Distressing content that breaks my heart! BULLYING! 😡😡 Being... a kid that was bullied at home by a parent, at junior school and down the park which was basically my whole life for a time, I feel I can speak on this subject. This is temporary, I always knew it was and I hope all that are going through this know this. I was lucky as I got to 6ft 1 at 12, my dad had left when I was 11 so that was over and suddenly I grew my wings and fought the older bullies back. I only extracted revenge on the few horrible ones who hurt all of us younger lot which was their way of simply masking their own weakness but it was glorious.❤️ I hope all kids and adults being bullied experience that euphoric moment when it’s over, it makes sure you never bully anyone yourself going forward. Multiple Casualties Reported in Marsabit Attack An attack took... place along the Eledimtu-Forole Road in Marsabit County just a few kilometres from the Ethiopian border late last night. A lorry carrying nine passengers was ambushed by an armed group, leading to the tragic deaths of seven people who included two minors from a local secondary school. The attackers shot at the vehicle indiscriminately, before setting it ablaze and burning some of the bodies beyond recognition. The sixth victim reportedly succumbed to bullet wounds in a nearby thicket. Among the passengers, one boy was found this morning with a fractured limb, while another person sustained burn wounds but managed to reach Forole for help. The only other survivor, a girl in Form One, miraculously escaped unhurt and fled into the night. The tragic incident was reported to Forolle Police Station by a 16-year-old survivor Talaso Wato. According to locals, the suspects behind this heinous act could be remnants of the Oromo Liberation Front (OLF), hostile Borana neighbours or even Ethiopian police officers — a possibility linked to tensions over the OLF militants believed to be harboured in Kenya. My experience as a Defenders fan going to STL... America's Center & The Dome for an away game. This was a solo trip, did not bring my family on this one. The St. Louis Battlehawks home games truly are one of the special environments for United Football League. I’ve been to 4 AWAY games for DC Defenders over the last 12 months and the environment for this one was fired up! They definitely should NOT move STL to a soccer stadium if they keep showing out like they did yesterday. I got to my hotel at 1AM on game day after a late flight from the west coast. I woke up 6 hours later, walked towards the stadium and randomly caught the STL player walk-ins. Then, I walked over to the tailgate and met up with The Bottom Line and enjoyed some mimosas and breakfast burritos with Ed Ploeger and his gang. Thanks for the hospitality! I was able to get him a signed Sam Kidd jersey as a thanks for all he does for the UFL community! After the tailgate, got in for gate drop at 0930, and went straight down to the field. I was able to say hi to a few players and talk with Steven McCrane as his son was nailing 50+ yard field goals with ease. Chatted up and made peace with a few STL fans around me. Once the game started, they had the place LOUD, and my watch kept alerting me that my hearing was getting damaged 🤣 . Being there for the first ever 4 point field goal by Matt McCrane made the travel worth it. After the home fans had a few rounds of beers, the heckling began (which was expected), but I had to pop about 6 beach balls/🎈 as I became the 🎯 for drunk fans as the only DC fan in the section. I tossed the balls back a few times until I immediately got hit with about 3 balls in a row. So that part was a bit of a let down, as I was just trying to enjoy a game. The halftime show was great. Overall, the game experience itself left something to be desired with the penalties and getting harassed by fans who were clearly recording trying to get rage bait engagement on 🎥. While learning Unreal Engine 5, I decided to port... over most of Hyperion to it to see if I could potentially move my workflows over to UE5. Although it worked decently well, it didn't work well enough to allow me to change over entirely. Hyperion is simply too complex of an asset for real-time workflows (or at least is limited due to my knowledge of said workflows). 131 4K-8K UDIMs at over 8 channels and a solid amount of shaders with layering being the biggest bottleneck. I couldn't even match the shading setup to what I have in RenderMan, UE gave me a warning that the material was too complex. I was using the new Substrate materials, which mimic RenderMan LAMA shaders. The render below is using the pathtracer. As you can see there are some random flickering parts which I couldn't fix during my tests. This render of course doesn't have any displacement either (which Hyperion heavily relies on). I think Unreal Engine has a very bright future, but it is still limited by todays hardware technology for high end VFX work. Maybe in a few years I will give it another try when hardware improves and the engine becomes a bit more versatile in feature-set.show more

On 11th August, 2025, I was involved in a... ghastly accident on my way from Kumasi to Accra with my friend, an accident that almost took our lives. The accident happened around 4:00 am, just a few minutes’ drive from Nkawkaw. In those moments after the crash, fear took over. Help was not coming, and at a point, I genuinely feared for our lives. I kept thinking the car might catch fire as we were helpless. We both sustained serious injuries: the bone in my thigh got broken, and my friend suffered fractures in both legs. I was admitted at St. Joseph Hospital for 22 days, where I underwent surgery and received all my treatments. After the surgery, the pain was unbearable and i even forgot how to walk. I stayed indoors for a long time, battling both physical pain and depression. There were days and nights I cried endlessly, holding on to hope and praying to get better. I feared our legs might never be the same again. Today, I am grateful to say that we are both doing well. From the depths of my heart, I extend my sincere gratitude to my friends and family, the doctors, surgeons, nurses, and everyone who stood by me during this extremely trying period. i built an open world minigame that's controlled with... hand movements only here's a step-by-step tutorial: > started with my mediapipe + threejs template (see QT) > added a 3D model made by quaternius > sent a few prompts to gemini 3... --- prompt #1: repurpose the attached script, but now I want to import a gltf model (assets/model.gltf) and use that in the scene instead of the cube when the user moves their hand, a waypoint indicator should move around the scene, and the 3D model should smoothly move there when the user makes a fist, the model should jump the 3D model contains bundled animations in it. use the "idle", "run", and "jump" animations --- prompt #2: make this a procedural open world adventure. generate very simple procedural voxel terrain when the model gets near the edges of the screen, the camera should move, allowing the model to keep going in that direction --- prompt #3: add some floating glowing gems around the map that the user can collect --- i made some manual tweaks for styling and game feel, but that's the gist of it thanks for reading if you got all the way here full code is available at my link in bioshow more

Updated Fly By of the Tropicana Site Along With... A Visit From DHS Got stopped by Department of Homeland Security this morning after flying! There were two officers in all-black uniforms and vests that pulled in front of my vehicle just as I was finishing up and putting all the safety equipment away. They asked if I had just flown a drone and I let them know I did. From there, they met up with me at my car and asked to see my Part 107 Certificate and FAA authorization to fly in zero grid airspace. I always carry a white binder with everything I need and I have never had to show anyone anything until today, but I was ready. After a few minutes of going over my information and documents, they were finished. They also let me know that no one has ever had all of their documents together like I had. OP : In Chembur, me and 4 of my... friends/siblings had gone out to eat burgers when a drunk man in his 50s-60s, standing on the road smoking, suddenly started yelling at me repeatedly, “चल गाड़ी पर बैठ आ जा.” When I asked if he was talking to me, he said yes. My brother confronted him for speaking to a girl like that, after which the man started threatening and yelling at me saying things like “शानी बन रही है क्या?” and "तुझे दिखाता हूँ." He then ran away leaving his scooty behind, and we stayed there waiting for him to return. Around 15 minutes later, he came back with his wife and completely changed the story, claiming I approached him first. While we were arguing, a local man called people from the area and suddenly 20-25 people gathered around us. Things escalated quickly - my sister was physically pushed, my brothers were beaten, slapped and attacked, and when I tried stopping them, even I got pushed and hit. Elderly women from the crowd started slapping me too. Stones were thrown at us and huge rocks shattered our car's front glass completely. We were just 5-6 people against an entire mob. When we called the police expecting help, they immediately started yelling at us to sit in the police van without even hearing our side. Later we found out the local man involved was apparently known to the police. At the station, instead of taking the harassment and assault seriously, we were mocked, interrupted, yelled at, and treated like criminals. One officer kept staring at my chest while I was trying to explain what happened, and one of my friends was even slapped by a cop for speaking against the local man they were favouring. By the end of it, we were so traumatised, exhausted and emotionally drained that we gave up on filing the complaint altogether. So the question is - is this how safe women are in Mumbai? If girls can get verbally/ sexually harassed, physically attacked, and then mocked at police stations too, who are common people supposed to go for help?show more

What happens when an autonomous robotaxi gets into an... accident? So far, nothing. Yesterday, I rode in a Zoox robotaxi and got hit by an RTC bus in front of New York New York. The Zoox was trying to turn right into New York New York on Tropicana Avenue just after crossing Las Vegas Boulevard and the bus was trying to get over to make its stop. What I saw, was the RTC bus merging into the front left of the Zoox robotaxi and then a crunching sound followed by a grinding sound. Pretty sure it was the RTC bus at fault. Impact detected. The Zoox robotaxi stayed in place while a warning popped up on the user display. Zoox support came over the in-car speaker and asked if I was okay and then eventually had me exit the vehicle at the New York New York rideshare area. Then, it just took off. The RTC bus? It also took off. The driver never got out to check to see what happened. Loaded up some passengers and went about the day. Nobody stayed around to file a police report, so I did. The Nevada State Troopers are scratching their heads at what to do here and so am I. Now I have a lot of questions that won’t get answered probably. I am okay and not injured thankfully, just shaken up a bit. As far as riding Zoox again, I feel it is safe to ride and highly recommend trying it out if you haven’t. On a side note: The Zoox took the hit pretty well and I couldn’t see damage when I checked it out. The bus had a nice scrape on its right wheel fender. I will keep you all updated on this.show more

I followed him around endlessly trying to get tips on how to produce better he taught me logic and I threw it in the garbage and learned ableton he was Interested in my local scene in philly - spank rock, amanda blank, santigold, plastic little .. and somehow M.I.A. ⊕ II II II got mixed up in the project as me and Dave were summoned by XL Recordings to make beats for her .. I failed miserably but we did make a mixtape “piracy funds terrorism” and eventually made some bangers like paper planes and bucky done gun.. and dave had a few bangers around town. Most impressive and memorable Songkran 💦 🧸: can you... believe that I used to play Songkran in Silom (a well-known street in Bangkok for playing Songkran) for two years? But my dad was there too, I wasn’t there by myself. I was there with my friends from school, and the parents were all behind us. My dad would shoot (water gun) people who’d shoot me. 🦋: dad is protective 🧸: yes! I’ve never had anyone dabbed powder on my face. I don’t allow it to be touched as I’m very protective of my face. As college football coaches, due to our new annual... college football schedule, there aren’t consecutive “Days Off” like we used to have in the past, thus the reason I’m taking advantage of these next few days off — starting today. Context: this is the first time the Atuaia family has been together as one unit since 2020 Covid Christmas. We got up this morning (11am😂) to ready ourselves for a FAMILY PHOTOSHOOT that hasn’t happened since 2017 due to 3 LDS missions, 3 job changes, 3 moves to 3 different states, and mostly the multiple excuses I’ve given NOT to be available for this event. After the Photoshoot, our kids wanted to go to Savage Fish in Millcreek for Pokē. My kids know a little about it, but we (Liz and I) have a Christmas story concerning the owners of Savage Fish. 16 years to the day, we were at BYU struggling financially as I was a full time graduate student and Liz a stay-at-home Mom with our 6 young kids to look after. Literally, every penny went to pay for our daily survival. On this day (23rd) these angels on earth came to our 2 bed/1 bath Wymount Terrace apartment to save Christmas for 6 little kids and 2 thankful parents. Today, as I watched each of my kids order their pokē bowl, the same who were blessed by the owners of Savage Fish years ago, I tugged at Liz’s sweater to reminder her of that day. She smiled and simply said “Tender mercies.” Right now, I’m typing this and drinking my kava while listening to all 7 of my kids, led by the oldest child in our family, putting together over a hundred “GIFT PACKAGES” to personally handout to less fortunate folks outside homeless shelters, multiple public parks, and other areas frequented by this demographic in Salt Lake City area. My kids, not prompted by me in anyway, have done this everywhere we’ve lived in the past: Charlottesville Virginia, Pullman Washington, and now Salt Lake City, Utah. We have been the beneficiaries of other people’s kindness all our lives (including recently with a stranger saving my wife’s life—a stranger we have not found yet), paying it forward is simply just the right thing to do. If we have any juice left tonight, we’ll likely do our annual Christmas Song for the online masses. Or, we’ll just mixx as a family and enjoy laughing like crazy.
