I’ve met people in Dubai who left London, New... York, Singapore, Moscow. None of them left because Dubai was perfect. They left because everywhere else stopped making sense. The guy from London got tired of paying 45% tax on every win and watching the city get slower every year. The one from New York couldn’t justify the cost of living for what he was actually getting in return. The one from Singapore felt the walls closing in - great infrastructure, zero soul. None of them came here chasing some dream. They came here running from a reality that stopped adding up. And then something unexpected happened. They built more here in 2 years than they did in the previous 10. Not because Dubai gave them anything special. Because it stopped taking things away. No one is telling you Dubai is paradise. The heat is real. The humidity is real. The distance from home is real. But for a specific type of person - the one who’s done apologizing for wanting more - this city makes more sense than anywhere else on earth. BEST COUNTRY IN THE WORLD 🇦🇪show more

People mocking Dubai for being bombed and at the... same time claiming to be safe miss the plot entirely. We literally sustained hundreds of missiles with 0 casualties (in Dubai) in less than 24h. How many people got stabbed and raped in your countries in that timeframe? Absolutely insane to me that people think this is the time to talk shit about the UAE. I just took this video from our 1st floor and still feel safer here than in Europe. Since I came here I realized that Dubai was built by sheer willpower, this doesn’t change it at all.show more

1 month since leaving the UK for New York... 🎉 Observations: - People here are generally more positive - Cost of living is comparable to London for the most part. I feel like it gets expensive here very quickly, however. - Public transport is ok, but the amount of crazies you encounter is a massive detractor. This week I’ve seen a woman piss [ass naked] on a platform, and a lot of drug addicts do more questionable things. I’ve seen some shit in the UK, but it’s just worse here. The gov neglects the people at the lowest part of society. - A lot of places smell here. - Food is generally good if you pay extra for non-processed stuff. That said, I had a sub from the deli, and it got the better of me 🙂↔️😂. - I love how easy it is to transport into another world. Each borough has so much to offer. - People care for self-improvement more than anywhere I’ve lived [capitalism >>>] Bottom line, I’m enjoying it here. I’m excited to meet more new people and start building businesses. Currently working on a new project I’ll talk about tomorrow. ✌️show more

Managed to get out of Dubai. The following is... my personal opinion & experience 🇦🇪 Everything went quite seamless. Careem cabs operate normally. The airport is extremely well organized, considering the circumstances. The world has changed since Saturday and unfortunately, the country I moved to 3 years ago has been under heavy attacks. Why? No one really knows. However, I find it extremely disturbing that most media - including our beloved CT - exploits that serious situation to take cheap shots at Dubai and people who moved here. There are real families and hard working people affected. Most are scared or feel extremely uncomfortable. It's a traumatizing experience to hear missile interceptions right above your house. Nothing I wish for any human to ever experience, no matter if you pay 0% or 50% taxes. I don't even know what the link between those two things should be?? If anything, it proves that the UAE cares about their people and is able to protect its residents. Even at 0% income tax. Dubai was not known for it's strong military. It was always portrayed to be bling-bling golden steaks and influencers. But the UAE has shown the entire world that it can defend 1,000+ drones and 200+ missiles from a direct neighbor. That is impressive, whether you love or hate the UAE. Many countries would likely not be able to absorb that. So, if anything: Dubai and the UAE have demonstrated that the system works. I have lived in multiple countries around the world and the UAE is by far the most capable of handling crisis. Why did I leave Dubai then? Because it's not a situation I want to be in. Missile interceptions and drone explosions are no joke. Besides the danger that debris could hit your roof, there's an incredible intensity in the air. Most describe it as "intense calmness". While the Government managed to keep everyone from panicking, it's impossible for everyone to stay fully calm. And you can feel that in the day to day. The first night I got virtually no sleep. The night of my departure neither. I haven't left my house at all after the attacks started. But I'm out now. I really hope that leaving the country wasn't necessary, and that I will be able to come back to Dubai as soon as possible. And no, I'm not paid to say this, nor did I sign anything. Maybe part of the truth why no one who lives in Dubai has bad things to say about it is because it's one of the rare places on earth where people actually trust the Government and respect them? Not only for creating wealth and understanding business, but for caring and communicating in a way most other countries are simply incapable of. Anyways, I guess the point of this post is to 1) Tell everyone in Dubai that it's possible to leave right now. I know many people are very scared and want to get out. Be persistent with the airline if they cancel your flight and push hard to get rebooked on the next available one. And maybe choose a destination that isn't Europe, considering most of these flights are overbooked already and impossible to get on. 2) Dubai's self defense is impressive and we should acknowledge that. At least this one time, let's not derail into irrelevant discussions but show respect to the leaders + express empathy for those affected. 3) As an expat living in Dubai, I can still feel proud of my home country and do not have to choose. This isn't a black and white situation. Dubai is a melting pot of cultures and great place for Business. Other countries have better nature, social life or other things. It's also up to individual preference. 4) If you hate Dubai, yalla you don't need to live here, visit nor speak about it. Enjoy the place you live in and focus on your own. No need to feel triggered and take cheap shots at hard working people and families that are currently under heavy missile attacks. One final thing that really became clear to me this week is that after all, safety, health and living in freedom are absolutely priceless. May this all be over with soon and for sustaining peace to come in 🤲🏼show more

I'm a 35-year-old American I've lived in Argentina for... 5 months so far in 2025 Here are the some things I like more about Argentina than the USA: -It's SIGNIFICANTLY easier to make friends in Argentina. Seriously, I lived in Colorado for the last 10 years, and I was beginning to think I was some fucking weirdo bc of how small my social circle was. The social life here is just so organic. If you're not a weirdo, you just attract friends...especially as an ex-pat. Everyone is always about milling around the city, playing sports, drinking mate, going to cafes/boliches/concerts/events. I don't know why, but in 5 months here, my social circle is already bigger and stronger than the one I had in 10 years in Denver, Colorado. -Politics isn't life here. There's some type of weird brain virus that's destroying the minds of the American people. Politics has seeped into every aspect of the culture fabric and it's become this weird, unavoidable daily reality. In Argentina, the people are well-informed about politics and global affairs, but it doesn't dominate the conversation. Very refreshing for me. -People are generally healthier and more beautiful. In general, the Argentines are some healthy, skinny, beautiful mf's. The men, the women, everyone. No radical Ozempic intervention is required here. -People have less money, but more time and more soul. Average wages here are absolute shite, and so is the Argentine Peso...but people seem to have more time, more energy and less stress, generally. People in the USA have a lot of money, but not a lot of soul. Here it;s the opposite. I've confronted some of the dark aspects of the economic realities here, but generally people are extremely present, laid back and "amable". I'd describe the people here as passionate "life-enjoyers." They are passionate about everything they do. They do it with gusto, soul, and UMPH. Mate - We love that shit Soccer - Hell yeah Hanging out at the park with some dogs - WE Live for this shit Living here has made me appreciate my life so much more. It's a very life-affirming place that gets you in touch with what actually matters.show more

This is Dubai burning on camera tonight. Not a... war zone. Not a conflict state. Dubai. The city that every sovereign wealth fund, every tech billionaire, every luxury brand on earth chose as the safest address in the Middle East. Fires rising between residential towers. Smoke columns visible from the Marina. Exclusive footage from the ground showing what Iranian ordnance looks like when it meets the most expensive real estate on the planet. These images are not from a military briefing. They are from people's phones. Shot from apartments. Shot from hotel balconies. Shot by residents who moved their families and their capital to Dubai specifically because this was never supposed to happen here. Every frame is already being forwarded to every group chat, every boardroom, every family WhatsApp thread of every expat who chose the UAE over Singapore, over London, over Zurich. The calculation that built modern Dubai is being repriced in real time by people watching their skyline burn through their bedroom windows. Dubai spent three decades engineering the most successful city brand in human history. Zero income tax. World-class infrastructure. The implicit promise that geography could be overcome by architecture. That you could build a global financial center 150 kilometers across the Gulf from Iran and it would never matter because stability was the product Dubai sold. Tonight that product is on fire. There are 3.5 million expatriates in Dubai. They represent 85 percent of the population. They have no citizenship. No permanent right to stay. They are there because the math worked: safety plus returns plus lifestyle. When the math changes, they leave. They do not protest. They do not negotiate. They book flights. Except tonight there are no flights. Both airports are closed. The expatriates who power Dubai's entire economy are watching fires from their windows in a city they cannot leave. Iran did not need to hit a single building to achieve this. The interceptions may have been perfect. The air defenses may have worked exactly as designed. It does not matter. What matters is that tonight, on every screen on earth, Dubai looks like a war zone. And Dubai's entire value proposition was that it would never look like this. Three decades of brand building. Thirty seconds of missile flight. The skyline is still standing. The illusion is not.show more

NYPD Commissioner Edward Caban Jessica S. Tisch : “For 60 years, people from around the world have come to New York to celebrate our city’s proud Jewish heritage. Experiment ⬇️ „Dubai is empty“ When I post a... picture or video, I have already left, for my security When I post, I make sure I choose a moment and angle, with no faces visible or edit them out of the content, for their security For the same security reasons, the UAE doesn’t want us to film and post sensitive footage People like to make up stories and look for faults, here is an experiment: A teacher writes down: 1+1=2 2+2=4 3+3=6 4+4=8 5+5=9 Every student raises their hand and points out the last mistake, instead of pointing out that 4/5 calculations are correct At the end, we are all human and must protect each other, instead of making each other vulnerableshow more

🚨 RUBIO WARNS EUROPE: “NO COUNTRY IS SAFE” NEW:... Senator Marco Rubio has just issued a stark warning — one Britain and Europe can no longer afford to ignore. “No country is safe if you can just walk in without us knowing who you are.” Rubio didn’t stop there: “We’ve seen the destruction that’s wreaking — not just in our own country, but across Europe and much of the world.” This is the message London needs to hear: Mass migration is destabilising nations Borders mean nothing without identity Terror, trafficking and crime thrive in chaos While Starmer dismantles what little border security the UK has left, the rest of the world is sounding the alarm. Rubio sees it. Europe sees it. The British public sees it. The only people who don’t? The ones in charge. How long before Britain learns the lesson the hard way?show more

We’ve all seen this goal… but I never realized... Mbappé never looks at the goal. This World Cup has revolved around one player more than anyone else - Kylian Mbappé. He has stepped up in the biggest moments, leading France with crucial goals while becoming one of the tournament’s most talked-about stars. His performances, celebrations, and presence on the pitch have fueled discussion after every match. To some, he is the face of football’s next generation. To others, he has become the tournament’s biggest villain. Either way, one thing is certain: whenever Mbappé takes the field, the world is watching.show more

Some people criticise me for calling it the Woke... Right but I genuinely don't understand how they don't see it. The woke left claimed that America, one of the most racially tolerant countries in the world, was the most racist country ever. The woke right claims America, one of the best governed countries in the world, treats its citizens worse than any other. It is true that there are racists in America and it is true that America has problems when it comes to living up to its ideals on things like free speech. But this is just victimhood for clicks and it's frankly pathetic, unpatriotic and silly.show more

What to do when your city is getting bombed?... I remember when the war started in Ukraine in 2022, I was in Kiev living in the middle of the city. When the bombs started to drop everyone freaked out and rushed to leave the city. Total panic. Me? I just stood in my baller pad with a snow baddie. The chances of dying while leaving the country are higher than your pad getting nuked. The scariest part is not the sirens and the bombs but all your friends and family messaging you, giving you unsolicited advice from their little comfort. Never blocked so many losers in 2 weeks. Everything is just noise. You risk nothing. Just stay there it’s part of the process. This too shall pass.show more

Our World Cup 2026 content programme is here. From... now until July 23, the content we release on our podcast, articles and Patreon exclusive feed will be centred on the World Cup. As well as covering the history and heritage of the tournament, we've also explored themes of resistance, resilience and identity during this content programme. This is one of the most politically charged World Cup tournaments in history. Tragically, not everyone will be able to attend to support their nation. Some people may end up detained or worse. However, there is still a lot of joy to be found through this tournament, and diaspora communities will have a huge role to play in bringing that joy to the World Cup. We hope you enjoy the content we've created for this tournament. We kick things off today with our usual Monday podcast. Thank you to all the fantastic contributors who have taken part in this. Iran did not strike a military base in Dubai.... It struck the idea of Dubai. Missile debris hit the Fairmont on Palm Jumeirah. Drone fragments set fire to the facade of the Burj Al Arab. A terminal at Dubai International Airport, the busiest hub for international passengers on earth, sustained damage. Jebel Ali Port, which hosts US warships and handles aircraft carriers, caught fire from interceptor debris. Abu Dhabi’s Zayed International Airport took a direct hit. One dead. Seven wounded. The UAE Defense Ministry confirmed intercepting more than one hundred ballistic missiles and two hundred drones. That means Iran fired over three hundred munitions at a country that has spent the last four decades marketing itself as the safest square mile in the Middle East. Dubai is not a military target. Dubai is a financial thesis. It is the proposition that you can build a global city at the mouth of the Persian Gulf and insulate it from the region’s violence through money, architecture, and diplomatic neutrality. Two million expatriates live there. Sixty percent of the emirate’s revenue flows through its airport and seaport. Every sovereign wealth fund in the Gulf has exposure. Every global bank has a regional desk there. Every luxury brand on earth has a storefront on Sheikh Zayed Road. Iran just put a missile through that thesis. Not metaphorically. The Burj Al Arab, the building that appears on every postcard, every airline advertisement, every sovereign wealth fund pitch deck, had fire crews on its roof Saturday night. Dubai’s airspace went dark. Flight tracking maps showed the entire Gulf region virtually empty. Airlines suspended operations. Schools prepared to move online. Residents sheltered in underground parking garages because Dubai has no bomb shelters. The financial implications compound from here. Dubai real estate, the asset class that underwrites half the Gulf’s wealth effect, just discovered it sits within range of Iranian ballistic missiles. Every property valuation on Palm Jumeirah, in Dubai Marina, in Downtown, now carries a war risk premium that did not exist forty eight hours ago. Insurance underwriters who just repriced Hormuz transit are about to reprice Gulf property portfolios. Saudi Arabia was hit. Qatar was hit. Kuwait was hit. Bahrain’s Fifth Fleet base took drone strikes that destroyed a three hundred million dollar radar system. Iran targeted every Gulf state that hosts American forces. The only Gulf country spared was Oman, the mediator. The message is not military. It is economic. Iran cannot defeat the Fifth Fleet. But it can make the Gulf uninhabitable for capital. And capital has no loyalty. Only a return address.show more

I can’t say it enough - US rural/farm land... is the most undervalued asset in the world and it's not close. Mountainous areas are top of list. I look to buy well located rural/farm land in the path of growth. Close to an interstate. Within 45 min of a major hospital. Sometimes sandwiched between two major cities. It is absolutely mind blowing to me that someone can buy hundreds or even thousands of acres in the most powerful country on earth for <$1 sq ft Land is scarce all over the world and this will continue to be the case for yrs to come I truly believe there's absolutely no substitute to owning large amounts of land in the USshow more

⚔️ Kingdom Come Deliverance first impressions ⚔️ Loving it... so far, basically a medieval detective simulator that really doesn't care that you are the main character. And I'm all here for it. ▪️The WORLD is the real star of the show here and even though it's got plenty of jank and lots of copy and paste NPC faces, it just feels so IMMERSIVE. Even the UI just transports me to the times with a bright colourful medieval art style. ▪️The MUSIC I love, absolutely sells the world and basically ASMR as you trot around on your horse through the world. ▪️THE Combat is a real interesting one, it's got quite the learning curve which I actually LIKE, it definitely has some jank to it as well but I really appreciate the attempt at an original and nuanced combat system. (Having to stop your bleeding with bandages is really cool) ▪️The Story has gripped me (19 hours in so far) And while it seems a simple revenge story on the face of it, I think the story is more about Henry making his way through the world after the horrors of Skallitz. The writing quality is top notch as well as the quest design also. ▪️The CHARACTERS are amazing and the humour is top notch. I'm not sure the last time I laughed so much at a game. Henry is great and so well voiced by Tom McKay This really feels like Warhorse Studios have put a lot of love and work into making an authentic medieval world and as a bit of a medieval nerd I can't get enough of this game. A True RPG as well by all accounts, the game really makes me think hard about how to approach situations. Also I can't wait to get to KCD2.show more
