Saturday 30th May NAP OF THE DAY 🏇💥 Catterick... 15:35 - Zephyln 11/2 Zephyln won this race last year off of 63 and is 5lb better off this year just 58, he did the double in 25 at the course and distance in May and looks the value tomorrow. He ran a great race over jumps last time out in a competitive race outrunning his 33/1 odds at Perth and i think he is in just as good form as last year. His efforts on the flat since have been on the all weather and his mark is competitive again. I would prefer a stronger jockey than Greg Fairley who doesnt have a great overall record but fingers crossed he can get the horse home for the team and the odds still represent value with him in the plate. Jared Guell collected two saves across 3 innings over the weekend. UCLA C Cashel Duggar has one of the highest... floors in the draft and has the upside to be a really solid MLB backstop. He is one of it not the best defensive catchers in the draft doing everything really well. He averaged a 1.86 pop time in game and held runners to a 62% SB clip against him which falls to 58% at 2B. He also moves very well behind the plate as a blocker and receiver. While the defense is the big highlight, Duggar has shown a very mature approach at the plate with a 17% K% compared to 14% BB% in 2026. He kept the Whiff and Chase rates under 20% as well. He finished the year slashing just .250/.378/.380. However the mature approach on top of the great frame at 6'2 200 pounds and being left handed hitter makes a lot of scouts love the upside. His defense is already near MLB ready and if he can become just a below average MLB hitter he will be a long term backup backstop. If the bat progresses even a little bit he has the upside to be a top 10-15 catcher in baseball.show more

Played around with the Meta Glasses for an hour.... Some observations. - First impressions. Pretty awesome piece of tech. Doesn’t look any different from any other wayfarer. Fits well. Light on the head. No headache. - Great little toy. Clicks decent pics. Can’t record for long. But good enough. Plays great music. Speakers are great. Don’t need earplugs. Can just say “Hey meta play this song” - “Hey Meta, what I am seeing” Best use case is wearing AI on your head. I looked at a book, asked it what I am seeing, it described the book, even gave a review and a short biography of the author. It translates text as well. Handsfree. - Do you really need it? Just a two-star recruit out of Miami, FL, Fernando... Mendoza was initially slated to go Yale before switching late to Cal. And after an 8-game starting season in 2023, he emerged as a bonafide NFL QB prospect during the 2024 season. And he enters the Big Ten (now at Indiana Football) and the 2025 #NFLDraft process as a QB Draft fans need to get to know: I’d bet on his continued ascent up boards over the next 10 months. Mendoza’s film last year has a LOT to be excited about, from his pocket navigation, deep ball placement, and high release point allowing him to pinpoint at all three levels with control. But what really jumps out in studying Mendoza: his toughness. He faced ample pressure last year and was as good as any quarterback with pressure in his face and finishing through contact as a passer. On plays where he had less than 2.5 seconds to throw, Mendoza was top-5 in the FBS last year in Completion % (min 250 attempts), behind players like Cam Ward and Shedeur Sanders. As you can see in the plays below, Mendoza has the size/arm talent to complete passes with rushers muddying the pocket and/or hitting him, and the rare placement and control to complete those passes at a high level He’s one of just seven FBS returning starters who faced pressure on 170+ snaps. We launched a product with a well-known creator last week. That has gone really well and will unfortunately be out of stock on a bunch of shades soon. We did an in-person event with her at, 8 months pregnant today at one of our stores. It was our first time ever hanging blister packs to sample. We had a bunch of blister packs and a bunch of agile trucks, plus some other out-of-home. It's all a big content play, but also building community and introing people to the brand and getting samples in as many people's hands as possible. We just bought a rivian and wrapped it for sampling events. Hoping to give away 7 figures in samples this year and next. We started with 1 but I’m gonna pull the trigger on a few more once we see signs of traction. We’re opening 12 stores this year and doubling down on IRL, community, and sampling. 27 year old James Piot won the US Amateur... in 2021 before joining LIV Golf in 2022. He then signed for Phil Mickelson’s HyFlyers in 2023, but was released at the end of that season. He’s played a mix of Asian Tour events and PGA Tour Americas over the last two years and this week he’s tied for the lead after three rounds of the Moutai Singapore Open, alongside Jeunghan Wang and Soomin Lee. Tomorrow, he’ll not only be looking for his best ever finish on the Asian Tour, but a win would put him into contention to potentially get one of the two spots available via The International Series for the 2026 LIV Golf League. INF Gavin Kilen (Tennessee Baseball) will be a key... piece within a loaded Tennessee lineup this season. Earned the starting 2B job as a Freshman and contributed, but broke out last spring to the tune of a .330/.361/.591 slash line with 23 2B, 3 3B, 9 HR and 41 RBIs. Kilen is slightly undersized and has an average build at 5'11 and 180-lbs. Some room to fill out and add ~10 pounds or so. Relaxed, slightly crouched stance in the box with a medium high handset. Minimal load in which his hands drift slightly, leg lift leads into a small stride. Short, compact swing and takes a direct path to contact. Above-average hand speed, it's an operation that's tailored towards spraying line drives all over the yard. Kilen is a hit-over-power profile with an aggressive approach in the box. He has plus bat-to-ball skills and his feel for the barrel is evident. Last spring, Kilen worked a 93% IZ contact rate, including 95% against FB. His aggressive approach and somewhat free-swinger mentality does lead to some chase up against FB and secondaries down, but it hasn't been a hindrance to his production. Kilen pounces on pitches in the zone and steps in the box ready to hit. Would give his hit tool a 55. It's more gap power than it is over the fence power for Kilen, but he did tap into some more impact last season. Part of that is due to getting the ball up in the air more: between '23 and '24 he increased his FB+LD% from 44% to 51%. It will always play as slightly below average (fringy), but he did post a Max EV of 108.5 during the spring and 101.4 this summer. Kilen's HR impact and highest quality of contact comes to the pull side. Vast majority of his XBH power comes on pitches in the bottom-half of the zone, which makes sense given his bat path. Has shown the ability to work from gap-to-gap. Kilen was Louisville's every day SS last spring, but he'll slide over to 2B this season for Tennessee. I actually think that's where he profiles best defensively as a professional, where he has an average arm with some range. After seeing him at SS for a couple of summers, his actions and clock translate better at 2B. Kilen is a day 1 type this July with top-55 overall upside.show more

Catching up on Fever-Fire, and I mostly want to... commend the Fire for how decisive they've been. They were successful against IND's switches, but they also forced a good bit of them with great positioning (didn't let IND duck "under" screens) and timely slips. Fascinating to me that IND attempted to sprinkle in some switch-and-double reps in the first half. They did not go well, but it's one of those things where if they start nailing it later in the year, we can look back at this game to appreciate how far they've come.show more

Shortstop Kyle DeBarge (Louisiana Ragin’ Cajuns® Baseball) is one... of my favorite non-P5 Draft prospects. After a strong Freshman season, DeBarge enjoyed a sensational Sophomore campaign in which he hit .371/.448/.546 with 15 2B, 7 HR, and 18 SB. Was an All-Sun Belt selection last year. Plays bigger than his 5'9", 175-pound frame suggests. Twitchy, athletic operation in the box. Front side starts slightly open, minimal load and stride with not a lot of unnecessary movement. Above average bat speed, extends really well through the baseball. Does a nice job of creating leverage to the pull side. Plus-plus bat-to-ball skills with an 88% overall contact rate (93% against FB), and an absurd 95% IZ contact rate. Advanced feel for the barrel. Pure hit tool is a 60. Strong defender up the middle with smooth actions. His natural athleticism really shines. Quick feet, good internal clock. Arm is a borderline 55, could end up at 2B long term where he profiles as an above average defender. 70-grade runner who this summer turned in < 4.00 home-to-first times. Absolutely flies when in gear! Product of National power Barbe High School. DeBarge is a winner and a leader in the dugout. Potential top-two round pick this July.show more

Bit of end of cycle / start of year... testing AKA gym yap Front Squat 140kg: Very happy with this given I've only been back squatting for 9 weeks, and that's the longest cycle I've been able to string together in like 5+ years. I can technically call this a PB since it was beltless, sleeveless and less fat bodyweight so over the moon here. Backsquats of any nature keep tweaking my lower back so gonna stick with fronts for the rest of the year. Bench 140kg: Ive done this a lot in the last 10 years, but I was always 105kg bodyweight or more. So to do it at 97kg is a big win. Pressing power has been feeling horrible for the last year or so and I couldn't figure out a good programme, so happy that it's finally clicked again. Deadlift 200kg: Tweaked my lower back 3 times last year and put a lot of effort into fixing it up and strengthening it. 200 was easy so I did attempt 220kg but as soon as it left the ground either I would have failed or had a 10 second grind on my hands so decided to just not risk it. Goal for last year was to get healthy enough to be able to train the deadlift again and I achieved that so despite being far from my best of 262.5kg I've very pleased Ive been able to get to a position where I can train it again without headaches or lower back tweaks. OHP 80kg: Haven't trained OHP in a year or more, and stopped doing behind the neck press 3 months ago when I started benching more, so just wanted to do this for fun. Bit off my best of 95kg but its funny how much strength you retain without even doing a vertical press. Cutting down to 90kg again over the next 2-3 months then will see where I can take these over the rest of the year. No real numbers in mind, just happy to be able to train hard.show more

Aidan O'Connell gets sacked on his final play last... night and in my opinion the sack is on the #Raiders QB just as much as it is on LT Andrus Peat. AOC has a 3 step drop which means the play is designed for him to get the ball out quick. If you don't get the ball out then a QB is going to need to Create something. But what you don't want him to do is back pedal into a sack. Peat does lose the rep, but he does a good job recovering and pushing the DE up the field. I think AOC's ability to feel pressure, get away from it, and throw on the run were some things I saw from him last year where he struggled with. So I do hope next week he shows a little bit more in that. Overall the play didn't work because Luke Getsy designed a really poor play where the spacing is off, I will talk about this more on my Youtube channel later today but you can clearly see that Bowers was supposed to be a natural pick for Tre Tucker at the bottom of the screen. But the spacing didn't work and the WR and TE run into each other.show more

RHP/1B Trace Phillips (Middle Tennessee Baseball) is an interesting... draft-eligible sophomore on which to keep close tabs. Last spring, he hit .304/.360/.547 with 8 2B, 13 HR and 47 RBIs, but it’s his ability on the mound that's the root of his buzz. Phillips' back of the baseball card numbers last season are modest, but there is more to it than meets the eye. At 6'3" and 185-lbs, Phillips has an athletic, high-waisted frame. In the box, he has a simple setup with an ear-high handset and the bat horizontal above his back shoulder. Phillips has a slight load in which he has a noticeable barrel tip and a small stride. He moves well in the box and has some scissor action with his back leg. Phillips’ pure hit tool is fringey, but he has plus raw power and has shown the ability to drive the baseball to all fields. Max EV last spring of 109.4, if he's able to lift the ball more it will lead to a more impressive power output. Phillips’ current prospect status is largely driven by his ability on the mound. His numbers were unimpressive last season, but he took a step forward this fall. There’s some low hanging fruit to clean up in his delivery, but he has a short, whippy arm stroke and attacks from a low-three quarters slot with plenty of arm speed. Phillips’ FB has been up to 96 with ride through the zone (particular life at the top), though his best pitch is a high-70s-to-low-80s CH. He does a nice job of killing spin on it, and It averaged almost 15 MPH off his fastball this fall. It’s a plus pitch that flashes both fade to the arm side as well late tumble. Phillips completes his arsenal with a mid-80s slider that flashed above-average this fall with sharp, two-plane tilt. Both his changeup and slider profile as legitimate swing-and-miss offerings. Another positive development with Phillips this fall is that his strike-throwing took a step in the right direction. Mid-4th-6th round type this July. (📽️: Middle Tennessee Baseball)show more
