Handling CSS :hover off the main thread! This is... a work in progress but I love this so much, I just have to share it! 🤓 Ladybird on the left, Chrome on the right. The demo runs JS for 250ms repeatedly, to simulate a busy page.show more

Work in progress, but this is so fucking cool... I just have to share.. I'm moving the entire CSS pipeline off the main thread in Ladybird. This allows us to animate any CSS properties we want and they just keep going smoothly despite heavy JS execution! Video demo is animating a bunch of flex and grid layouts while JS churns on the main thread. Same demo in Chrome for comparison. Welcome to the future, bros 😎show more

Browsers should do CSS layout off the main thread!... 🤓 Top left: Ladybird (work in progress) Others: Chrome, Safari, Firefoxshow more

I moved CSS transform and opacity animations off the... main thread in Ladybird and I just love it so much 🤩 Now we can chew on all that JS framework bloat while elements fade in and fly around smoothly!show more

TAEHYUNG ABOUT YEONTAN “The reason I decided to post... this message today is because, recently, Yeontan (my dog) embarked on a long journey to the stars. I thought a lot about how to share this news with you, but I felt that it was right to let ARMYs, who have sent so much love to Yeontan, know, so I’m sharing this news now. I believe Yeontan would feel happy if ARMYs also remember him fondly as he sets off on this journey.”show more

SUCCESS!! I managed to patch the boot image on... my bootloader unlocked Quest 1 and got 90 Hz on the Quest 1, I am probably the first person outside of Oculus/Meta to have this. Surprisingly, it runs pretty good on games like Beat Saber, I just used a WebXR demo for the FPS.show more

FSD 12.5 runs a red light I want to... share this to have a healthy discussion regarding this situation. This isn't in anyway an attempt to hate on FSD 12.5, I still believe this is the best release of FSD so far. Yesterday on my drive FSD for the first time ever (for me) decided to proceed on a VERY stale (red?) light. I was a bit surprised about its decision to do this, and I am wondering if perhaps the traffic light being set back (before the intersection starts there's a light on my left) has anything to do with this? Technically the car passes the light/stop line as it is still yellow. As a human driver I may have proceeded on this light if I was in a rush, but I am not sure if a robotaxi should make that same decision.
