Today, we are working in Denmark at the European... Political Community Summit. I began our work by meeting with Prime Minister of Denmark Mette Frederiksen Statsministeriet. The recent incursions into the airspace of Denmark, Poland, Romania, Norway, and Estonia were a key focus. Russia is escalating, and we discussed how we can respond to these threats. We have repeatedly proposed creating a joint, integrated air defense system. The expertise of Ukrainian professionals and Ukrainian technologies must become an important part of the EU’s Drone Wall initiative. Right now, a strong group of Ukrainian servicemembers is in Denmark, helping Danish colleagues. We also discussed the implementation of the PURL initiative and Denmark’s further participation in this program. We value Denmark’s contribution of €90 million. I am grateful to Denmark for a military aid package of more than €360 million to support Ukrainian production under the Danish model. We value Germany's leadership in strengthening our air defense... through bilateral support and substantial contributions to the PURL initiative. Thanks to this, we are able to procure anti-ballistic missiles that are in short supply. This is especially important now, as Russia is counting on brutal ballistic strikes to enable it to continue the war. We are also preparing a Drone Deal with Germany and working to establish a joint European anti-ballistic system. I am grateful to Germany, and personally to Bundeskanzler Friedrich Merz Friedrich Merz, for the support and for the steps being taken toward European anti-ballistic defense. The visit to Denmark begins with an important step... for our defense. An agreement has been reached on Ukrainian-American cooperation in drone production, including interceptor drones — a crystal clear priority. We have signed an agreement with the robust American company Swift Beat, and it foresees hundreds of thousands of drones this year alone, with the potential to significantly scale up production in the coming year. Interceptors to destroy enemy drones and missiles, quadcopters for reconnaissance and fire adjustment, and long-range strike drones — all of these will be produced in much greater numbers to help us achieve our defense goals and protect the lives of Ukrainians. I had a good and productive meeting with Spain’s... Prime Minister Pedro Sánchez. Our discussion focused on joint efforts to achieve real peace, security guarantees, defense needs, and cooperation with Spanish companies in the reconstruction of Ukraine. I thank the people of Spain and the government for providing a new military aid package—1 billion euros this year—which includes exactly what we need to strengthen the front line: armored vehicles, missiles, and shells. I would like to express special gratitude for the recent defense package – €700 million for defense. Thank you. We appreciate your responsible approach to the current moment in global politics, which is reflected in your support for the PURL initiative, enabling us to purchase American weapons. These are necessary items – first and foremost air defense missiles and other weapons that are not available in Europe and that we can only purchase at this time. I held a meeting with Prime Minister of Lithuania... Inga Ruginienė – this is her first foreign visit, and it is very meaningful that it is to Ukraine. A true sign of support. We discussed everything that is now critically important: continued defense assistance, joint weapons production, and investments in Ukraine’s defense industry. We also spoke separately about the energy sector. Winter is ahead, and Russia continues to intensify its aerial terror and strikes against our cities – therefore, strengthening our air defense remains a top priority. We also discussed Lithuania’s participation in Ukraine’s reconstruction and its assistance in building shelters in schools and kindergartens. Lithuania’s readiness to contribute to the PURL initiative and to join the SAFE instrument is important. We value this and are grateful for Lithuania’s comprehensive support for Ukraine: military assistance, co-leadership in the demining coalition, active participation in the drone, air defense, electronic warfare, artillery, and IT coalitions. We discussed driving flexible EU credit lines directly into our top battlefield priorities and expanding support via the PURL mechanism. We also invited Latvian partners to leverage the Test in Ukraine initiative to battle-test cutting-edge innovations in real warfare conditions. We discussed further support for Ukraine with the Minister... of Foreign Affairs of Denmark, Lars Løkke Rasmussen.
