How would students in situations like this turn out if the government pays their school fees but neglects to provide for their teaching and learning needs? The heads of schools are afraid to complain because they fear victimisation from the government. At the end of the day, the government boasts about the numbers that go through secondary school and credits that to the Free SHS policy. But would you like your son or daughter to go through this? One of my favorite things we’ve implemented this year... is our school wide Morning Meeting. Our day starts together in the gym where we have a morning greeting, say the pledge, and sing the National Anthem. We celebrate birthdays and talk about our character word of the week.
