bad behavior with attention or a change of rules. Children who grow up with clear expectations often have a better understanding of how to behave when their parents are not around. Children who learn that every boundary can be negotiated may keep pushing until they find the limit. Parents don't have to be perfect, but they have to be willing to lead. If children are never taught where the boundaries are, how can we expect them to know when they've crossed them?show more
